NFL Network reporting that camp opens for the Birds on Wednesday.
No word on if it will be at Lehigh or NovaCare.
They said last week that it's at Lehigh. It's already set up there.
They set up at Lehigh, so I'd be surprised if it wasn't there.
wip reporting its def @ lehigh
so I'm confused, is it at the Novacare complex?

I really hope NO ONE shows up at Lehigh this year...This will be the first time in over 10 years I'm not making a trip because I refuse to give these fargs any more money than what they already have for my tix. They make a farging mint selling shtein under that tent.
who spends money at camp? that tent is overpriced crap
Everyone does..they sell the same shtein there that they sell online, at the stadium, etc but brand it with "Training Camp 2011" or whatever else they think of. Everytime I walk through there, its packed.
Yeah they make a killing up there.

Maclin not practicing, Watkins starting and more
BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Jeremy Maclin was back at Eagles training camp.
That was the good news.
The not-so-good news was that he can't practice until he is cleared by doctors for an unspecified illness and that appears to still be a ways off.
"He's not done with his tests so the doctors are still looking at a few things," Eagles coach Andy Reid said. "He's up here, he's in good spirits, he looks good. He's able to do some conditioning things. ... From what he's gone through it looks like he's in good shape."
Maclin is visibly thinner than he was early in the summer when he was participating in informal workouts with other Eagles in Malton, N.J. He said then that he regained most of the weight he had lost a few months earlier after experiencing mono-like symptoms.
The Eagles wide receiver won't speak with reporters until he returns to practice. That could be some time.
Hopefully he hasn't lost so much weight that he can't get back to his normal playing weight by the regular season. What's concerning with a guy like Maclin is that when he drops weight, it's muscle mass.

Ah...I understand now.
This is common in sports and in particular soccer. For some reason, soccer players recognize when a player is suffering from a seizure and will commonly grab and pull the guy's tongue so he doesn't swallow it...but now thinking about it...it would be hard to prevent a player from biting on his own tongue during that scenario because of the force exacted from the jaw.

Nnamdi didn't practice today, I think he had a strained calf
Dixon practiced but was gimpy. He had a huge brace on his right knee
DRC was all over the place. Made a couple of nice plays on D
Vince Young looked terrible. I guess it's too late in his career to change his delivery but that sidearmed throw isn't doing him any favors. You can see the talent there but he's not putting it all together
Avant made the catch of the day. He dove into the endzone to catch a pass.
Henery was nailing kicks straight down the middle with plenty of room to spare.
Riley Cooper looks good
Nate Allen was limited. You could tell just from looking that his knee was a bit swollen.
Vick a rock star up a camp
The LBs are sort of just there, not much to say about them
I don't know what type of coach Juan will be come game time but he seems more prepared and into the defense then any other coach I've ever seen.

My nephew just graduated from CU Boulder and saw Henery kick in 2009. Said the guy was booming fgs in warm ups and during the game was launching punts consistently. He called me when the birds drafted him saying "Eagles got themselves an unreal kicker".
He damn well better be, considering they let the best kicker they've ever had walk out the door.

Now that's billboard material!
One rule of the NFL is that kickers should never ever draw attention to themselves for non-kicking activities. Every time it's ever happened it makes them look stupid. Akers spent several years not drawing attention to himself for anything other than kicking... then he started godding it up and having sick kids and crying after meaningless week 3 victories over the Raiders. Peace out douchebag. Have fun kicking in a windy stadium, we all know how spectacular you are at that.
i dont know....hes kicked in windy stadiums for the last 12 years and done pretty well
i agree his douchebaggery got annoying at the end but lets not let that cloud the fact that he was a GREAT kicker for over a decade
Indeed. But no matter how good a player he was (or any guy is), there is always the right time to cut bait. The Eagles did so with McNabb at possibly the perfect time, if not a year or two late. They did so with Dawkins a year early. Definitely got it right with Westbrook and many others. It's tough with a kicker, because the best ones can be money from 40 yards in until they are pretty much grandfathers... but if you want a guy that can occasionally make the long kicks, you may need to go younger.
i dont think its a matter of letting akers go its having a rookie kicker the same year you go balls out for a superbowl...that seems counter intuitive to me but hopefully they hit one out of the park with the kid rather it being OH! henry
I'm waiting for the rare kidney disease or something shoe to drop here regarding Maclin to make this "dream team" a nightmare.
So...what did Desean do in his first day back?

One more concept Vince Young is struggling to grasp.
From everything I'm reading the D is really starting to get the better of the O. Camp reports, what I saw at camp, and from the preseason game it appears Washburn is the real deal. Maybe a little too soon to get excited but I like what Juan's done with the D so far. It'll be good to see 4 men rushing the QB with an occasional blitz, and not selling out and leaving bad corners on an island. Added bonus is we don't have to see Trent Cole in coverage or undersized DE's lining up at DT on 1st down.
But we don't have bad corners.
They make up for it with bad linebackers.
QuoteFunniest line of the day: Kurt Coleman lines up wrong on kickoff. Bobby April asks him what's wrong. Michigan alum Jason Avant answers: "He went to Ohio State, coach."
I think he's talking about last year, how the only way the d could get any pressure on the QB was to blitz everyone and expose the secondary. This year, they should get more pressure just with the front 4 and when they do blitz, they shouldn't need to send everyone. But yes, they could rush 6 or 7 occasionally and the corners should be able to hold their own.
^correct
Their problem last year was even when they would blitz they weren't effective. From the looks of things Washburn has taken the pass rush to the next level, we should see less blitzes. Offenses figured the blitz packages out, Johnson was still good at scheming to keep defenses honest, McDermott implemented some whacky ideas that didn't pan out. As a defensive coordinator when all else fails you fall back on your base D. McDermott did the opposite, he tried to mix things up.

a "little"
IGY will get excited if and only if they win their 7th straight Super Bowl.
Not if Joe Banner is still here.

I like to argue and therefore will turn "like what i've seen so far" into "happy"

Apparently Henery has really struggled the last two days of practice. Great
The field has also been a huge pit of mud for 2 days.
Just sayin.
theyre also trying to win a super bowl with a 15 year old kicker
just sayin.
