Title: TO- own segment on radio
Post by: MURP on September 02, 2005, 11:21:34 AM
great.

QuoteT.O. to talk - on radio

TERRELL OWENS IS ABOUT to break his trouble-free silence and start talking to people other than select Eagles teammates and coaches. T.O. has cut a deal to be a regular guest/co-host at 5 p.m. every Friday, starting next week, on 790-AM, a k a The Ticket, in Miami. Owens will call in and join host Dan Le Batard, of the Miami Herald, for football talk - but only for a brief segment.

The advance hype made it sound as if T.O. would do his own show. Hardly. In fact, T.O. publicist Kim Etheredge said he would not take phone calls on what she said would be a "10-minute segment." Alan Brown, vice president of communications for The Ticket, said the window will be 20 minutes of "unfiltered football talk with T.O. and Dan" that will include calls if time allows. Brown kiddingly said Le Batard will cut to the issues of the day and try "to bring out the otherwise shy T.O."

Prediction: The T.O. Circus could soon be

returning to Philly. Give it a day or so after Owens debuts on Sept. 9. It's unavoidable, isn't it? Unless a local station picks up the syndicated show - Sports Talk 950, which debuts Oct. 3, is interested - the only place Eagles fans (and media, no doubt) will be able to listen is over the Internet (www.790theticket.com). No word yet on whether Donovan McNabb will be T.O.'s first guest. Sick.

You're gonna love it even more when he's airing the teams dirty laundry live for the world to hear. The atmosphere around the Eagles that Reid has worked so hard to establish (you know, the one where they deal with problems internally and approach the business as a team) is about to go out the farging window. farging dumb ass.

Reid knows every single thing that is going on with this team. This radio thing has been reported for 2 days now, I'm SURE he knows about it and I'm SURE he's already spoken to TO about it. If he hasn't, I'm SURE he will.

I'm sure they never spoke other than when he came back from his suspension. I'm sure that they never spoke before his suspension. Or in the offseason. Or last season. Or before they signed him. I'm sure that AR never once mentioned to TO that there was a certain way things are done in Philly. That's why TO was such a raging prick this offseason. AR had never talked to him about the way he was supposed to act. It's all making sense now!

They had a 5 minute conversation after TO came back from suspension. What was said and how do you think that went? I mean, the guy couldn't shut up and now he hasn't done anything but work and now is talking to his teammates (other than DMac) as well. What do you think Reid said to him?

I don't have any idea what Reid said to him. Nor do I care. My point, which you are either missing or ignoring, is that TO has never once shown the ability to keep his mouth shut under pressure so why should we believe that he will now?

He's been quiet for two weeks! Whoopdy Doo! Only with TO would that be considered some sort of accomplishment. The dude has the mentality of a spoiled child. Giving him a live forum to speak to the masses is a bad farging idea.

He's older and more at risk for not getting a long term deal ANYWHERE because of his mouth, antics and age. Some people had to have told him that if he fargs this up, he fargs up his career. Period.

TO's gonna tell everyone. TO ain't happy. TO needs this TO needs that. TO. TO TO TO. I luv me sum me. TO TO. TO? Yeah, TO.' And that's all. No farging chance this douche should be on the air.

Andy and TO came to an agreement. I don't know what was said in that meeting, but if TO was going to rip someone he would've done it by now. He's going to shut his yap and won't trash the team or any players. If so he would've done it by now. If you think he's going to risk getting suspended for the entire season by picking apart the team on his radio show, you guys are absolutely clueless. It's going to be stuff like:

"I told you guys I was going to have a great season and I proved it on sunday."

On his contract: "I know what I think I'm worth, Andy knows what he thinks I'm worth, but I'm just going to go out there and catch touchdowns every week and put on a show."

It's going to be stuff like that.

Let's get down to the nitty gritty then. If TO rips his team on his first radio show next week, or rips Mcnabb then you can tell me what to change my username to for a week. If he doesn't then I will suggest a username to you and you change yours for a week. It has to be something concrete like stuff he's said in the past. You can't take comments and spin them your own way, and neither can I.

Title: Re: TO- own segment on radio
Post by: WEST is GOD on September 02, 2005, 04:49:01 PM
That's interesting because I didn't say never. The thing about it is that if TO does have a blow-up this season and I don't think he will.... but if he does and he gets pissed off and wants to vent to the media, he'll do it right after the game or in the locker room. He doesn't need to wait until friday of next week to do it. By then he will have cooled off a bit. If he does say something on that radio station, it will be backwash of what he already said to the Philly media. It won't be anything new or groundbreaking.

