Title: TOOOOOOO!
Post by: WEST is GOD on October 04, 2005, 07:14:49 PM
 :-D

I was watching NFL Total Access and they showed two sideline clips from the Eagles/Chiefs game.

One was Mcnabb going up to TO and saying "There ain't nobody on this field better than us." Then TO said "I know that." and they low fived.

Then comes one of the all-time best TO bites ever, but you have to see it to get the emotion out of it. He was like:

"THEY DON'T WANT ME TO SHINE, BUT I'M GONNA SHINE ANYWAY, BECAUSE I LOVE!.... ME!... SOME!.... ME!.... BELIEVE IT!"

David Letterman's guests tonight (October 4):

Matthew McConaughey, Terrell Owens.   :deion

 :-D :-D

The skit with TO was hilarious. Letterman brought TO out on the street to catch footballs, and Letterman was like TO don't get hurt I don't want to be the cause of ending your season. TO went long and caught a ball and they did one of those cut scenes where a taxi runs into a dummy with an Eagles jersey on. Then they showed TO laying on the ground like he was in pain, and Dave ran over like TO are you OK?

:-D It was great.

Well, Dave tried to clamp down and get TO to say something about McNabb, but TO didn't budge.

Funny small skit with TO running to catch a ball thrown by Dave and then getting run over by a Taxi.  Mostly though, it was Dave trying to get TO to say something stupid.

Damn that Avenger...too quick.

I missed the Letterman appearance. :(

But I did see the Total Access clips and it was great.

Jon Runyan was on DNL and he said that TO was as fired up before and during the game as he's ever seen him. He said that he looks like he is starting to have more fun out there.

Letterman, on the contract issues:

(paraphrasing) "If you don't outperform your contract, do you give money back?"  TO: (shakes head 'No')
"Well, if I'm the Eagles owners, I'm thinking that you've performed up to your contract and that's why we paid you a lot of money."

(crowd applauds)

TO: "No...No....that's why you have the late show, Dave..."

...and that taxi thing was so damn cheesy...

He didn't exactly say it like that.

He said it more like "Well, probably would've gone somewhere else knowing what I know now."

It wasn't said in a nasty way really. Either way I thought that was pretty obvious. If you knew a year into a tenure with the team you would have a summer of contract issues, you would've probably chosen the path with less stress.

He doesn't know all that though, and I doubt he visualized a future for the Ravens for more than a  second. TO goes out and plays football, he's not the type of guy that goes home and breaks down all that extra stuff.

He also said if he could play with any QB in football he'd play with Peyton Manning. WIP is making a big deal out of it, but I assumed he meant other than Mcnabb. Even if he didn't, it's not a rip on Mcnabb, it's a praise of Manning.

TO doesn't give one shtein waht QB he plays with. He just wants everyone to think he's the best and pay him mountains of money. He could play with farging Ryan Leaf and if everyone was saying "you're the greatest, here's 10 mil a year" he'd be happy as a pig in shtein. Douche.

Title: Re: TOOOOOOO!
Post by: WEST is GOD on October 07, 2005, 10:37:39 PM
The thing about TO is he's going to have an issue with every QB he'll ever have in his career, because that is the way TO is. He thinks he'll love playing with Manning now, but the second he chokes in another playoff game, in the post game you'd hear TO saying stuff like "I'm not the guy who game up small when it counted." The Eagles aren't going to care about what TO says unless he starts doing what he did in the offseason, but that part of TO seems to be under control right now. The Eagles know what he means to the team, and a few comments that didn't trash anyone directly don't really mean anything.

What he said doesn't mean he doesn't like playing here. What he meant was, if he could go back in time knowing what he knows now(about what would happen with his contract) he wouldn't choose the Eagles because of what he'd be going through with the contract issues.

It's nothing against his teammates or the coaching staff. He loves Andy and everyone else for putting together such great game plans that get him great production. He's said that before.

