I hate everything about the Cowboys, everything!!!!
Off to get a second gin and tonic.
Finishing up a growler of Rogue Imperial Porter. farg DALLAS
It's Miller time. Depending on how this goes, I should be shteinfaced by halftime. Actually, I'll be shteinfaced regardless.
If the Birds get a win, a guy in work has to wear a pink Eagles hat all day, and if they loose, I have to wear a Cowboys jersey, which I will repeatedly "accidentally" spill coffee on.
I will be thrilled if Madden and Al say less than ten things about the Pats/Colts game, and less than fifty about farging Farver winning again. Fat farg.

Saying less than 30 plays. I hope to see Mikell slide over to SS when Dawk is in.
farg>>>>>
Here we go again.
Mcnabb sucks, that is incredibly accurate
Holy shtein. Start the game, in shotgun. McNabb fumbles. FIRST PLAY. Dallas' ball.
Great play calling, and great play by McNabb.
Reid starts out of the shotgun, McNabb holds the ball too long, is sacked and fumbles.
galling
Nice tackle Sheldon.. This team blows.
Wow. Terrel Owens just basically ran right by Dawk. No juke, stiff arm, or anything. Dawk just kind of watched.
How many times tonight is Madden going to call Romo the Real Deal....farg
WTF is up with the defense celebrating after giving up 3 and 5 yard gains?
I'm thinking this game will probably be over by halfway through this quarter.
KOLBSY!
i bet we come right back out of the shotgun.
Its early but i'm pretty sure this is going to get ugly if that first play was indicative of whats to come.
I hate Reid's face.
Sure spot the iceholes seven :boom

CHEGGIE BROWNSON!
Does Andy Reid pay Madden money to talk about how it's smart not to overrun Westbrook?
TD. ;D
Reggie with a great play there, but farg did he ever look slow.
Westbrook gives me some momentary happiness...
Seven - Seven....nice drive...... :o

I have a feeling the Eagles are going to set us up for a huge disappointment.

Imagine that running inside the 5 yard line does work.
who else thought newman (#41) from behind was going to punch the ball out of reggie's hand?
was he running slow or did he slow down?
Well, let's give the defense a change to give up the ghost again...

Of course not, a replay would have made Dallas look bad...
yeah i thought he only looked over his left shoulder and did not sense newman closing on on the right.
Madden just put the words Romo and real deal together again for the fourth time by my count.
I thought he knew they were there, and that he was gonna be caught, so he was just trying to see the hit come and protect the ball. good on him for that, but he was slow.
Watching Howard whiff in the run game is almost as soothing as the sound of Kearse's utter silence. My bowels just shifted.
I want someone to "Steve Downie" Tony Romo.
Where is the holding call?
Super duper over pursuit! Yay!
Those two passes to Barber just now, he was Gocong's responsibility. The first one, he just dropped off an went after Romo, something a LB learns not to do in high school, the second he fell down. Nice.
I want a dirty ass play by Gocong to destroy Romo.
I saw at least 3 holds there
Romo is eight for six, five hudrend thirty seven yards.

I think the important thing is that Romo is earning his contract. Paying dividends. Good return on the investment. Brett Farve. Farve. Farmo.
If anyone ever says that Considine is an NFL player in these parts again, they're getting punched in the nuts.
That play perfectly illustrates why he sucks and has no business playing for the Eagles much less starting.

you forgot to add the real deal.
also how its instinct for him to move out of the pocket when the pressure comes. and how romo doesnt know when he completes a pass from the pocket or from a broken play scrambling.
OMG a run
Mcnabb???
Has Westy not converted a 2nd or 3rd and short when given a chance this year?
Why don't we just start pounding the ball, it's clearly working. There's another 6 yard gain.
Westbrook was running hard there, sometimes i wonder if Donovan throws out "Chunk Soup" when he's yelling audibles

once again the most frustrating part of the game is watching these fargers with 2:00 minutes left in the first half and all their time outs left just hand the ball right back to the cowboys. that was when i should have turned this shtein off.

