My first score prediction of the season
38 - 10, Cowboys.
Coming off of a bye. Better offense. Good defense. A coach who doesn't bend over backwards to lose every week...
BLOW OUT.

Eagles 26
Dallas 17
This is going to get mistaken for a rah rah go Eagles post but Dallas's secondary is weak and is going to get exposed. I really think McNabb is hitting his stride and the Eagles are becoming decent. I'm not saying they're a good team by any stretch of the imagination, but I think they're better than what we've seen. Dawk should be back and might provide the D a lift. Whats changed last season between these two teams aside from Dallas changing coaches? Dallas hasn't beaten anyone except the Giants and that was week 1 and Manning didn't even finish the game. Vs. the Rams Bulger didn't play. They barely held on to beat the Bills, got ass raped by the Pats, and Minnesota had them down at the half before they luckily blocked a kick and returned it for a TD. During the game on Christmas last season JJ had a great defensive gameplan that held them in check.
Here's Dallas's win/loss record:
Sun 9/9 NY Giants W 45-35
Sun 9/16 at Miami W 37-20
Sun 9/23 at Chicago W 34-10
Sun 9/30 St. Louis W 35-7
Mon 10/8 at Buffalo W 25-24
Sun 10/14 New England L 27-48
Sun 10/21 Minnesota W 24-14
They're overrated and next week they get exposed by a mediocre team thats starting to play well.

Just saw a stat on the ESPN ticker that Philly is 10-0 when Westbrook scores 2+ TD's in agame.
Do you think Reid will figure out that he needs to get Westbrook more involved in the redzone, rushing and passing, in order to score TDs and win some games?
Unfortunately I don't.
Cowboys will probably win.

The Eagles also have a pretty good record when McNabb throws for 4 TDs a game, so using the logic of these stupid stats, Reid could justify passing like mad in the red zone also.

It's not just about running the ball. It's about getting hte ball in Westbrook's hands in the redzone by any means, pass or throw. They seemed to have stopped putting it in their best players hands when they get close to scoring, and that's why the redzone TD % is so freakin low.
C'mon, that waggle right, throw in the flat to Schobel is money. I never saw it coming on Sunday. Never.
friday morning idiot....also eliminate yourself from the standings as you havent picked every game
Nice try to vault to 1st place, chieftain. But it's more than fair if I take a loss for the game I didn't pick.
You can wait as long as you want to make your prediction. If you'll notice, I haven't picked yet either.
In general, I think the point picks are pretty retarded. That said, I think the Cowboys would have to lay a HUGE egg to lose this one. Only way the Eagles win is if they play far better than in any game they've played this year, consistently over the course of the entire game. Even when the Eagles have won, they've looked on the ugly side of average.
More likely: Cowboys 30; Eagles 13
Hopeful: Eagles 21; Cowboys 20

well to be fair this a beat b and b beat c so a must beat c stuff does not work in football.
but yeah their schedule is no weaker than the eagles schedule. the eagles will be another of the mediocre teams they will beat and ppl will look back at and say their schedule was weak.
Nothing. You're not missing anything. It's these other clowns that are missing something. Specifically, eyes, common sense and a grasp on reality.
it will be a close game, the Eagles have a chance to win
Eagles beat the Lions.
The Lions beat the Bears.
The Bears beat the Eagles.

the cowboys wins have been unimpressive to say the least
the Giants were an abortion defensively when they played, the Bears were in the middle of being imploded by Grossman, and they almost got beat at home by Minnesota, otherwise they beat up on Miami and St. Louis, the buffalo game was a loss until buffalo gave it back...where exactly has dallas been that impressive?
Cowboys = OVERRATED
The Cowboys may very well be overrated, but the Eagles just outright suck.
so both teams schedules suck and the only difference in the two teams that i can see is one has six wins against bad teams and the other has three
accurate?