QuoteT.O. continues to focus on positives, despite what he thinks his critics say

By BOB COONEY
cooneyb@phillynews.com

After listening to Terrell Owens' radio show yesterday, one question came to mind.

Where are all these people who seem to have nothing else to do in life but to blast the Eagles' wide receiver? Apparently, he hears them, non-stop, every day. Maybe he gets different newspapers and television channels in his world.

On his weekly radio gig for Miami-based WAXY (790-AM), and heard here on WIP (610-AM), Owens again lamented about how he's just playing the game and not listening to all the criticism people are laying on him.

"All the commentaries and all the analysts, they're saying this and that about me," he said. "It gives everybody the perception across the country that I'm a negative person, that I'm a disruptive teammate. It doesn't bother me. Whatever they say they can say. Because the only people that really matter to me is my family. I'm the one who's having the last laugh. Where are all these T.O. bashers?

Anyway, after talking about the team's great character in coming back from an 18-point deficit Sunday in Kansas City, Owens talked of his ability to catch the ball inside and out and how this team poses many problems for opponents.

"We have so much talent on that team that we create a lot of headaches," he said. "You've got L.J. [Smith] to work the middle, I work the middle. You got [Brian] Westbrook who can come out of the backfield and go out as a receiver."

He even went further to say this is the most talented offensive team he's ever been on.

"This could rank as one of the more explosive offenses [ever]. Before I got to San Francisco, the Niners had Joe Montana, Roger Craig, Ricky Watters, William Floyd, Jerry Rice, Brent Jones, John Taylor. You can mirror a lot of guys on this team to a lot of guys on that team."

Finally, he was asked whether, if he could do 2004 all over again, he would choose to play for someone besides the Eagles.

"Probably so. Just going through some of the headaches I've had to go through. There's a lot of things that kind of factored in to me making my decision. And obviously, I had a different agent than I have now. Probably so, had I known some of the things that I know now."

Him ripping his former agent is the thing that makes me laugh the loudest.  Man, what a toolbox.   :-D

I agree with PG, though.  Who gives a shtein if he's a whiny bitch?  So long as he continues playing like a God on the field, why would I care if he cries like a Hoyda every time someone asks him a question about his contract or his personal life?  It doesn't affect my life in any way, so why give a shtein about it?

wrong, kinda. Letterman asked "other than mcnabb, who would you..." *there is a slight difference)– but the guys on the radio said "if you could start a team with any QB in the league, who would it be?" in which our resident retard said manning.

Eagles Notes Owens says he regrets returning for the Super Bowl

By Shannon Ryan

Inquirer Staff Writer

Last week, Terrell Owens said he would not have joined the Eagles if he could go back in time. This week, he said he would not have played in the Super Bowl.

The wide receiver went against medical advice to play - magnificently - in the Super Bowl after suffering a severe high ankle sprain and fractured fibula. He said he would not be willing to do so now, after his contract dispute with the Eagles.

"No, I wouldn't have," he said during his weekly call-in to a Miami radio station. "I wouldn't have risked my career. I felt like I went over and beyond the call of duty for the team. With the contract situation... I think that my performance speaks for itself. For me being dedicated and trying to get on the field, I thought, would speak volumes."

Recently, Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb spoke candidly about his belief that the Eagles should pay Brian Westbrook more money. But when asked about Owens' contract demands, McNabb had said that he did not get into other players' contract situations.

When asked yesterday about the quarterback's stances, Owens said: "All I can say is two words: Go figure."

The hosts did not ask any follow-up questions.

Owens also addressed a few topics from the Dallas game Sunday, and not just the Birds' embarrassing 33-10 loss.

After the game, Owens was seen leaving Texas Stadium in a No. 88 Michael Irvin Cowboys jersey. If fans were bothered, Owens said yesterday, they can go shopping for him.