Agreed - if you really believe that Ried's personal issues aren't affecting this team, that's fine. But you have to believe that he's lost this team. "no personality or character" means they are just going through the motions. Reid systematically cut the heart out of this team with his white-bread-only policy. Now he reaps the reward.
as bad as the eagles have played all season, doesnt it seem like they play worse on these nationally televised games? like the offense sucks even more and the D never makes a stand.
in fact this D finally faced a offense that actually took advantage of all the weakness of the eagles D. i have no clue as to how they help AD to 70 yds last week but dallas really showed how running the ball on this team can still be effective if you stick to it and pound it up the middle. the eagles can not cover a decent TE. the corners can stick with the WRs but the line gets no pressure (which has been the case now for what like 6-7 seasons?) and jim johnson blitzes to bring any pressure leaving WRs open.
that play where dawkins was in the slot covering owens and then blitzed leaving owens wide open was just frustrating to watch. EVERYONE in the league has figured the blitzing schemes of jim johnson...except of course for the eagles. i bet if this offense played against this defense they still would not be about to take advantage. it showed against the giants.
edit: saddest part was that personnel wise the teams were not that different. this was the same defense that basically held the cowboys in check last season (esp owens) and the offense moved the ball.
I'm wearing an Emmit Smith authentic today. farging corksuckers. What a zesty game.
But you have to believe that he's lost this team. "no personality or character" means they are just going through the motions.

I was curious why Cole wasn't rotated to LDE after being manhandled by Flozell Adams all night.
...and take JEVON KEARSE out of position to make big plays?!?

i just keep imagining mcnabb on a team with a solid WR corps (doesnt have to be the top 1-2 WRs in the game) and a running game. too bad its not the eagles.
i guess now we have to look forward to seeing how kolb will do. maybe he willl be so good that he can makeup for reid's lack of gameday adjustments and lack of talent at WR.
i think its pretty obvious mcnabb is the next qb of the chicago bears

He's not on top of his game but it's more than obvious that he's still not anywhere near 100% from him knee injury and the coaching staff is not doing anything to adjust the game plan to help compensate for that. Instead, they keep exposing it.

You have a future here.
Pity the fool.
We have a running game, and it's been mostly effective and completely underutilized. We have pure liquid shtein for receivers and TE. Westbrook and Cole form the core, maybe salvage a half dozen or so more from the heap. Cut the rest, get a new coach, and let him rebuild. Hopefully, it won't be a clusterfarg.
Of course, this is Philly......
Rebuilding would absolutely be a clusterfarg. Always is. The truth is that I don't even really feel like I can tell if this team has any sort of foundation to build quickly on. They have players that are completely mis-used on both sides of the ball. Young players. How can anyone tell if Chris Gocong is any good when he's playing a position that he just learned a minute ago? This farging team...
True. But if you rebuild, you need to start with the coach. So the question is who?
The one thing I do know, if it comes to rebuilding, everyone over 30 out of the pool.
That means some of the heroes of years past: McNabb, Dawk, Runyan, Tra. They need to figure out if Kolb is the answer or not. Maybe not this week, but soon.
Runyan and Dawk stay as long as they want.
Why? You can make an argument for each based on attitude alone. And you can argue for Dawkins based on tenure, but by definition rebuilding means you let go of the edifices of the past.
Runyan won't be able to walk in five years and he isn't out there spearing people after the play anymore to give the OL that dirty-play mentality. Dawkins still brings it on occasion, but his body is breaking down. Flexing and screaming and somersaulting onto the field doesn't inspire the young'uns if he's on the sideline all the time.
You're talking about two of my favorite Eagles, but if this team rebuilds, they need to be let go.
I would in fact argue on attitude first, then on tenure. Then on the combination of the two as the thread you want to wind into the next crew by keeping them on.
That would be my argument.
If I cared to argue about it.
Then make them coaches. But if you're rebuilding, they stop playing. Period.
Much as it galls me to say it. Those two deserve a ring, and fat-ass farged it up for them. His biggest failure.

