Pimp is one of those players who has more value to his current team than he does to the rest of the league. Practically every team would love to have him, but I doubt anyone would go any higher than a 2nd rounder for him.  So unless the Eagles are able to flat out rape a team in a trade, just restructure his contract and move forward.

I was going to post something along those lines. He and Lesean have a take it to the house big play ability that is synergistic in Chips offense and wouldn't work as well with most other teams. But that said though I don't get why people think they should re-do his contract, I don't see any real advantages either way (i.e. either converting remaining guaranteed money into this coming year or converting salary into future prorated guaranteed money).

Agree they wouldn't get more than a second at most for him because teams generally can't give up that much while at the same time taking on $11 million/year in salary. The rape exception could be a coach/gm on the hot seat who needs to win now to keep a job, so if they thought DeSean was that piece to win now they might bite and let the future take care of itself.

No way you can put DeSean and LeSean in the same category. Shady is a top 3 RB no matter what offense you put him in.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

I wasn't saying they are equally good at their positions, just that they they both have legit big play ability which lets them work synergistically in a way DeSean wouldn't be able to in other offenses.

Munson

My bad, I thought you were saying that Shady also wouldn't work as well with most other teams. He's the type of RB that will work on any team if said team gives him the ball.

until pimp loses a step hed be equally dangerous in every offense in the nfl....shady on the other hand wouldnt really work in a pro set.....hed still be good dont get me wrong but its not ideal for him...shady is the better player no doubt but hes also the more easily replaceable and probably the less important player

theres at least five other running backs in the league right now that would do in this offense what shady does...and while there are many better wide receivers in the league thatn pimp there may not be anyone who can run like him....his speed doesnt grow on trees like pass catching rb's do

shtein the running back shady replaced on the eagles would probably be better in chips offense than shady is....so if the eagles can have two guys like that in less than five years it cant be that difficult to find someone

I wonder if DeSean is asking for more money because Beiber is tapping his model ho-piece now

Jackson actually ripped the ball from the DB on the touchdown.  Never saw him do that before.