"I have a choice to wear whatever I want to wear," he said. "That's part of my wardrobe. It doesn't matter what the fans think. If they're going to stock my closet with a new wardrobe or if they want to be my fashion stylist for the week, [they can]."

If Owens was not putting himself in other clothes, he was putting himself in someone else's shoes.

He said that had he been the one arguing with his quarterback on the sideline, like Cowboys receiver Keyshawn Johnson did with quarterback Drew Bledsoe, the incident would have received far more coverage.

"Had it been myself, it would have been on every major network in the country," Owens said. "Obviously, people have it out for me. Believe me, it would have been the topic of every sports channel in the country. It's funny how it slipped under the rug."

He is teh awsum.

:yay

The wearing of an Irvin jersey (arguably, the most hated Cowboy to any Eagles fan) was an obvious poke at the team, the management, and the fans, and to get him yet more publicity through the bye week. To pretend it wasn't calculated for that impact is silly. Maybe he says/does stupid things every couple of weeks to remind the team that he really wants to play elsewhere next season, while his continued excellent performances on the field keep other teams interested in pursuing him in the off-season. Then again, he may just be the psychotic narcissist he appears to be.

That said, I don't really care much what he says or does off the field as long as he performs on the field, because I expect him to be a constant idiot and he hasn't let me down. Hopefully, the Eagles do something to adequately make up for him leaving before 2006.

Holy crap, you losers are still bitching about TO wearing an Irvin jersey?  Sure, TO would have been better served to wear something different.  However, retro jerseys are in fashion....especially with athletes and rappers.  It's not like TO threw on a new Bledsoe or a Meshawn jersey.  That would be a slap in the face.  But he wasn't.  He was wearing a throwback jersey of a player who seems to say a lot of nice things about him.

Wah wah wah wah.  I'm soooooooooo offended.

I haven't watched anything football related during the week for years. I don't miss all that crap.

I've done short-term boycotts in the past (after the Super Bowl last season, for example).  But the TO-Eagles-McNabb thing got so blown out of proportion by the tabloid reporting that ESPN has become that it was starting to affect my view of the team, and was threatening to lessen my enjoyment of the games themselves.  So I made a conscious decision to not watch the midweek shows.  I get all the info I need right here and scanning the headlines.

Best move I could have made.  :yay

If more people would do this we'd have less crap out there to watch and maybe, just maybe, more news instead of sensationalism.

i wont. sure i'll cheer the trophy, but he can eat shtein for all i care.

farg TO. he's a mercenary. i am not stupid enough to think that he's the only one in the NFL doing this for money. but in his case, he's being a shteinhead, and he IS taking jabs at his teammates and the teams fans, and the people that are paying him (the meager barely farging livable salary that it is).

i was so-so on this issue with TO, but he's acting like a big farging whiny baby. and i honestly think he does not care if this team wins or loses.

TO does not deserve our cheers. he doesnt deserve being booed either. he does not give a shtein about the team, he's shown that much already. why should we give a shtein about him?

i hope his family starves.

farg TO.

and now that he's gone on about him wishing he'd gone somewhere else, and some people just lap it up saying "Oh...that's our TO" (insert canned sit-com laugh)...are being foolish in thinking he isnt causing a distraction in the lockerroom.

i've gone from 50-50 on this, to, i cant farging wait until this shtein is cut.

"Hey, TO, i hope your mercenary tactics win US a superbowl, thanks, now get the farg out."

That echoes my feelings on him also.

As much as his signing added an aura of excitement last year, his snippy little bitch comments are taking some of the fun out of the season for me.

I hope he has a career year & leads them to the SB and then gets hepatitis.

so im all doom and gloom cause i dont think they can win the superbowl this year...and because with a hurt mcnabb and a hideous locker room atmosphere they will struggle to make the playoffs....take out the sf game and mcnabb has played exactly four good quarters the entire year...he simply cant consistently play at a high level with this injury...and its not as tho the defense can help out by keeping them in 10-7 games

but ive also said they could still win the division...their second half fate is in their hands as they have a ton of divison games in nov and dec

thats hardly all doom and gloom

i think your right.

last week (i think). ray didinger was on with jody mac on 950 saying this was going on in the locker room now. basically people on the team now are afraid to really confront TO, because they don't want to cause him to blow up.

