I've been on the Cowboys' site reading what their commentators have to say about their season thus far. Some things that stick out:

1)Against the Raiders and 49ers, they had a rough time stopping the run game. Barlow and Gore got 119 against them and Jordan got 126 on 26 carries last week. Seems to me a great time to test that run defense with Westbrook.

2)Their offensive line isn't as good as they thought it would be. Julius Jones is having a horrible time and although he has 355 yards rushing, he's averaging 3.5 yards per carry.

3)Anthony Thomas might get more time this week, but Parcells has been using two rookies as backups to Jones. Thompson is the speedster, but because the Eagles are known for their blitzing style, he probably won't play--he missed a big blitz pickup that resulted in a key sack last week.

4)As we have all seen, their pass defense leaves a lot to be desired. They say they picked up Anthony Henry to cover Owens, but Owens gouged him last year, when he was with the Browns for 39 and 40 yard TD receptions on back to back possessions.

I'm going to say they'll try to get the running game going, and if the Boys pay too much attention to Owens, LJ, Westbrook, Gordon, Brown, and Lewis WILL step up. Defensively, they'll stack the line to stop Jones and dare Bledsoe to beat him. Kearse is going against Rob Petitti, a rookie 7th round pick at ORT, so the Boys might do the same thing the Chiefs did last week, and leave Witten in to block a lot.

McNabb will throw for another 300 +

QuoteAnthony Thomas tired of sitting

By MATT MOSLEY / DallasNews.com and TODD ARCHER / The Dallas Morning News

IRVING – Cowboys running back Anthony Thomas' patience is wearing thin.

Thomas, who signed a one-year, $1 million contract in the off-season, has been a healthy scratch the last two weeks. With the NFL's trade deadline approaching, he may be looking for a way out.

"If they are not going to use me this season, it would be best for me to go somewhere else," Thomas, 27, said Wednesday.

Thomas has five carries for 9 yards in two games. He's watched as coach Bill Parcells has gone with rookies Tyson Thompson and Marion Barber III behind Julius Jones.

In four seasons with the Chicago Bears, Thomas was never inactive for non-medical reasons. Parcells said Thomas was getting more turns in practice this week, which could indicate he will play Sunday against Philadelphia.

Asked if he was comfortable playing Thompson against the blitz-happy Eagles, Parcells said, "Not entirely, no. Obviously not."

Thompson has missed blitz assignments the past two games, and Barber made a poor decision on a second-and-1 play during last week's 19-13 loss to Oakland.

Thomas, who had two 1,000-yard seasons with the Bears, said he's "very close" to having a discussion with Parcells about his situation. If the Cowboys decide to seek a trade before the Oct. 18 deadline, Jacksonville – home of the perpetually injured Fred Taylor – and Arizona could be possibilities.

Exactly what has Roy Williams done (legally, that is) to the Eagles to warrant any kind of shteintalk like this? Tiny Brian Westbrook broke his weak ass arm tackles and ran right over him into the end zone. TO has DESTROYED the Cowboys with Roy Williams on the team. What exactly are you getting at that has a shred of validity to it? You have not one fact to back up your shtein talk, so can it little boy.

Hmmmm, what has Roy Williams done? Well, for starters he knocked T.O.'s wimpy whiney little arse out of the game last time.  Little T.O. couldn't even take a hit.....and he wont be able to stand it this weekend either.  I wish he would jump on our star this weekend and see what happens, but he wont be able to find the ball, let alone score a T.D.  Westbrook = overrated!  Westbrook has how many 1000 yard rushing seasons?  You wont be able to throw on our secondary, so what ya gonna do, run Westbrook  -  oh please do!

Bring a snot rag when you watch the game, I would hate for someone to slip and fall on their tears when you watch your Feagles getting beat.  This is the beginning of the end to your season.

1. He didn't knock him out. He horse-collar tackled him. It's an illegal tackle now, and should've been last year. If he would've actually hit him legally, you would have an arguement.

2. TO has taken plenty of hits over the course of his career, in fact, he's taken some tough ones in the past 2 games.

3. TO jumped on the star like 5 years ago. If you don't want him to do his fancy touchdown dances, then don't let him score.

4. Westbrook is now in his second season of starting. He is what people like to call a double threat. He is more effective out in the flat (if you know what the means) so he gets space in the open field. Also, he has carried the ball about 3 times this year because we don't run.