Sure, fair enough. But my point is that attitude only helps to accomplish something if their bodies can back it up. Attitude without performance is just seen as foolishness. I'm not sure that they can anymore.

well "who" is not the real concern. we all know reid will not take a leave or quit. and even if somehow he did we get eminem waiting in the wings.
who can be answered easily by a # of former coaches doing television or promising assistants. and maybe im part of the few who believe but i do not think the team is in need of complete rebuilding but adding play makers on both sides and a proper game plan being installed and called. of course thats a lot easier said then done.
the formula in my head was:
subtract the head coach and his "offensive" genius philosophy and add a coach with
subtract the defensive coach
add a defensive minded coach who hires a offensive assistant who can actually call a game
add chad johnson or type (him plus brown and curtis is pretty good)
add commitment to running game (30 carries a game is a must in some sort of combo)
meh i guess its a lot but i rather they attempt that then go into full out complete rebuilding mode.

moved to this country in 92 so i missed all the past glory of the sixers (well i was also not born at the time) but it just feels like every season every franchise tries and besides 04 the eagles have not. and im also of the opinion that billy king/larry brown also ruined the chances of the sixers with iverson in his prime.

Yeah, I actually remember a play last night where it looked like Runyan did spear a guy at the end of a play, I thought the refs were gonna throw a flag.
Best play of the night was Ramsey trying to kill Jones. :yay
Ramsey got fined a game check for his efforts ($21,176), mostly because he was already fined this year. If it's against Dallas and doesn't change the outcome, cool. 8)

I forget where I heard it but supposedly if Beason was there they would have picked him. They should try GoCong at DE, its his natural position and its not like he can be any worse.
thats the problem...if its a stud linebacker they gotta hope hes there (and truthfully even then they dont pick them) but if its an offensive lineman they like theyll move the earth to get him

pretty sure you never saw him in college....he was ridiculous...the reason he dropped in the draft was because of being undersized not because he didnt have crazy athletic ability
in fact many people thought hed play lb in a 3-4 coming out...a high motor guy doesnt havre the athletic ability to play a rush linebacker who will have to drop in coverage OR defensive end
He also got owned by Flozell this week, though.
other than reggie white im quite certain every defensive end thats ever played has been owned before
I know. I just want to remind everyone that even the good players on this team stunk it up.
No hope for the future at all, IMO. By the time they're able to get a team and coaching staff in place with a new attitude and swagger, Westbrook will be past his prime. Runyan, Thomas, Dawkins, and McNabb will be gone or completely ineffective. Etc etc.
No chance for at least the next 3 years, unless changes start NOW.
I kept and eye on cole most of the game into the 3rd and flozell did a good job and cole didn't seem to try anything different on his attack, which was confusing. that being said almost every other play they had witten or fasano helping flozell out. flozell got away with quite a few holding calls. A few were so bad i couldn't believe a flag wasn't thrown.
i noticed a few of those holds as well mussa...one was especially bad where flozells arms were all up in killa's neck

True, I don't make a habit out of watching the one Cincinnati game a year that makes it to national television, And I seriously doubt that you do either... but either way it's not like he was revered as some sort of athletic phenom through his years in school or when he came out. Some can't miss athlete who just didn't have a position. He had sacks but not piles and piles of sack in college, he ran a 4.7 40 and did an average number of bench reps. Not exactly the athletic prodigy that you're describing...
So basically you're saying he's no Mike Mamula.

i saw him play probably once or twice in college...enough times to remember him...i mean he was first team all conference...it wasnt like he was a back up...plus you dont have to watch actual cincinnati games...theres tons of film on youtube and draft sites of almost any potential draft pick...
no one ever said he was a prodigy...but he had an amazing first step (40 times mean little for defensive ends) and was beastly strong for his size...cant speak on his bench presses but he was/is ripped to shreds....whether you think he was a freak or not i guess is debatable...but he was bassically the opposite of what a high motor guy is
You know, you can be athletic AND have a high motor. In fact, that's the ideal scenario. Just sayin'...
i agree but everyone has a 'high motor' in the pros...if you didnt you wouldnt make it
again high motor is code word for slow and/or unathletic.....not saying teams cant use guys like that because they often are good special teamers and solid back ups...but you generally dont want high motor guys starting for you...which is the eagles problem...andy actually target these kinds of players with the intention of them starting
Quoteagain high motor is code word for slow and/or unathletic.
couldnt be more wrong.
Your top starting defensive ends in the league are described as high motor, relentless pass rushers. Its the fact that their "engines" are always in high gear and they are constantly moving, never tire out, constantly getting pressure on the QB.
You dont want them starting for you?