Yeah, pretty much.

For sure... the Super Bowl is in question... always has been since we've never won one.  But the Eagles will still win this division... not by 7 games, but still... it won't come down to the last week or anything.  That means playoffs... so there's no struggle there.

Think about it.  With all the things wrong with this team right now... things that outside of McNabb's hernia... can and probably will be fixed... we're still only a half game out of 1st place in the East.  We get our acts together... they can't touch us.

You are going to help the pass rush with the return of Darwin Walker and Trent Cole.  Walker gets good push up the middle and actually has 2.5 sacks so far this year.  Trent Cole will be much like Burgess.  When he's healthy he's going to generate speed.  Kearse could still be a force.

As far as other teams 'bringing the house'....it's easy to stop and I'm sure it will be stop.  It's quick hitting plays that beat the blitz....a la screens to Westbrook, counters, mis-directions, etc.  Slants are also a quick beat.  Obviously those plays have to be called when the other team is bringing the house, and that falls on AR's playcalling.

You don't need to improve the OLBs...they were getting 'hurt' because of the lack of push by the d-line.  A lot of LB play is predicated or built upon d-line play.

You're not going to make TO happy.  He's a whiney little baby that wants his lolly pop even though the store is closed.  So you'll just have to deal with his attitude off the field.  There is no problem in the locker room or on the field with him.  No one truly knows what that locker room is like unless you're one of the players in there.

Are you surprised by the uproar over it? Yeah, it's just another jersey in the collection and we know Mike is your boy, but Eagles fans HATE the Cowboys and were sickened by it. We weren't too fond of AI wearing a Celtics jersey a few years ago either, so it's not just more hate against you. You might need to break out a Randall Cunningham jersey one of these weeks to make up for it...

I'm not the one with a short memory. As I recall this team was winning 11-12 games a year before TO got here and our coach, while pass-whacky, wasn't calling 75% passing plays. The negative impact that he has on this team is at least equal to the positives. He has pretty stats, but he didn't get us to the SB last year. He didn't win the SB for us last year and he won't do it this year either. So what has he done? He's made some pretty plays and put up some pretty numbers and we're worse off than we were before he got here because I seriously doubt that we win 12 games this year.

Stats don't win superbowls.

I said the same thing everyone else did. That we needed to upgrade and badly. But you can go back and look at my posts... I didn't want TO here then, and I don't want him here now. I would have taken just about anyone in the league over Thrash and Pinkston, but TO was excluded from that list.

I can't wait until next year when his ass is gone and destroying some other team.

That's because if no one is open, McNabb trusts Owens far more than he does the rest of the WR corps and tries to fit passes in there.

I don't know-McNabb seems to have confidence in Greg Lewis who has caught just about everything thrown his way.

I posted this a while ago in some other thread, but McNabb's numbers are actually worse when he throws to Owens than they are when he throws to anyone else. Of course, McNabb sends most of his passes TO's way so his numbers are ridiculously inflated. Burn him.

TO's "distractions" haven't hurt this team at all. Not even a little bit. The lack of execution and production from DEs, STs and lack of running game has hurt us.

TO is the best receiver in football and he makes the team better. How can someone of us stand it? I can't answer for anyone else, but he gives the Eagles a better chance to win than without him and that is a fact. The arrogance, selfishness is meaningless. I actually like it a little bit because it pisses off all the nancy boys. Get used to TO and just live with it. By next year you'll have to just let it go and understand his greatness. The Eagles understand it, that's why they are and will continue to put up with his BS in exchange for his talent.

