Roster Predictions? Here's my view, but I could be wrong.......
QB-McNabb (Detmer, McMahon)
RB-Westbrook, Moats (Perry)
FB-Ritchie
WR-Owens, G.Lewis, R.Brown (McCants, Perez)
TE-LJ Smith (Spach, Bartrum)
OL-Runyan, Andrews, Fraley, Hicks, T.Thomas (Herremans, Clarke, Furio, Armstrong, Young)
K-Akers
P-Landeta
DE-Kearse, Kalu (Douglas, J.Thomas, Cole)
DT-H.Thomas, Walker (Rayburn, Mike Patterson, Grasmanis)
LB-Adams, Trotter, D.Jones (Simoneau, Labinjo, Short, Martin Patterson)
CB-S.Brown, Sheppard (Hood, Ware, Wynn)
S-M.Lewis, Dawkins (Mikell, Considine)
The GENERAL's Wishlist of Notable Cuts - McMullen (WR), Mahe(RB), Sciullo (OG), Green (DE)
*I think Martin Patterson has barely beat out McCoy for a roster spot*
*I think Considine barely beat out Thornburg for a roster spot, but only because of his "projected" playmaking ability. Thornburg was a beast this preseason.

Seems pretty accurate to me.
I don't think Reggie Brown is going to make the team, personally.
McCoy's a 2nd round pick, how's he get beat out for a roser spot?

Uh Oh, big talking man behind behind a computer screen......
You should challenge him to a duel at dawn.
It's simple, really. If you don't understand that the Eagles would not cut 2nd round pick Matt McCoy after only one unremarkable pre-season into his rookie season, then you are an utter dolt.
I can't help you. Only you can help yourself.

Fine. Cabbage, broccoli, whatever. As long as they kill each other.
I hate everybody. But mostly you.

Shut up and dance you sexy fool.
Basically, just trying to keep it football; had the facts fixed up; thought Martin Patterson was the second-round pick, not McCoy. My bad....
Why the hostility? I've been a member for a while and I rarely post. For all this negative attention I might as well head back to the EMB and join a message board clique....

Well, at least you explained that your stupid mistake was confusing Martin Patterson with Matt McCoy. I guess it's easy to do, what with all the M's and tt's floating around. But, in the future, you should always give the benefit of the doubt to the Mc____ names when it comes to making the Eagles roster. Duh.

Agreed PG, he and Trent Cole showed the most last night. But, I have a feeling Reno survives the cut and stays on the team until Wynn can return for PR duties, at least. With the changed rules for the PS this season, can Perry go on it for this year?
Grasmanis may have played his last game as an Eagle, though.
Not to over-react to one game, but Jason Short looked frequently out of position last night. But, he's on the team mostly to blow up the wedge, so I think he'll make it.

Mahe can't be on the Practice Squad. He either makes the team or gets cut outright.
Mahe has never been on the P.S. before-- he's made the roster each year he's been in the league.
I thought the rule was that a player cannot log more than 2 consecutive years on the same team's practice squad at the same position.
Are you saying that if a player has made a team outright during the previous year, then he cannot be put on that team's P.S. the next one?

To be eligible for the practice squad,
a player must have less than one full season in the league but a one year player is still eligible if he was inactive on game day for more than nine games during his season. You can only be on the practice squad two years. Teams are free to sign players from other teams' practice squad, but to their active roster only
just throw him into the sun.

Other Predictions
1. Dirk Johnson will be placed on the PUP list
2. Sean Landeta will be initially released and then re-signed so his full salary is not guaranteed. But he will be the punter until week 6 and then Dirk gets the job.
3. Reno Mahe stays on as the PR until Dexter Wynn comes back healthy
4. Bruce Perry will be signed from the practice squad to replace Reno Mahe
5. When McDougle is ready to come off the PUP list, Bruce Perry will be released and re-signed to the PS. The Eagles will then carry 6 DE's.
1/2. I don't think Dirk will be placed on PUP unless they're sure he can't go for more than 2 games or so. Landeta has not been exactly BOOMING the ball, and Akers can fill in for one game or two to avoid being stuck with Landeta for the first 6 weeks of the season.
3/4/5. I don't know the rules about the practice squad, but I highly doubt the team would bother keeping Mahe to PR, only to drop him when Wynn's back in favor of Perry, only to drop Perry when McDougle comes back. It's a ton more likely that if they feel they need Mahe, they'll keep him until McDougle comes back or drop him when Wynn's healthy for a new acquisition.
You might be right, but I just see your extra predictions as a bit contrived.

I don't think they'll do this. Landeta couldn't be signed until game 2.
It wouldn't be wise to go with Akers as punter vs. a team that'll probably be competing against us for home field advantage.
I could be wrong on that, Larry. But didn't they sign Levens last year after cutting him in the PS?
The practice squad is almost never made up of people from the Eagles camp. It's usually a compilation of players from various teams.

Yes they did.
They did not sign Levens until after week 1, as some have already tried to make quite clear. In mop-up time in the 4th quarter, both Mahe and Tapeh saw carries... but not a one for Levens. No way in hell he doesn't get at least one carry at the end of that rout if he's on the team.