No, you forgot that one team has a quarterback that does everything he's supposed to do and get's criticized by the media because he is black. Guess which team?!
Right, one team has beaten the bad teams on their schedule while the other team has lost and looked bad doing it. How can anyone think that this game will even be close? Unreal.

no, i want more points than that, if it's going to be a blowout like everyone thinks, i want like 17

well i agree that dallas has not really beaten any great teams but then again there are no great teams in the NFC. they beat the bad teams they were supposed to and the eagles win one and lose the next against those same bad teams.
but yeah it could be a close game and the eagles did beat pretty much the same team last season with mcnabb and with garcia. problem is eagles are too inconsisten and even when they are playing good its nothing special.
everyone says it every week and its really old and boring now but this game would be ideal for ball control. neutralize the speed rushers (ware) and give them a healthy dose of westbrook, buck, and maybe even activate hunt (i know i know thats going out there).
i was thinking how belichek is running up the score and how all the analysts claim its to send a message to the NFL after the whole spy gate crap. reid is doing something just as sinister...he is passing now out of spite. he is going to keep passing till everyone gets the message. even if that means mcnabbb gets sacked 14 times in a game now. reid will not stop.
so finally reid is just like belichek...hooray!
how exactly are the eagles better now than they were 9 days ago against chicago
because they beat the vikings?
what has changed in the last week that makes anyone think they will beat dallas
i just dont see how they can possibly score with the cowboys
That's because they can't. Everything will have to go right for the Eagles and the entire Dallas team will have to have a let-down (after a bye week, no less) in order for the Eagles to win. Has it happened before? Sure. Is it likely to happen? Not even remotely.

McNabb is whats better. He's starting to hit his stride. Redzone problems are there but they're starting to figure out ways to get into the endzone. Every Eagles team under Reid has been average to sucks the first half of the season. I'm still not sold on Romo as a good QB. Plus if there's a bigger idiot in the division than Reid its Phillips.
Anything's possible but this has all the earmarks of a pending catastrophe. I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it. They've played two horrible teams the past two weeks and barely escaped with a 1-1 record. Dallas might not be New England but they're a hell of a lot closer to the Patriots in terms of talent than the Eagles are.
I'm telling you, I have a sick feeling about this week's game. Again, I hope I'm wrong, but. . .
I don't give two shteins if my record is wrong. I'm picking the Eagles because I want to.
Eagles - 26 (both TD's by Westbrook)
Cowboys - 24
Last second FG by Akers for the win.
I'll say Cowboys 21-20. McNabb has a rough game through the air and the Eagles run for 150+ yards. Reggie Brown drops a crucial pass near the end and Akers ends up trying to make a 60 yard FG with 4 seconds left to win, only to be 10 yards short.
One significant improvement I've seen is that now McNabb will sometimes throw the ball away before he gets sacked. It happened twice against the Vikings.
That only took 7 years.
Curtis jealous of Reggie Brown's increased production, seduces Reggie and McNabb catches them in the hotel room pillow fighting, naked, from the waist down. McNabb loves every minute of it.
2 TD's for Curtis Blow
2 TD's for Reggie Brown
McNabb 6 total passing TD's, 2 rushing.
Westbrook 1 Rushing TD, 174 yards total offense
Cole goes off for 4 sacks, Jaqua for 2, Bunkley for 2, Darren Howard figures out his cloaking device has been stuck on 'ON' this whole time. Kearse dies.
Brown takes a pick back to the house.
Akers with 4 field goals.
Eagles win in a blow out:
Eagles 30
Cowboys 28