5. I recall San Francisco throwing all over your secondary. Seeing that McNabb threw for 300 yards 3 games in a row, and the fact that we put a 45 spot up in Dallas last year, I don't forsee any problems throwing the ball against the vaunted Cowboy secondary.

6. Snot rag? Feagles? Jeff Feagles blowing his nose? Make sense, govna.

Actually, I was 23 when that happend to Irvin.  I am just acting like all of you for a bit.  I don't enjoy seeing someone get hurt,  but all of you did.  If you had been reading out posts over on Cowboysguide.com for the past few months, you would see that although we all equally hate the Eagles, we gave them respect - espcially McNabb.  But here I come over to this site and you guys laugh about the Irvin injury (still), putting up pic's of it.  In addition, you guys talk like your a bunch of 2 year olds like saying "Farg Dallas" and completely stupid scores for predictions.  Some of you were pretty smart, although hating the Cowboys you predicted a close game.  So as far as why I have been acting like I have since joining this site- well, I was just acting like all of you.  Enjory the whipping on Sunday.

This is the beginning of the end to your season.

this from someone who names themself after a steeler LB that destroyed dallas in the superbowl. talk about rehashing the past. retard.

ok here we go...

i really wanna pick dallas...but bledsoe is not beating a d the caliber of the eagles...the eagles can only lose two ways....a) dallas gets on a roll with their blitz and create havoc in the eagles backfield taking advantage of an injured mcnabb ala the atlanta game b) close game thruout and franz blows a kick or two losing the game for the birds

im hoping neither will happen

philadelphia  23
dallas 20

A D the calibar of the Eagles - PLEASE!  As far as naming myself after a Steelers LB - hello idiot Lambert is my last freaking name!  I will be back here on Monday after the Cowboys have kicked your sorry butts, but you will ban all of us by then because your just like your own team - wimps.  Again, if you want to talk smack, maybe you should have the hardware to back it up - again, how many Super Bowls have you won?

My actual prediction:

Cowboys 27
Eagles 16  (T.O.  Doesn't even get the TD in this one, it goes to Smith)

What it means to win a Super Bowl: Your team and organization is the best.  What it means when you have been in and won the most Super Bowls: Your team and organization has been best over a long period of time.  What it means to never win the Super Bowl: Means you have never been good enough to win it all and can never claim to be the best.

As far as this game, no it doesn't mean a whole lot.  What will is that our team, if they play to their potential, is simply better.  McFagg is hurt, T.O. is gimpy, Trotter is probably out, Jevon is a has been that is over-paid and injury prone.  Just wait until Sunday evening after the Cowboys have kicked the Eagles all the way out of town, if ya'll haven't hung yourself, you will have all of us banned.  You will be too ashamed to actually argue with us anymore.

A whole lot? It means NOTHING.

McNabb played hurt last week and the week before....exactly how badly did it affect him?

TO is gimpy? See above.

Trotter isn't out. Nice try. With a bye week coming up, he won't let anything affect him.

Kearse is injury prone and over-paid? What the farg player are you talking about? Go ahead and find out how many games Kearse has missed as an Eagle. Please. Go ahead.

Hey Filthy Girl, take a pill and go hang out with your girlfriend for awhile.  Injuries do mean a lot.  No McFag hasn't had a problem thus far with his injury because nobody has really tried to hit him.  Our D is much faster than the D's you have played so far this year.  It is obvious to anyone who has watched the Eagles that McFag is not as mobile now.  One good hit and he could be done.  T.O., one more bad stretch and he could be done.  Trotter is questionable the last time I looked, unless they upgraded his status.  With injuries, it just makes it that much easier for the player to go out.  My point was, that the Eagles are no longer the same team, just like the Patriorts.  Doesn't mean that the Feagles can't play at a high level, just means they will have a harder time doing so.  When playing good teams (like the potential of the Cowboys), it becomes even harder.

The Cowboys are a bad team. Bledsoe is a statue without any mobility, proven by the fact he has been sacked 10 times (how the taterskins didn't have any is amazing). Even the coach of the team knows Terry Glenn is a girl. She undoubtedly will not score a TD against the Eagles.

The Dallas defense has given up 900 yards through the air 460 on the ground both ranked in the high twenties.  Roy Williams, while a good hitter, can not cover - at all. The only people that think the CBs are any good are Cowboy fans.

