Well, I won't be here to post in it but here's one for those of you who will be.
34-17, kids. Book it.
You just wanted to see your name on the cover. ;)
What's the weather like?
Is Mussa on stand-by to make sure the landscaping is tip top?
I'll probably be here...while MURP enjoys the game in person. ^-^ :sly
your a good wifey, mine is trying to get me to paint the house right now
That should have been done around June. Tell her she lost her "get husband to do shtein on Sunday's card" and it'll be back in February.
I'll be at a sports bar. A place in SW Houston that is an Eagles joint. Jake's Philly Steaks. Good cheesesteaks and hoagies, the best I've had at a place outside of the Delaware Valley. A lot of Birds fans go there.
I think Quintin Mikell and Westbrook are the stars today.
I also think Avant has a good game.
My bro is out in Hawaii, probably at The Shack where Don Ho showed him they have Birds games(Don has errands to run today :P). Nothing like drinking your face off at 7am
ESPN uses Dawk's soundbyte on Countdown, "Ive got to have everything you HAVE" gets me pumped up.
ESPN Sunday Countdown show has now the worst into ever.
looks like something out of the 80s.
Berman has the eagles winning the division
He's alwasy been a Eagles supporter, even when all others on ESPN weren't.
I'll be here for the game, with Merrill and Mike cranked up. Not getting the game on TV out here, and I got too much shtein to do to get to a bar. I got friends with the Sunday Ticket but they'll have other games on this week.
Best I can hope for are highlights during the HOU@PIT game. If things go well for the Eagles I'll illegally download the game later this week.
It's time to bust out the Westbrook jersey, the cap, and the beer. Eagles football is BACK!
:cfhead :cfhead :cfhead :cfhead
www.channelsurfing.net should have it i think
Siragusa's rockin' the guidoglasses today.
good eye by demps on that one
Tony Hunt gets the start at FB. Ugly play to start the game.
Jackson gets what I thought would be a pick for 47 yards.
holy shtein, great Catch
and what happened to Andy last year with the official, happended to the rams haha
I'm feeling confident in my prediction for less than 10 rushes for Westbrook so far.
great run by Buck
Shovel pass to Westbrook for the TD after Buck does the hard work on the previous play.
that was too easy
That was a "we'll prove to the Rams we have other options than Westbrook on offense" drive.
Surprisingly good coverage on the kickoff.
And out comes the defense to lay down against the run.
(1081i*4quarters) = Boner
wow, i didnt know 1081i was out
Bennett down and out
Down goes a Rams receiver.
Michael Turner just had a big run it looks like
Bulger stars in a gangbang.
nice pressure
Somebody still needs to tell Jackson not to handle punts inside the ten.
Westbrook gets his first carry for a whole three yards.
they b keying on Westy...Avant! nice grab.
Avant with a nice catch on 3rd down to pick up the first. Holding on the defense declined.
i was guessing that hold was on Thomas, and waiting for him to slap himself
The fake tosses finally pay off, they toss it to Buck who loses two yards.
Avant left wide open for a huge gain on 3rd down.
Avant looking good so far
Westbrook just raped someone
Real nice stiffarm by Westbrook there.
TD Smith
LJ with the jump ball TD catch in the back of the endzone.
Great kickoff by Akers for the touchback.
Oh damn, Brady almost got his career ended.
Jackson was wide open too on that. Jackson looks like no WR this team has had in his first year since TO
And Brady's knee got farged up
another 3-and-out
why is considine out there at all? He was way out of position
I love how jackson waits a second to let the blocking setup on PR's
Jackson's still looking to make that big play on punt returns.
Thats the Tony Hunt i know
Hunt gets his obligatory catch for two yards.
Oh Gus, looks like parkinson's is attacking your hands
Jackson a little overthrown there.
and there it is, Reid calling a deep bomb on 3rd and 6
good job RORY
Punt team gives the Rams 25 yards for being stupid.
Donovan nearly had the same stats in the 1stQ as Campbell had all game thursday, minus 20 yards but 5 had 2 tds
Howard looks like of like Freak this year
Good to see the trick plays aren't working for either team. The basic plays, however...
Rams look lost, even when they are getting yardage
Rams get a couple of false start penalties, decide to waste their second timeout.
The Rams are giving up.
nice spiral punt by the Rams punter.
Jackson finally lets one bounce. Too bad it landed closer to the 20 than 10, and rolls back for a few more yards.
this microsoft commerical is stupid
Greggie left wiiiide open for a 51 yard catch.
Greggie almost screwed that up
Play doesn't get in on time, first timeout burned.
Quote from: Seabiscuit36 on September 07, 2008, 02:00:00 PM
Greggie almost screwed that up
Hardly his fault. After all, he's no Avant.
Going deep for Jackson, but doesn't quite work.
Jason AVANTE
I love how andy has completely abandoned the running game AGAIN
That one's going to count as a run for Westbrook, and he loses 5 yards on the catch.
nice play by demps
Excellent punt coverage there to down it at the 2.
And Jackson easily picks up 7 yards on the first carry.
I am very impressed so far!
Run defense steps up on second and third down. :yay
Jackson acts like a farging moron on the punt return, running backwards ten yards.
ahhh not backwards!!! :o
still ended up positive though
Fake the RUN, Pass every play
Farging. Moron.