Here we are almost halfway through the 2007 football season, and we still have no idea what the Cowboys' defense is all about.
The Cowboys are 6-1, seemingly on the way to their first NFC East title since 1998, although the Giants continue to win and somehow remain just one game out with one more head-to-head battle looming.
We know how effective the Cowboys are on offense. The passing game is explosive with Tony Romo (who's been hanging out more lately with Britney Spears than with Marcus Spears) chucking the ball up and down the field to Patrick Crayton, Jason Witten and Terrell Owens. And Marion Barber remains one of the NFL's most underrated tailbacks.
No issue there. No mystery. They can put up points in a hurry. But what about their defense? It's stout against the run, top-5 in yards allowed and yards per-carry. But the two times it has faced a real, live, ambulatory quarterback, it got shredded.
For the most part, the Cowboys have built their 6-1 record against a series of inept, inexperienced and injured quarterbacks. They've battered backups and routed rookies. And when they've faced a quarterback with any sort of track record, they haven't been able to slow him down.
When the Cowboys beat the Dolphins, they toppled 37-year-old Trent Green. When they beat the Bears, they saw Rex Grossman at his worst, just days before he was benched. When they beat the Rams, they got a combination of a wincing Marc Bulger, playing with two painful broken ribs, and journeyman Gus Frerotte, now stinking it up for his seventh NFL team in 10 years. When they escaped the Bills, they beat rookie Trent Edwards, making his second career start. And when they beat the Vikings, all they had to overcome was a woefully overmatched Tarvaris Jackson in his sixth NFL start and maybe his last one for a long time.
They have faced two healthy, experienced quarterbacks who weren't on the brink of getting benched: Eli Manning and Tom Brady. And those two combined for 700 passing yards, completed 68 percent of their passes, threw nine touchdowns and one interception and put up 83 points. Combined passer rating: 141.0.
OK, so Brady does this to everybody, point taken. But Manning doesn't. In fact, his 300-yard, four-touchdown performance against Dallas is the only one of his career. Since completing 68 percent of his passes with four TDs and one INT against the Cowboys on opening day, Manning has thrown nine TDs and eight interceptions and completed a pedestrian 56 percent of his passes.
He was better -- far better -- against Dallas than against anybody else. In fact, his four-TD performance against the Cowboys is the only time this year he's thrown more than two touchdowns.
Brady also was better against Dallas than he's been against any other team. His 388 yards were his most in five years and the most he's ever had in a game without an interception.
Although the Cowboys do have several more games against lifeless passing offenses -- the taterskins twice, the Panthers with 71-year-old Vinny Testaverde, the Jets with whoever -- they also have the Eagles twice with long-time nemesis Donovan McNabb; the Giants again, this time at the Meadowlands; the Packers and rejuvenated Brett Favre; and the Lions, with their wide-open passing attack.
Despite facing guys like a decrepit Green, a hapless Jackson, a woeful Grossman, a raw Edwards and an injured Bulger, the Cowboys rank only 13th in the NFL against the pass. It's tough to say their pass defense is overrated, we just don't know how good it is because it's only been tested a couple times. And those didn't go too well.
Certainly Terrance Newman and Anthony Henry (when healthy) are a very good set of corners. Roy Williams is a sledgehammer hitter when he's not giving some poor receiver the Riva Ridge treatment. And Demarcus Ware and Greg Ellis are providing steady pass pressure.
But the second half of the season will show exactly what kind of defense this truly is. A division-winning defense? Maybe. A Super Bowl defense? Could be. Or just a unit that's been able to take advantage of a hapless parade of quarterbacks and is in for a long second half and disappointing postseason once the quality of opposition goes up?
We'll know soon.
huh, good points.

I hope I'm wrong but I don't hold out much hope.
Watching NFC Playbook on NFLN. Baldinger was just highlighting Trent Cole. Shows him just farging up Greg Olson and Bryant McKinnie (who is about 100lbs heavier than Cole) and dominating in the run game. Then showed him in the pass rush, with some awesome replays. Cole is an absolute beast. If you see this show on NFLN, watch it, watching Cole pick up a tackle and throw him on his back then blow up Adrian Peterson was football boner inspiring.
I agree, this team is sooo much better against the run than anyone gave them credit for at the start of the season, and Cole is a big part of that.

I'm obviously an idiot. Dallas is much better than I gave them credit for and the Eagles are much worse than I thought they were. I can deal with a loss to Dallas, what pisses me off is a lack of effort. Andy Reid has no business coaching professional football right now and McNabb is putrid. Overall they're pathetic.

I'll amend my pick:
38-16 Dallas
I win.

reid paranoid from the weeks outcomings decides to just pass every play this week. its his comfort, sorta like a triple cheeseburger.
no way the eagles win, but i won't be surprised if they somehow pull it off.

Hi there smart stuff. Please notice that I made my prediction 3 days ahead of you. So while it's adorable that you read the thread and picked the same outcome that I did, it does not entitle you to anything.
I win.
I like turtles.

Just stay away from my nutsack, twerp.
Natalie Portman and Jessica Alba are definitely the same from the waist down!
