I have what I call "eclectic" musical taste. I kinds run the gamut from Dean Martin to Green Day. If pushed for my "Desert Island" acts, it would have to be (in order) Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Allman Brothers and ZZ Top. Lately, I've been listening to a lot of Buckwheat Zydeco and Ebony Hillbillies. I am not a huge country fan, but I do like most Big and Rich and some Brooks and Dunn. Kid Rock's country sounding music I also like.

:yay
was there ever a band that lost it's lead singer and found such an excellent replacement as AC/DC
Bon Scott was great, but Brian Johnson was the perfect replacement.
Great band.
I am a big fan of all the Hanks but I prefer this one to the others.

Not identical situations, but Pink Floyd and to a lesser extent Van Halen come to mind.
Van Halen to a much much lesser extent.
They come to mind sure, but I don't think they actually challenge for the title. Of the two, the stronger argument could be made for Pink Floyd. No one outside of St. Louis thinks Sammy Hagar is worth a damn, and they're right: he's not.

yeah, bon scott is a top 5 rock singer in my book but ac/dc pretty much hit gold with johnson.

Alice in Chains when they went from Staley to Duvall. Their vocals are identical.
It's not a matter of imitation...getting a guy who sounds the same isn't the point.
But good suggestion, that guy does the job nicely.
Pantera had a modicum of success after they changed singers.

I've seen AIC several times with Layne & three times with Duvall. The shows with Duvall were actually better, mostly because he wasn't a hopelessly strung out junky.
And Black Gives Way To Blue is farging excellent.
the gawd phil collins
and didnt journey have someone before steve perry

good call, never thought of Genesis
don't know about Journey, not gonna look it up
It was Gregg Rolie and he was better than Steve Perry ever thought of being.
lol....ive never even heard of the guy but theres not a chance that isnt a travesty of a call
of course you haven't heard of him because you're an ignorant farging wretch. he was only the lead singer in santana before he left to form journey.
and another band i thought of that was good after switching lead singers was black sabbath with ronnie james dio. not as good as with ozzy, of course, but still farging excellent.
im trying to figure out how being the lead singer of santana makes you a better singer than steve perry
i dont see the correlation
evil ways, black magic woman... ever heard of those songs? rolie sang lead on those.
they are awful classic rock...but even if you like them they dont come near touching journeys greatest hits
freddie mercury and steve perry might be the two best pure pop music voices ever
ge the farg outta here with that greg rolie shtein
haha... you have abysmal taste and it's well-documented.
no need for further discussion here.
Just going off his name, I take it dude hates San Diego.

I am far too lazy and old to look things up. What is the harm of having a fresh thread? I am truly sorry if it offends your fat ass sitting in front of a computer all day criticizing people because everyone else is so lame and you are so bad ass sensibilities. Ass.
It common message board courtesy really and for me to point this out means nobody really cares much around here anymore. And I linked you so you could maybe read up on what we like. Your welcome Brooks and Dunn.
I like mussa. He's a meathead.