Demps, your special teams MVP with another punt downed at the 2.
Crowd is making some good noise when the ball is inside the 5.
WOW, horrible flag there
icehole>>icehole
Mikell gets called for a phantom penalty to give the Rams 25 yards.
Brutal falg :evil
Sheldon said HELLO
Jackson just brought some life to the Rams by popping right back up there after that hit.
LIT UP!!!!! ;D
Mikell gets a sack to make up for a phantom flag, Dawkins wanted to kill incognito
Bulger gets lucky with the fumble coming right back to him.
Rams offensive line is keeping them out of this game with the penalties.
With the way this game is going, I was hoping the Eagles would be up by more than 14 points right now...
2nd and 21, and Bulger screws up a 2 yard pass.
Bradley has played very well so far
Dawkins can't come up with the pick on 3rd down.
Dawk got up there to get that one
Jackson tackled easily by his own blocker.
They give Westbrook a real run, and he's tackled in the backfield. That will surely be the last run of this half for him.
lol, that one definitely was, maybe for the game.
Oh man! They give him back to back runs!
Baskett HYSTERIA
Baskett with the whole field TD.
ha, how crazy is that, munson is probably spilling beer all overhimself right now
NICE!!!!!!! ;D
The rout is on. farg the Rams.
i have mcnabb today in ff..lolz
274 PaYd, 3 PaTD (1,5,90) 28.96
Maybe, just maybe, we'll see more running in the second half.
It might happen!
Hall competing well with Jackson for dumbest returner today, running out of the endzone to get tackled near the ten.
i doubt it, Andy might do it with 2 minutes left in the 4th

Guidonia and The People's Republic of Downashore.
only complaint is they have barely involved michael eastbrook in the game but alright its 21-0 so fine
I don't have a single complaint in the first half.
Although, Jackson needs to stop running backwards on punt returns...that might be the only thing so far.
They've been solid in every single part of the game.
C'mon now, Bryant got the first TD pass. That counts as involvement!
Awesome backwards pass to Jackson to lose 4 yards.
Jackson dances around on the punt and loses a yard.
They said someone was questionable for the second half...who?
3rd and 1, after Westbrook gets 9 on first down, and they pass. Who didn't see that coming?
Blocking has been horrible on ST, and Assante almost had a TD there
Samuel jumps the pass, but couldn't hold on to it. It would have been an easy TD.
Wow, that had TD written all over it.
Gaither with the nice pass defense there.
Damn, defense.
Samuel has been better than i expected. Good coverage, and has been really close to having two picks
ARGH, Jackson almost broke that!
almost right there
Jackson almost broke one there, only gets 18 thanks to that shoestring tackle.
there is the LJ drop i was expecting earlier
Andy reid showing off his new invention today

Color me impressed with Jackson as a receiver. How the farg did he catch that?
LJ almost coughs it up at the goaline there. Maybe next time, champ.