As long as things are calm on the TO front I don't expect him to lash out on the team. For example if on friday he is asked about his contract he isn't going to go on another rant again. He already got that out of his system. If there is a blow-up during the season like I said earlier he might say something on there, but he would have already vented to the media by friday of the next week.

My whole point was only if there were no blow-ups. A lot of posters in this thread think this is a disaster waiting to happen. That tells me they think the radio show will make him start trashing people again while things are calm. He'll only do it following a blow-up in which he would've already trashed the team by friday.

You're all missing the point here...

It's all about who TO is doing the show with.

Dan LeBatard is one of those controversial nutjobs. He strives on stoking the flames.

TO answers questions honestly and doesn't know when to STFU.

LeBatard + TO = firestorm capabilities.

And two Philly stations have tried to get syndicated rights to the show. Their station manager said they know they're sitting on a gold mine.

I doubt he would axe him from doing it though. If he did, he'd start a big ol' mess. He'd be taking money from TO's pocket since they're obviously paying him to talk. And like 476 other Eagles have talk shows too. So TO would be like "Why me and not them?"

Tetanus (lockjaw)
A common first sign of tetanus is muscular stiffness in the jaw (lockjaw), followed by stiffness of the neck, difficulty in swallowing, rigidity of abdominal muscles, and spasms.

Is there a Dr. in the house? I need to know. Can someone have a mild case of lockjaw? Just the stiffness of the jaw! Don't want any of the other crap, just unable to open the mouth for any reason other than taking nourishment.

TO's answering questions on his MB again:

QuoteQ - Hey Terrell, nice to see you logged TMB again. Man, this summer was crazy with all the saga going on but it's game time now and Im excited for this year season. Lets go to the Super Bowl again this year and win that trophy as the first Super Bowl win in history for the Eagles

A - I'M DOWN WITH THAT!

Q - What do you feel is Brian's value to this team? In your opinion do you believe that you could get to the Super Bowl without him?

A - HEY, THEY GOT 2 THE SUPER BOWL W/OUT ME!!

Q - Hey T.O., what's going on?!?

I'm curious as to how you think the Eagles will do this year? Are you guys going to win the Super Bowl this year, especially with you...?

By the way, what do you think about Alex Smith making as much money as Tom Brady? Something's not right about that if you ask me...

Good luck T.O., have a very productive and healthy season.

A - WE WILL MAKE THE PLAYOFFS AND MAKE A RUN @ THE BOWL AGAIN, AND THIS EAGLE WILL READY 2 FLY!

Q - Nice to see these forums opened. Nothing more refreshing than seeing an NFL player take the time to address his fans. I was also impressed with how fast you got the McDougle story up on the site. You have a great team of webmasters. Also I like the new buttons, alot smoother layout! Anyways, hang in there, fly strong, and hope to see you have another breakout season!

A - THANX, LOOKIN 4WARD 2 THE SEASON, PLAYOFFS & SUPERBOWL!

Q - What do you feel about the release of Corey Simon?

Personally I think that the Eagles are sending a message that no one is bigger than the team and they can find replacements for anyone. Do you agree with that?

Also, everyone is talking about your groind injury, how is the ankle? Is it close to 100%?

A - LET 'EM SEND A MSG, BELIEVE ME, I SENT ONE 2, WHETHER THEY ADMIT OR NOT! MY GROIN IS FINE, I'LL B READY, JUST WSN'T N FOOTBALL SHAPE B/C I REHABBED ANKLE ALL OFFSEASON, ANKLE IS FINE!

Q - What music you listenin to inside them headphones?

A - MY BROTHER RAPPING!

Q - youve been asked the same questions like a million times and give the same answer every time, so i wont even bother going there.

Who do you think is gonna be this years Chargers? You know, that team that has a complete turnaround and completely breaks out.

A - WHO KNOWS? WILL WORRY ABOUT THEM IF WE FACE 'EM N THE SB!

Sounds like he's taking his meds again.

QuoteI think the Eagles, believe it or not, are still open to paying Terrell Owens his $7.5-million option bonus next March and keeping him. Andy Reid told me the other day it's in the 2006 budget. Not to say they'll do it if he's divisive this year, but they're at least open to it.