It's not that he doesn't have confidence in Lewis or LJ, but I never see him try to needle passes to them like he does to Owens, or just toss a ball with a minimal chance of being completed (with the exception of downfield passes) G. Lewis' way.

as rjs said TO's cancerous nature outweights his numbers...why cant they get a good wr who isnt the biggest icehole thats ever lived

Yes, it is too much. On top of that we need one that fits the WCO. So let's look at all the WRs out there that can give us production near(but maybe not quite as good) as TO, but with less baggage. These may or may not be WCO receivers.

Chad Johnson - untouchable
Marvin Harrison - untouchable
Randy Moss - untouchable(less locker room baggage)
Steve Smith - untouchable
Torry Holt - untouchable

Those are the only players who will give close to TO production throughout a season. If you want less baggage than TO and a player that realistically we could get then the talent is going to be a significant dropoff. Talent and production far outweighs the baggage. It's better to take the baggage because it doesn't hurt the team. If you think it does you are clueless, and letting your bias get in the way.

There is one player that the Eagles could get if TO is gone(and he won't be), but if somehow he is then Chris Chambers MAY be an option. Even that is a big stretch, but he hasn't had a 1,000 yard receiving season yet, but I think that is because of his QB situation. The guy has great hands, very good athleticism, and decent speed. He's someone I would like to go after if the TO situation blows up again, but again even that is unlikely and even he wouldn't come close to TO's numbers.

Chambers would be a pretty good fit here.  I could see him putting up the same type of numbers Irvin Fryar did in his first couple of years with the Eagles.

He's not shook, he knows thats his biggest threat on the field. You shore do claim to know a lot about what Dmac is thinking.

One reason Dmac's numbers might not be that good throwing to Owens is because he's plain out missed him when he's been wide open a good many times this year. Throwing in the grass or way over his head. This crap about TO dropping passed is bull. He drops a few, as does any reciever, but he makes plays that will make you forget about the drops.

I can't wait until next year when his ass is gone and destroying some other team.

Will you try and explain it by saying the player you hate drops passes? Do you actually think that TO drops more passes than an injured McNabb throws incompletion's??

Your constant trashing of TO's attitude might have some validation, but trashing his abilities doesn't wash with me. He's by far the best receiver on this team, one of the best in the whole NFL, and saying McNabbs numbers are worse when he throws to TO, because it's TO he's throwing to, defiantly doesn't make a hell of a lot of sense.

I know, let's throw to Lewis and McMullen all the time so McNabbs numbers are better, that will translate into wins.  ::)

Actually, he needs to hand off more and have this offense get some farging rushing yards if it's at all possible.

But when he does pass, he needs to look for TO first, because TO is the #1 playmaker on this offense, not Bwest, not Dmac, not anyone else but TO. No matter what anyone thinks of TO and his ridiculous antics, his bashing the qb, the front office, the coach, this team wins  with TO, not without him.

I'm not trashing TO's ability. I'm saying that sending the call his way on 50% of our passing plays is not even remotely justified. Reid has always prided himself on spreading the ball around, but now that TO is on the team they spread the ball around less than they ever have and when they pass to Owens McNabb's numbers actually get worse. This isn't rocket science.

McNabb completes a little over 50% of his passes to TO while he is well over 60% to other receivers. Am I saying that he should stop throwing to TO? No. Of course not. I'm saying that having TO on this team means that McNabb throws more passes to one guy than he ever has and when he does he completes less of them. Since we never ever run the ball and the pass is used as part of the running game that is a whole hell of a lot more plays where we gain no yards and lose a down. TO has negatively impacted our play-calling, which wasn't that stellar to begin with. If McNabb was completing 60% of his passes to TO then it would ALMOST justify passing to him on almost 40% of the total offensive play calls, but he doesn't. So there is no justification.

Look. The dude is talented. But his ability has skewed the play-calling and the way that McNabb runs this offense. Add that to his personality bullshtein and it all adds up to me not wanting him around. Justify his presence all you want, it isn't that difficult to do. You'll never convince me that he's good for this team.

