Yay! (What the?)
Hi. The Eagles traded down for me. Like five times.
QuoteTe'o-Nesheim has been a productive four-year starter for the Huskies defense. Te'o-Nesheim is an undersized defensive end that wins with toughness, effort, instincts and technique. He lacks great quickness, burst and agility as a pass rusher but does a nice job using his hands to counter effectively. Te'o-Nesheim will have a tough time anchoring effectively versus the run and doesn't possess the speed, quickness and agility to project to an outside backer in a 3-4 defensive scheme. His high motor, leadership skills, toughness and instincts gives him a chance but he clearly overachieved in college and is not likely to transition well at the next level.
I quit.
this is what they made all the trades for
reading about him literally makes me ill
howie roseman should die
I'm sure glad they didn't have any holes to fill in this draft.

What's higher? His character, or his motor?
Even Reid turned his radio on in the car and was like, "What the farg!?"

You fargers are making me laugh a bit.
Its funny I was just listening to Gil Brandt and Pat Kirwan and they said he is extremely explosive and was pretty much allowed to line up where ever he wanted.
i liked the trades that were being made...but now everyone who said it was right...its that farging little nunber crunching midget trying to make a statement that he knows what hes doing and everyone else are idiots...and dont under estimate banners influence in all this...theres no chance his dream has been to pick players and he definitely has mad influence on whats happened the last two days

again, who the farg knows, i just got Allen today and thats what i wanted.
I actually like this pick now for the simple fact that this board needs a player to mock for the next 3-5 years and since the Eagles cut all the dead weight there really isn't anyone left that fits the bill.
I'm looking forward to seeing the wit and sarcasm that he generates over the coming years.
QuoteHe's a very, very quiet guy. His coach explained it to me this way: You know that safety who plays safety for the Pittsburgh Steelers (Troy Polamalu). This is what he is, except as a defensive lineman," said Reid, referring to Washington head coach Steve Sarkisian, a USC assistant while Polamalu was a Trojan. "He's very quiet, very soft spoken, [but] when he puts on his uniform, he's a different guy.
I think I finally understand why he was the pick.

Dreamy.
Reid is not trying this guy at LB, at least for now. He actually said that he could push him inside to DT on passing downs. Whatever, I guess I should be glad that they didn't draft a kicker. Adding this guy makes it more likely that they'll come out of this draft with SOMEONE to play opposite Cole, although this has the flavor of McDougle and border patrol star Jamaal Green for me right now.
Everyone here hates this pick. Therefore, I'm going to be the only one to come out in support of it. That way in four years from now when he's a star, I'll be able to bump the thread and show everyone just how smart I was.

bottom line is they had incredible tunnel vision whcih is the single worst quality you can have when drafting

QuoteDANIEL TE'O-NESHEIM, DE
The defensive end group has so much depth all of a sudden, and Te'o-Nesheim fits right into the mix. The Eagles want to see what this young man can do off the edge and inside in the nickel. They love his aggressiveness and his desire and his toughness. Te'o-Nesheim is worth rooting for. He comes from a very difficult background and has an incredible motivation to succeed at this level. Nobody will outwork Te'o-Nesheim, that's for sure.
But can he work his way into the picture with Parker, with Tapp, with Graham and with draft pick Ricky Sapp on hand? We shall see. Te'o-Nesheim is in the mold of the oft-injured Victor Abiamiri, who won't practice after having knee surgery in the off-season.
Is that supposed to be a good thing?

QuoteTMQ calls this franchise the Nesharim, which means Eagles in Hebrew. Why Hebrew? That language reads right to left, and Philadelphia's is the sole NFL logo that faces right to left. Howie Roseman Tries To Explain Daniel Te'o Nesheim (http://www.gcobb.com/2011/02/25/howieroseman-tries-to-explain-daniel-teo-nesheim/)
QuoteEagles General Manager Howie Roseman did his best to explain 3rd round pick Daniel Te'o Nesheim to Dave Spadaro of PhiladelphiaEagles.com and it wasn't an easy job. Third round draft picks are quite valuable to NFL football teams, so it's not easy to explain drafting a guy who looks over matched against the competition.
I remember the GM comparing Nesheim to the Steelers Troy Polamalu because he was so quiet off the field. I thought that was a major stretch because being quiet says nothing about how you can play football. Some little girls are quiet but that doesn't mean they can play football.
Roseman talked about Nesheim having arthroscopic procedures on both of his ankles. He said he had a shoulder issue as well. The GM said the young man went through some growing pains, but they still have high expectations of Nesheim.
In my opinion, this young man didn't look like he belonged on the field in training camp. At times during the one-on-one drills, I felt like walking on the field and stopping the drill to protect the young man. He was getting his butt kicked every time they snapped the ball.
I look at Nesheim and see him as a high school football player, who got lost on his way to practice and made the mistake of walking onto the Eagles practice field. He didn't look like he belonged out there. I saw him getting up off the ground most of the time after being knocked down. He's got a lot to prove.
Seriously, he was no match for the NFL offensive lineman which he faced. They threw him around like he was a dish towel. It was a total mismatch. He's got to get much stronger and bigger, especially if they continue to ask him to move inside and rush the passer from inside. He didn't look fast enough to make any noise from outside at defensive end.
This young man must live in the weight room during the off season to have any chance of being an NFL football player.
If anyone knows a guy who doesn't belong on an NFL team, it's Garry Cobb, because all he need do is look in the mirror for the prototype.
This thread makes me want to throw around my dog like a dish towel.
im not sure g threw enough "young mans" in that piece
and gary everyone knew this guy was a POS when he was drafted...its just piling on now...

the amount of vanilla in that draft is so incredibly annoying and makes me sick...other than ricky sapp name a player in that draft who was either really fast really strong or really intimidating

Ricky Sapp i think would have been a steal had his knee not disintegrated
Ricky Sapp was never any good. There's a reason he hasn't sniffed an NFL roster. Knee or not if you can play...you can play.

I agree. I liked that pick a lot.
The Jets just cut him so its obvious his knee is done because they run a scheme that he should flourish in.
when a guy that relies primarily on burst has multiple surgeries to the same knee its probably not going to end well
Unless he's relying on the knee bursting like a pinata, I guess.
