QuoteMARTZ HAS SERIOUS HEALTH CONDITION
What initially was believed to be a mere sinus infection for Rams coach Mike Martz is in fact a condition known as endocarditis, a bacterial infection of the heart that could lead to death.
The bacteria in question are commonly found in the mouth. When those bacteria enter the bloodstream (such as during a dental procedure), they can become affixed to the edges of a heart defect or on the surface of an abnormal valve. The infection, if untreated, can cause serious damage to the heart valve.
According to Adam Schefter of The NFL Network, Martz has been fighting the illness for several weeks, and at times he has been unable to speak because of it.
It is a very serious condition. We believe, then, that Martz should shut it down until he gets a clean bill of health. His life, after all, is far more important that a job he'll likely lose after this season, anyway.
Any word if this affects the brain? Maybe then that would explain the poor clock management and general farg ups by him over the years...
:o

I know. Thanks, Nancy.
It's a joke, Mr. PC. In case you haven't noticed this board ain't exactly all warm and fuzzy all the time.
Anyone want to help me add "Calling flea-flickers in the red zone" to the symptom list on Wikipedia?
In all seriousness, this disease has a 25% mortality rate. I like watching the Rams get killed on Sunday, but not like this.

You're going straight to hell, Jay... and they'll make you watch incessant Cowboys-taterskins games with the SNL crew. >:D
I need a show of hands.... should I add him to my Ghoulpool list?
Worst coach in the league. He makes Gibbs look like he still knows what he's doing.

I can dig it. But only if Satan has Molson on tap and I can toss some taterskins garb into his fire pits. >:D
Maybe the guy should brush his teeth once in a while. Maybe floss....
it's something that can be fixed with antibiotics
this is a blessing for the Rams, this guy sucks at coaching

Yeah, if caught early, like Martz. The problem is when it gets too far along, and blocks the heart valve, or a big chunk of bacteria dislodges like a clot and becomes a pulmonary embolism or stroke.

I'm rooting for Gibbs to have a pulmonary embolism.
I rooting for his Depends to burst during a game.

Maybe that's why they dunked him with Gatorade! To cover up the stain on his pants, save his dignity...... :paranoid