McNabb completes a little over 50% of his passes to TO while he is well over 60% to other receivers.

TO has 556 total yards.
37 recepts.
15.0 yd. avg.
4 td's
68 long

Bwest 292 total yds.
25 recepts.
11.7 avg.
3 td's
62 long

L.J. 287 yds.
28 recepts.
10.3 avg.
2 td's
23 long

G. Lewis 239 yds.
21 recepts.
11.4 avg.
1 td.
34 long

To has almost twice as many yards as anyone on the team, with a total of 12 more receptions than the next highest player on the team. He has a 15 yard avg. which is 5 yards more than the next receiver on the team. His 4 td's are the most on the team. And you question McNabb going to him more than any other player because of his completion percentage? Thats ridiculous. You say TO has negatively impacted our playcalling?? Like it wasn't under question before TO got here. I can't see your logic, your thinking is blinded by your hate for TO.

I'd like to know were you got your info of McNabbs comp. percentage being less to TO than other players, I looked and can't find it. I'm not saying that it's not true, I just want to look at it and compare it to the other receivers on the team on a individual basis instead of lumped together, as you have seemed to do. My thinking being that I could understand it if his competion percentage is higher if it's to Bwest, who's catching most of his passes out of the backfield and short. It's only ten percent anyway if you go by what your saying.

Shore,

My take it this:  McNabb has become somewhat locked on TO as the primary receiver.  No doubt that he is by far the best receiver in the game, but one of the strengths of the Eagles' offense was it's penchant to use everyone on the field.  That has become less so with Owens, especially this season.

I don't have a problem with Owens getting more balls than the others.  He should as the number 1 receiver.  Sometimes, though, I have noticed McNabb trying to force the ball to Owens when there has been another receiver more open.

If the Eagles were 4-1 and had not lost badly to the Cowboys, this argument wouldn't be happening.  Hopefully the Eagles can destroy the Chargers today and put the doubts to rest, albeit temporarily.  :-\

I think you're missing the statistic that RJS is most focused on:  no. times thrown to vs. no. receptions.  This is a stat that's a little dangerous, because it depends on a- TO drops, b- catchable passes, c- how the defense is defending him.  And while I don't have the actual stat, I'm inclined to agree with RJS, that TO is probably the worst receiver on the team in this statistic, largely because he's in a crowd, and I'll wager getting deeper patterns, which are lower percentage.
We do need to spread the ball around to be effective, and having TO-lock from the QB is not an effective strategy.

Everyone except the 3rd and 4th receivers and the 2nd TE caught multiple passes. In all nine guys caught passes. How much more do you want the ball spread out?

We need to design in some plays so the center and guards get involved.  You know, tip the ball so they become eligible.  The D will never see Honeybuns coming!

If we're playing a defense that blind we're not gonna need trick plays, we're gonna need quieter shoes.

Great! So the list of games where McNabb didn't get 100% locked in on TO this season now reads like this:

10/23 - vs. San Diego

Every time Terrell Owens has caught a touchdown pass, the Philadelphia Eagles have won.

It's when Owens is kept out of the end zone and prevented from performing one of his innovative celebrations that the Eagles have trouble.

The Eagles are 17-4 in games Owens has played, including a 24-21 loss to New England in the Super Bowl. They are 13-0 when Owens scores a TD, 4-4 when he doesn't.

Bob Ford | How to get T.O. to talk: Be sneaky

By Bob Ford

Inquirer Columnist

Normally, it doesn't really bother me that Terrell Owens won't talk to me. I try not to take these things personally. After all, it isn't as if Terrell won't talk to only me. He won't talk to just about everyone in the media.

