Back in 2009-10, Democrats held both Senate seats in Arkansas

i googled this to make sure its true...it is

i still find it impossible to believe. one of them was re elected on the same ballot as obama. howwwwwwwwww

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

ice grillin you

two things are all i could think about the whole time i was reading it 1) thank farging god bernie wasnt the nominee and 2) sexism might be on par with racism in this country
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

MDS

i think bernie wins in 2016 but yeah he gets curb stomped into submission this year

and sexism is higher than racism actually. think about how many people in pennsyltucky gladly voted for obama twice then the second a woman comes around they join a cult

I actually think Bernie takes it. He would have been able to snake more WWC voters than Biden did. He prob doesn't win Georgia though. AZ is a maybe, he had a much better relationship with Latino voters in the southwest than Biden did. But he still probably pulls off WI/MI/PA which is all that was needed.

Warren, who I originally thought was a more palatable Bernie, would have lost. The sexism really is insane. Still way too many older dudes who afraid of powerful/smart women and find them too "bitchy".

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Oh, there's plenty of young guys that think that, too. The White Supremacist pipeline has been all over that for a decade, and even before then the culture was already in place online.

Bernie/Warren would have gotten smoked. No way they retake the blue wall.

there is just no way bernie pulls the votes joe got in NEPA and out of the burbs. the margins were insane in the collars. comfortable white people are not voting for a farging socialist like that. joe shaved points in every single rural pennsyltucky county. trump tried to make biden out to be a socialist...the message didnt stick but imagine how easy it wouldve stuck on an actual socialist.

bernie already proved he had no ability to get the coalition he needed to actually vote. so yes thank you jesus pete/amy/bloomberg all bailed after south carolina and super tuesday and put their weight behind biden.

Correct. Bernie would've been slaughtered. It wouldn't have been close.

You think people went in on Biden being a socialist? If Bernie is atop the ticket they would've likened him to every socialist leader ever.

MDS

the only net positive of bernie getting crushed wouldve been seeing the bern bros cry

Bernie's appeal was taylor made for the blue wall states. WWC voters like him. I've read way too many "I'd vote for Bernie" takes from those types to think he couldn't beat Trump there. It's AZ/GA where i have my doubts. Bernie doesn't have the same pull with black voters and never will, so GA was probably out unless Abrams works her magic even better. He did do very well with Latino voters out west though and his campaign worked hard to make inroads with them, so I'm less skeptical of AZ considering it seemed destined to go blue this year with Mark Kelly on the ticket.

Still waiting on more data to come in but seniors swinging a few points to Joe in the right spots seems to be the big difference in a lot of these rural counties where trumps margins shrunk. I don't know if the admins "let the old people die" attitude would have driven them to the Dem either way or of Grandpa Joe has a special appeal there.

I truly don't see any woman winning anytime soon, it's soooo much worse than I imagined. But then again, we might not see turnout like this from the right if there's no vote by mail or Trump on the ballot in 2024. So who knows. But right now in 2020? Pretty convinced Warren/Amy/Harris/anyone else probably loses. Just an insane turnout for Trump.

I spent a day with a retired SS person recently.  He mentioned numbers of people "down" that were not publicly known.  They were high.

On the one hand, score one for the free press:  perhaps it will help the public to understand how badly this White House red zone is.

On the other hand, this is some state secret type information that we really do not need Putin, al-Zawahiri, or their ilk knowing.

Let's just go ahead and assume every world leader with an interest already knows.

I'm sure that's how the Secret Service is operating...still, not good to have it out there at all from the perspective of national security.