Given the recent history of the Eagles success against the Cowbitches in conjunction with the aformentioned weak pass D, I see no reason for this to be anything other than the Cowgirls getting blown out by the decidedly better team, the Eagles.

I am not banking on them getting hurt, they already are.  I actually wish they were at full strenth, because come Monday all you guys will be saying is "If McNabb wasn't hurt" "If so-and-so was at full strength".  You do remember this is the same team (your Feagles) that had to fight off the Cowboys to hold onto a 12-7 win the last time we met.  This time, the Cowboys are much improved.  And if you think the Secondary is not better - ask Drew Brees and the San Diego Chargers if they think Cowboys Secondary sux!  Remember we beat the Chargers, on their home field, and the Chargers just beat the Defending Super Bowl Champs, making them look like Chumps in the process.  And in case you can't draw the parallel, that means the Cowboys are good or atleast better.

I really hope that your Feagles take the Cowboys lightly like all of you losers do, because that will turn into a blow-out win for the Cowboys.

Or better yet, we could ask that guy who just lost his starting QB spot to a rookie in SF.  He didn't seem to think that much of your vaunted secondary.  :-D

I really like that AR has given them incentive to win. The bookies know that the birds usually struggle pre-bye, and if they have a little something extra to push them through the game I think that miniscule spread has GOT to be the play of the week.

How does Hank Goldberg have a job?

He's got to be the worst handicapper I've ever heard of.  He's wrong more often than he's right.

It really is comical.

BTW: I agree about the 13 points.  Just laughable.  I can see the Eagles slipping up and getting beaten if all the stars are aligned but they'll score more than 13 on that swiss cheese defense of the Cowboys if only by accident.

31-13 Eagles

I don't think the defense is going to come in lackadasical like they did last week against the Chiefs. They have something to prove and I think back to back road games will have them more ready this week than last. No easy scores early and they will simply hunker down for the rest of the game.
Title: Re: Eagles/Cowturds predicitons
Post by: shorebird on October 09, 2005, 11:12:01 AM
There won't be anything lackadaisical going on today. This team loves to beat Dallas as much as the fans do. Thats why you see so many lopsided scores.

The fact that this cowboy fan would even begin to draw parallels based off teams they beat is ridiculous.

It is impossible to draw parallels and is simply illogical to do so. I guess by his reasoning there are no such thing as upsets. That whole line of reasoning is shoddy. Try again.

You might believe that, but statistics say otherwise:

QuoteReid's teams are now 3-4 before a bye week. However, they've been nothing short of terrific following a bye week, boasting a 41-10 mark, including a 6-0 record the week after the bye.

So you can go farg yourself  :)

Big freaking deal, so the fact that this team of pro's decides not to play the week before a bye and comes out strong after a bye is suppose to make them great.  Great teams play great no matter who they are playing, when or where.  Your team didn't get beat 20-17, they got crushed, killed, demolished, slammed, trashed, killed, etc.  33-10....if not for a couple of bad moves by Dallas (espcially the fumble by KJ) we would have won 33-0.  Then you can look at the attempt on 4th and 1 that took away 3 points for us to add to all this mess.  Good teams don't get dismantled by teams in this manner, only bad teams do.

Your forgetting how bad the Steelers whipped us before a big win streak and a trip to the Superbowl.

Good teams sometimes get whipped by division opponents away. You might want to wait until you have been to Philly before you pass judgment on the Eagles.

You obviously don't follow the Eagles as close as we do. Every year we get one trouncing that wakes the sleeping giant, last year it was vs. the Steelers, year prior the Pats, year prior the Colts etc. And when I say 'trouncings' they looked very similar to yesterdays game. From the get go we don't look like we belong on the same field with the opposing team. It just so happens this years beating came at the hands of our most hated rivals. We'll see how our team bounces back but if the past has any influence on the future than we're in good shape. :-D

Well....   Looks like Lambert was the only one who was close to the actual.
Wings came over to the Boys site in KFFL and said we would win.
I told him to get off the crack pipe.
Guess I was wrong.
I had the Birds winning 29 - 13.
Look who's wrong.

I think it was a combination - Boys came out smoking.
Eagles had O problems - McNabb's injury limits his mobility.
Eagles did not run or throw the ball well all day.
The Boys sat back in pass defense for half the game.

Well with a week off to get ready for the next game you should return to form.

It will be interesting to see the rematch in Philly.
See you then ;)