Agreed....it's a Marathon not a Sprint
This game's a rape. As good as the offense has been, the defense has been completely smothering. The Rams are totally baffled out there, and they look scared to try too much on offense since they've almost been picked-sixed a couple times.
Considine looked like he has his right wrist wrapped and came up after that tackle playing with his thumb. SCREWED
I am fine with them not playing Westbrook another down in this game.

I didn't get to see the game, but it sounds like it was fresh and sparkly all over. Nice jorb, Eagles!
;D
the game was hot...boooooooooooo
Pimp Jackson! That little farger is amazing.
How nice is it to have him back on punts and then make plays like that on offense?! I almost didn't know how to react when he broke the punts; hadn't seen that in forever. He runs fast going backwards 10 yards and gaining 1 than it took Reno to go forward for 1.
Great game today.
If he ever learns to not run backwards and when to let punts go, he'll be amazing.
I'd like to see him break one on MNF and give the Cowboys sideline the finger.
Regardless of his good receiving game, I'd still like to see a trade made for another receiver. Any defense that bothers to show up is going to be trouble.
Cheggie Brownson will be back soon, dont fret Senor Failure.
Good, they can trade him and a pick or Tito.
In all seriousness, that bothered me a little bit. He has to understand that as fast as he is (and he is a fassssssst motherfarger) the guys covering him are just as quick as he is. This ain't the Pac-10, baby.
Oh, and this officially counts as another year where McNabb did not play a full season.
Gotta give props to Rory's brigade of morons today too...coverage looked great and Rocca was on fire. Demps down there downing punts like an all pro!

Samuel was on him all day. I guess he can maybe play a little man-to-man.
Aside from Deion I don't know that I've ever seen a corner who can break on a ball as fast as Samuel. He should have had 3 picks today.
Klecko was a pleasant surprise at DT. I thought Laws looked good. Howard had a nice game too.

The GAWD!
Hey, the Birds played well, especially McNabb. But they played a JV today. Linehan shouldn't survive the season as coach. Whoop Dallas' ass, and I'll be convinced.
I didn't get to see the game, but from what I heard (listened to Merrill and Mike most of the first half) and have seen of the highlights, I think the best news is how well McNabb is playing. It sounds like he was hitting some timing routes, throwing the ball before the receiver was open. This is something that I think has been his weakness, and really hurts the effectiveness of the WCO.
Oh, and there isn't much doubt that Jackson is the real deal. I can't wait for McNabb & Jackson to get their timing down...it has the potential to be just sick.
Man, Dmac was throwin' rifle shots! He was on like on like cheese on a philly steak.
One thing I really liked didn't have anyting to do with his passing game. He ran straight outta' bounds after a nice gain on his scramble when he saw he was gonna' get hit. Smart man.
Stewart Bradley was really good yesterday. I think he's going to be a very good LB for the Eagles. I'm encouraged.
Two things stand out about the play - the accuracy of the pass and the ability of Jackson to go up and get it
that was a nice play but there was also one in the 3rd quarter going in the other direction inside the 30 near the sideline where he had a small target and nailed it
Speedy Jackson not getting ahead of self (http://www.phillyburbs.com/pb-dyn/news/256-09082008-1587406.html)
QuoteThe error happened in the third quarter yesterday of the Eagles' 38-3 thrashing of the St. Louis Rams, in the midst of what was perhaps the day's most electrifying moment. Jackson fielded a Donnie Jones punt at the Eagles' 41, zigged to the right, zagged back to his left and saw a single Ram in front of him: Jones. Jackson had a decision to make: cut back to his right, where his blockers had the St. Louis special-teamers sealed off, or zoom back across the middle of the field to his left. He went to his left. Jones cut off the angle and forced him out of bounds at the Rams' 9.
I swear as I was watching that (or the replay anyway)... I was thinking the same thing. The punter was the only one between him and the end zone at that point. He should have broke to his right and forced the punter to take him on in space. There was still enough sideline to get by him if he had to.
Of course, listen to me complaining like I'm Billy "White Shoes" or somebody...

