big RB from LSU
Born 8/8/88.
His lucky number is 17.
Love it. Great pick.

Pass on the look test?
dork.
Wow! That is something Yeti would put up.
ive actually seen this guy play quite a bit as im obsessed with watching lsu games...hes obviously not gonna run away from anyone but for a big guy he hits the hole incredibly hard and has great vision...he should be an excellent short yardage guy and easily could turn into a excellent #2 back
dont sleep on his change of direction for a big guy either
good pick
I've have seen him rated as high as a second or third round talent.
Does this render Weaver irrelevant in short yardage situations?
what about eldra?
WON'T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF ELDRA

not for this upcoming year...unless scott just rips it up in minis and training camp which i guess is possible...but i think theres also a good chance he is on the PS this year

In an ideal world, short yardage situations would be Weaver blocking for Scott. In an Andy Reid world, it means Weaver will head out for a pass while Scott doesn't dress for the game.

Every clip starts with him sprinting 10-15 yards dead straight, through a hole much bigger than any he'll see in the NFL. Maybe a few jukes at the end of the run.
That highlight real wasn't really indicative of the type of rb he is. He won't be a big run threat in the NFL, he is definitely a hammer type.
thus his nickname Hammer
The only thing I want this guy to do is become a short yardage back. Thats only if they get rid of Weaver. Nice to have a back who weighs over 210lbs
I don't want them gettin' rid of Weaver in any circumstance.
Weaver will go back to more Blocking/Passing plays, and let this guy act as your short yardage banger.
That is Mike Bells game as well.

There isn't much of that. Mike Bell hasn't really stuck anywhere, and NO made no attempt to keep him. Let's see what this big farger can do.
Ha you guys are funny when you think any back on this roster will ever be used to be a short yardage hammer it in type back.
Silly guys.
they tried it last year with Buckley and Weaver, i'm hoping they let Bell and Scott do it this year. Honestly, i dont care if they just get rid of Mike Bell, dude does nothing for me. In this scheme he wont do shtein
What I don't get is the people saying a guy like this will be a possible threat to Weaver's touches. The idea is to have a heavy package, with a guy like this or Bell running behind Weaver. That's a lot of beef. I said it in the draft thread, and I still believe it: with Kolb finding his legs, Reid will run the ball. All jokes aside, the fact is that when McNabb started out, they ran the ball. They've got McCoy, Weaver, Bell, and now this guy. It has the makings of a Duce, Westy, Buck type of configuration, with a pretty damn dynamic FB too.

I won't be surprised if you're right. And if you are, I will be surprised if his newfound emphasis on running the ball lasts more than one season, regardless how effective it was.

That defender's last thought before crashing to the ground? "Awww, sheeeeet!"
four year johnson
Johnson my Johnson, Johnson.
This thread had a few chuckles in it.
Traded to Arizona for the guy that was taken one pick after him, CB Jorrick Calvin from Troy
Scott had shown absolutely nothing and would not have made the team. So, whatever.
They should have held on to him. He might be good.
Hopefully phreak can cancel his jersey order.

Reminds me of trading a never-should-have-been drafted McMullen for an undrafted Baskett. Hopefully Calvin also brings a hot piece of ass to the Linc.
Once balls started clanging off his mitts and he was moved to GB his fate was sealed

And the Eagles are being investigated for trading Scott to avoid giving part of his salary to the rookie salary pool (which you must do if you cut players you draft).

PS or actual roster?
PS
I am not getting the whole "investigation" thing. Right or wrong the Eagles and other teams that may have used this practice, are acting within the confines of the CBA. What will the Union be investigating? Why they signed said CBA with the uncapped year provision years and years ago?

I agree, it's not clear what the union can do even if that's what the Eagles were doing. And it's far from obvious that's what they were up to, since they kept Calvin.
It's unclear to me why there even is a rookie salary pool when there is no salary cap, which is what the rookie salary pool is part of.

Yeah, I would get it if they cut Calvin. Instead, they took a player they knew they wouldn't keep and traded him for a player that made the 53 man roster.
Even if they cut Calvin, they were giving two players a chance to stick who otherwise would not have. And if the genius NFL contract forgot to account for pre-season trades when making this one-time rule, then farg 'em.