QuoteT.O. to talk - on radio

Sick.

You can just listen online.  ::) And you won't have to deal with Eskin to hear it.

I'm certain that Banner has the cap planned out at least 2 or 3 years in advance.  So when they signed TO last year, he probably started crunching numbers to make room for the 2006 season since that would be the most beneficial time to try and re-work TO's contract because of all the bonus money he would be owed.  Whether or not the Eagles will try and keep TO around long term or not is yet to be seen but it doesn't surprise me at all that they already have the money set aside to do so.

Maybe if you listened to something other than ESKIN (like the streaming online LIVE version of the show), you'd hear that because the team has a Monday night game, TO is on a different practice/meeting schedule than if they had a Sunday game. This is a weekly show time, which will be altered according to TO's practice/meeting schedules....like Monday night games.

Said he was just "having fun" with the media outside of the house...even though they wanted him to be out there raging and yelling about what was going on. He said he was amused watching the media all over it. Said he thought it was hilarious and didn't know why some players were pissed (Ray Ray) that he was on TV, that he didn't force the media to start covering it the way they did.

He said things have changed with him and Dmac and their friendship since last season when the host of the show did the ESPN the Mag piece with them.

Said he's not going to do anymore interviews after Irvin and everyone will be able to hear what he has to say and he'll let his football play do the talking for him all season.

Doesn't bother him what people say when he's on the field playing.

Title: Re: TO- own segment on radio

Said he's putting his contract situation on the shelf for now and he's just going to get to playing football. That its NOT an issue right now.

And that at the end of the season, when the EAGLES WIN THE SUPER BOWL, they will work out the contract stuff. :drool

Tells Eagles fans not to worry about him dogging it, he'd never do it.

QuoteOwens said he's cleared the air with McNabb

By ROB MAADDI, AP Sports Writer
September 9, 2005

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Terrell Owens and Donovan McNabb have resolved their feud, according to the enigmatic All-Pro wide receiver.

Owens said Friday in a radio interview on Miami's 790 AM that he spoke to McNabb and the two Philadelphia Eagles stars are "getting along just fine.''

"We both have a mutual respect for each other and I think we probably understand that both of us may have been wrong in the situation, but that's between Donovan and I,'' Owens said.

Owens started the friction in April when he took a shot at McNabb, saying he "wasn't the guy who got tired in the Super Bowl.''

McNabb responded harshly, insisting he didn't get sick and wasn't tired in the fourth quarter of the Eagles' 24-21 loss to New England eight months ago.

After he was banished from camp last month following a heated dispute with coach Andy Reid, Owens again went after McNabb, calling the five-time Pro Bowl quarterback a hypocrite. Owens has changed his act since returning to practice, and hasn't caused any disruptions.

Owens isn't speaking to reporters in Philadelphia, but did a television interview with ESPN's Michael Irvin earlier this week and is scheduled to appear weekly on the radio station in Miami.

"I don't hate Donovan. I never hated Donovan. I was frustrated at the time. There was emotion. I have a right to do that,'' Owens said. "I don't have a problem. I'm not too proud to go up to Donovan and say, 'Let's work this out, or let's play ball and put everything behind us.' I'm not too proud to do that, not at all.''

Asked on Thursday if he had spoken to Owens, McNabb wouldn't comment.

"When we're out on that field, we have the best relationship possible, to be the best at what we do,'' McNabb said.

Despite their icy relationship, McNabb and Owens had no trouble on the field. In their lone appearance together in the preseason, the two connected five times for 131 yards, including a 64-yard touchdown pass on the first play from scrimmage in a victory over Cincinnati on Aug. 26.

Both players celebrated that score separately with other teammates and ignored each other throughout the game, but Owens said he's now broken the silence.

Owens dominated the headlines this offseason with his demand for a new contract just one season into the seven-year, $48.97 million deal he signed when he came to Philadelphia in March 2004.

The Eagles have refused to redo the deal.

"It'll get resolved one way or another,'' Owens said. "Right now, we'll put the contract situation on the shelf, but after we win the Super Bowl, it'll get revisited.''

I'm listening to his show and a few of his ball suckers are calling in and asking about TO. And Howard says "I'll be sure to bring it up on his show on Friday. I'll ask him."

He's making it sound like since WIP is simulcasting the show that it is actually his TO show. And people believe him!