There are a few exceptions. He will speak to Michael Irvin on one of those NFL pregame shows, although I couldn't even tell you which network that is. And every now and then, he'll stop for a television camera if he is in the mood. That was the case at practice this week, when Colleen Dominguez of ESPN got a brief interview during which Owens said that he and Brian Westbrook should get the ball more often. Oooh.

The ESPN people were so happy after getting Terrell on camera they were high-fiving afterward, and that's when it hit me. Getting Terrell Owens to answer your question is a big deal these days. If you're going to be a big-time player, you have to find a way to get that question answered.

Now, Terrell is hardly the first athlete who wouldn't speak to me. I can remember coming into the Phillies' clubhouse and seeing Bake McBride with a big rectangle of athletic tape across his mouth after a game. I can remember the glacial stare of Steve Carlton. But Carlton wouldn't converse with anyone. Didn't matter if it was Bryant Gumbel or Bus Saidt. He wasn't talking.

Owens is more of a challenge. He's out there to be landed if you happen to be in the right boat.

So the only question was whether to be straightforward - march up to the man, state your business, and then watch him turn away as if you were lint on the rug - or to be sneaky.

Careful readers will be able to guess my decision.

It seems that, for whatever reason, Owens is a regular weekly guest on the Miami radio show of Dan Le Batard, a very popular program on 790-The Ticket in which the Miami Herald columnist dominates the local drive time. Or drive-by time, since we're talking about Miami.

The show is picked up every Friday evening by WIP-AM (610) and broadcast during Howard Eskin's show. WIP reportedly paid $50,000 for the rights, which should tell you how rare and valuable Owens' words have become.

I called Le Batard, but there was something wrong with the phones down there this week. Something about a storm. Persistent as always, I sent him an e-mail saying I had some questions I wanted him to ask Owens. He replied, grousing about the hurricane and saying he had no phone line and could only get on a computer once a day. Sheesh. And he told me to send the list.

It was then I realized I needed to come up with some questions.

Actually, I did have a couple. I wanted to know if Owens was frustrated because quarterback Donovan McNabb has seemed unable to throw a deep pass for the last month or so. He didn't have a completion longer than 23 yards against Dallas and, except for a 36-yarder to Billy McMullen, his longest completion in the San Diego game was 15 yards.

Also, in a related matter, I wanted to know why Owens seems to be catching the ball and then making a direct turn toward the sideline these days. He has always been a receiver who makes significant yardage after the catch, but appears to be looking to get out of bounds and avoid contact. Is he protecting himself from injury, unwilling to put his body on the line for an organization that wouldn't improve his contract? Just wondering.

I didn't hear back from Dan - must have been that hurricane - but waited expectantly when the show came on last night. As you can imagine, when my questions were asked, I was ecstatic. I put a dish towel over my arm, put my notebook in an upturned hand, and paraded around the living room like a waiter.

Answering the first question, Owens said, "Well, you know there's really nothing I can do about that. I've really been at peace with myself, and I've said to myself there's no reason for me to get frustrated when you know the obvious."

He added, "Unfortunately, we haven't been able to get any deep throws for whatever reason. I can't really speculate into that."

Owens tried to dance around the question about running out of bounds, which Le Batard acknowledged came by e-mail from a listener, before T.O. finally declared: "He's watching a different game than everybody else."

Maybe so. Must be my imagination.

Terrell didn't make much news last night. He has previously said that he wouldn't have signed with the Eagles or played in the Super Bowl if he knew how he'd eventually be treated.

Last night, he just gave a "no comment" when asked if he'd be in Philly next season. He said he was selling his Moorestown house because "I want to, and it's mine." Those were the highlights.

He did mention that since joining the Eagles, the team is 13-0 when he plays and scores a touchdown and 4-4 when he plays but doesn't score a touchdown. Those statistics speak for themselves, Owens said.

Interesting, and the kind of thing that deserves a follow-up. If I can only get Michael Irvin to answer the phone, I've got just the question for him.

>:D

I actually got a chuckle out of it.

Shocking.  Shocking, I say.