QuoteBut he ran a go route, and McNabb threw him a 50-50 ball, and Jackson out-jumped and out-fought cornerback Tye Hill for it. (For what it's worth, several Eagles receivers out-jumped and out-fought Hill yesterday.)
The fact that we're complaining about an Eagles punt returner "only" breaking one for sixty and getting forced out of bounds is indeed comical. Pleasantly so, though.
I've been complaining about his other punt returns, mostly his inability to decide when to let it go or not run backwards. Other than that, he did fine.
Yeah, I didn't love the backwards stuff either, but that's how those returns get broke sometimes... losing some ground as they weave across the field... they get a block or two and all of a sudden they turn the corner and it's over.
Kind of a "good with the bad" type thing...
he is so skilled that he is going to do things that most returners wouldnt even think of trying...and he should...theres a line tho btwn taking chances with your talent and stupidity...he hasnt crossed it yet
So when he fumbles or gets Theismanned I can start complaining?
when he stops being a pimp you can start complaining
I think I'll get in more pre-emptive complaining just in case he plays well against a good team.

One more thing, the fact that Dmac has enough confidence in this kid to throw the pass in the first place when he was covered like he was.
I'm not sure thats called confidence when you throw it to a player who is blanketed by the defender.
Well, for all Dmacs bad passes, very rarely does he throw into that kind of coverage. At best he holds the ball too long and has to scramble.
Of course, he's never really had a reciever he could do it with except for TO.
Trust, and donovan doesnt have that with Reggie Stonehands

St. Louis reaction to their putrid week one outing (http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/columnists.nsf/berniemiklasz/story/6C1C4CA8D6D6EA9E862574BE000E3FA6?OpenDocument)
QuoteI don't understand how a team can prepare for months to play its first football game, only to emerge from the locker room looking like dead men walking.
No heart, no guts, no pulse ... nothing
Or this...
QuoteAre the players trying to get Linehan fired?

QuoteBulger cares. He's just battered. But the postgame scene in the Rams locker room was disturbing. There was chatter, shrugs, even some laughter. I saw little to suggest that this team was disgusted or even bothered by a 35-point whipping. I've been covering NFL games since 1982, and I've never seen such a carefree locker room in the aftermath of such a humiliating defeat.

QuoteWho will lead the Rams back?
Or does anyone even care?
My guess is the Rams stink away their fickle fan base and relocate again in the next five years.
or its only week 1 and even if they don't recover i doubt this will be the loss that destroys the franchise.

QuoteMcNabb reclaims record
After 33 pass attempts against the Rams Sunday without an interception, Donovan McNabb reclaimed the NFL career record for best interception ratio from Neil O'Donnell.
When the game began, O'Donnell owned the record on just 2.106 percent of his career passes (68 interceptions in 3,229 attempts) and McNabb was second at 2.117 (79 interceptions in 3,732 attempts).
McNabb's 33 passes on Sunday gave him 79 INTs in 3,765 attempts and dropped his career percentage down to an interception on 2.099 percent of his career attempts, just below O'Donnell.
McNabb briefly took the mark away from O'Donnell last year before falling back behind the former Steeler, Jet, Bengal and Titan.
Nobody else is close to McNabb or O'Donnell. Mark Brunell ranks third at 2.307 percent, followed by former Eagle Jeff Garcia (2.335) and Tom Brady (2.354).
Let's hope he doesn't give that shtein back again Monday night...
Thats a hell of a stat. It's a shame he usually waited until the Superbowl or NFC Championship to throw his int's.

I was watching ESPN this morning and they were saying that the Rams are the worst team in the NFL. It is only week 1, I love how people pass judgment that quickly.
The Atlanta game was playing on another tv at the bar so I watched a bit of that on and off. Judging from what I saw, St. Louis is way worse than the Falcons. Now obviously this is based on just one game but still.
And the fact that the Rams basically tucked tail and ran in all three phases is more bothersome than the actual end result. They were humiliated and showed no fight whatsoever. Sad.

It's already rumoured around here that Rams ownership are looking to move. Combine that with the fact that St. Louis fans are incredibly fickle and the stands will be empty for the next home game and ownership will look to move the team. The main owner died recently and the kids are running the show.

St. Louis punter is on the injury report with a sore right knee - caused by punting 10 times during the Rams - Eagles game.
:-D
Ha. He actually did a really good job, though.
Give the guy credit, he kept D Jackson from scoring his first TD
I think he also averaged like 48+.