Engines don't have high or low gears.....transmissions is what you want.
arguing the application of the phrase "high motor"
die....all of you
couldnt be more wrong.
there is no such thing as a high motor is my point...thats a term made up by nerds for fantasy football type fans such as yourself
everyone in the nfl has a high motor...if you dont you wont be in the league for long
from the best defensive end to the worst defensive end they all go high motor...but on a whole the more talented ones are the better players
same thing with fastballs...theres no such thing as throwing fastballs out there...the guy is either talented enough to succeed in the nfl or he isnt...are their exceptions to the rule of course but overall thats how it works...fantasy geeks like you make me sick who buy into these bogus ass terms like high motor guys...get a clue dipshtein...then grow a set so youre able to sum the strength to take your own life
Post of the minute?
Quotebogus ass terms
watching you trying to brainwash others into believing your own definitions of words is even more bogus
dont write a whole paragraph of what high motor means and how it translates to the NFL than you farging munson, and be prepared to be called out on it like you do to everyone else in this forum.
reese is a high motor personality on :CF.

OK, that may have been a little much. The truth is that I was just enjoying reading IGY get all fired up about yelling at Reese. It made me giggle.

what makes me giggle is watching IGY start explaining himself of what he meant, than get so twisted and confused in what hes saying, that he just goes to degrading and ridiculing.

i didnt bring up high motor here and the first time i mentioned it i explained that it was a coaches (see nerd) term for someone who cant play...again its a code word...however people like you who have never play a second of any organized sport buy into that gay shtein hook line and sinker...
the term insinuates that talented guys dont work hard...you think julius peppers doesnt have a "high motor"...or trent cole...or derrick thomas...at the same time it denegrates guys like michael strahan kevin green or neil smith as talentless guys that just work harder than the rest
youre clueless about sports in general but ive never seen someone less clueless about football than you...stick to the fantasy board and make retarded game and player predictions...at least that provides some entertainment for everyone...on the other hand when you try to talk real football it becomes tiresome and frankly youre a danger to the world
its the age of the internet sports fan...many moons ago i was warning people of this...that the internet would create a generation of nerds that would try to destroy the happiness that sports bring to us...
for every one reese/king cole/munson there are thousands more daddy didnt love me i got daily wedgies in high school geeks out there waiting to bombard forums such as this one with statements so ridiculous that we will all long for the days of moneyball arguments
its obvious to me that reese/king cole is a robot of some sort sent from the near future by billy beane whose internet attained self awarness of sports seen thru terms like reach....high motor and vorp destroyed life on this planet as we knew it

you looking to publish that article you just wrote up there for no reason?
i re-watched the 1st quarter of the game to see why we suck ass so bad.
I'm not sure if Leonard Davis is a poor man's Shawn Andrews? How good would y'all say L.D. is? Because on 2 occasions I noticed he's vs Patterson and Patterson got driven back -5 yards on one play and -6 on another. And that's just the 1st quarter on Dallas two quick scoring drives. and I'm not counting when he got doubled on a pass play and got driven back 4 yards and stayed there for 4 seconds. Ironically, both times he got bitch slapped where on running plays. Mostly 1v1. The 1st play where he got driven back for negative yards, he was doubled for 1/2 a second, then he was just stalemated after that vs Leonard Davis.
The Eagles actually took him out for a few plays and put Ramsey in who pushed LD back a little on one play and both to a stalemate the next. They also took out Kearse and put in Juqua. I have a feeling they took out Kearse and Patterson bc they were sucking, not to "rotate out the specialists" line that they always give us.
just watched Tony Curtis (the 3rd TE on the cowboys), not only block and release 1v1 vs kearse, but THREW HIM TO THE GROUND when he released him, and then caught a td 1v1 vs considine. that was the boys 2nd td. man it's hard to go through this tape.
