richard jewell - a strong paul walter houser performance aside, this was a typically sloppy piece of right wing propaganda. the real villains are the deep state and the media. the real hero is some lunatic wannabe cop who got extraordinarily lucky that he was overzealous at the right time. they smeared a good woman named kathy scruggs who simply reported what the fbi told here. farg you clint eastwood you geriatric trump supporting racist. 0/5

bad education - rare for an hbo movie to be this good but here we are. not sure hugh jackman has ever been better. great story about greed, sociopathy and hubris all centered around a farging school district on long island. you get sucked into this little world and cant see whats in front of your face. go watch this. 4/5

olympus has fallen - a monstrous piece of garbage that knows its a piece of garbage. terrorist porn, awful script, awful special effects, awful everything. but its farging fun. its so stupid and so brain dead but its fun. there are 2 others. i need to see them. 5/5

moon - sam rockwell does sam rockwell things but you have to be a sci fi nerd to love it. 1.5/5

ex machina - hang tough for the scene where alicia vikander and her shaven box are on full display. getting there is a challenge. i need to stop watching these sci fi movies. 2/5

doubt - ok movie amplified by PSH and meryl. amy adams gets some work in too. feel like this wouldve been a really good stage production. 2.5/5

yesterday - high concept movie where nobody knows the beatles exist turns way too serious and sappy. john lennons son plays john lennon and looks...exactly like john lennon. its a weird movie that doesnt make sense but if you like the beatles you will enjoy this  because 95% of the movie is just beatles songs. it was better than the queen movie, so theres that. 2/5
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I can't even name the last good sci-fi movie off the top of my head. Was it Rogue One?

The man. The myth. The legend.

Eagles_Legendz

I unapologetically love Edge of Tomorrow.   Perfect action / sci-fi if you're looking for a movie of that genre (last 15 mins notwithstanding).

ice grillin you

i rather enjoyed edge of tomorrow until it got tunnel vision and only became about killing the master alien....the premise and plot of the first 45 min or hour was top notch...kinda reminded me of a quiet place in that way which is another not awful sci fi movie

phattymatty

this lockdown making me watch a whole bunch of brainless shoot em up flicks.

extraction.  John wick like.  lots of up close face shots.

Spencer for hire.  awful Marky mark bahstan shoot fest.

I liked them both and hate myself for it. Chris Hemsworth is such a dreamboat.

PhillyPhreak54

Lol I liked the Spencer one too

the way back - if you ever wondered if shooter from HOOSIERS became the coach but it was played by husky ben affleck...well here you go. theres a number of things wrong with the basketball and the film itself, and im not even going to get into affleck who i cannot stand. the mostly pointless plot and unnecessarily dark cinematography didnt help. 1/5

blazzing saddles - i cant transport myself to 1977 when this movie wouldve been shocking. but in 2020 when there is no comedic line that hasnt been crossed in something real or even in the youtube comments....yea. some laughs here and there, fun 4th wall breaking but ultimately an old dude movie thats culturally outdated and that nobody under 50 is going to like. 2/5

portrait of a lady on fire - come for the hot lesbian action, stay for the deep emotional character pieces of 18th century french ladies. small nitpick but both of these broads looked way too contemporary. other than that an awesomely shot, moving story with a fitting and rewarding ending. there barely any males with dialogue so skip this one marginassi. 4/5

tangerine - if you liked THE FLORIDA PROJECT, you will enjoy this. same director. same feel. this story is about two trans hookers and a armenian cab driver getting into some shtein on xmas eve in la. its shot on an iphone but you really dont even notice it after a few minutes. wayyyy better looking than when steve soderbergh did it. sean baker is a next level filmmaker. 4.5/5

london has fallen - continuing this god awful film series with an absolute piece of giraffe crap. not even remotely fun like the first one. sharknado level special effects. boring bad guys. only fun part was the racist way they killed all the world leaders. 0/5

hero has fallen - much better and much more fun and better looking than the 2nd. nick nolte as his dad added a unintentionally comedic element that eventually become comedic as during filming as they had to of figured out that nolte couldnt possibly be taken seriously. good run for cedric daniels, too. .5/5

the grand budapest hotel - put off seeing this for a while as i was sick of wes anderson doing wes anderson things, but this felt different. it was still very wes anderson and off the reservation white, but it less wes anderson than his previous films. if that makes any sense. his specific brand of hipster farce isnt the best thing for these terrible times, but it still works. all in all, this was just a lot of fun. 4/5

misery - did anyone ever notice jimmy caan mumbles every single line? like i couldnt understand a damn thing he said. turns out he was mostly loaded during filming. kathy bates literally carried his ass. still holds up relatively well if you havent seen it. 3.5/5

Eagles_Legendz

I thought The Way Back was pretty good actually but it's more a character story and less a sports movie.

ice grillin you

the way back was great...certainly better than the lil guys movie opinions which are ludicrously awful

Rome

Blazing Saddles is a masterpiece.  I'm not sure how anyone couldn't rate it that way but ok.

its an old man movie and youre old. a lot of the comedy is boundary pushing shock value. its 2020...the boundaries have been pushed. i cant pretend its 1977 and ive never seen comedy derived around the n word before. its probably not exactly fair to judge in this era, really.

ill readily admit my hatred for ben affleck clouded my judgement but the dude who loves robert de niro vampire movies aint got space to talk

going back on a number of things ive never got around to seeing because what else is there to do

for love of the game - i missed baseball enough to watch a 2 hour horribly acted love story. a wooden kevin costner and a not naked kelly preston ruin what otherwise was a pretty decent baseball movie. ditch the broad and focus on the game. 1.5/5

blue chips - seen bits and pieces but never the full thing. still holds relatively well though at the end when the press gives nick nolte a standing ovation i lost my mind. oh penny and shaq what couldve been. 3/5

chicago - im the wrong demo for a throwback movie musical but its a farging farce this won the oscar. mcnulty dies in the first 5 minutes. 2/5

natural born killers - imagine if a dog got diarrhea on a piece of paper. that was the script. then imagine if the most insane maga boomer man in the world got creative freedom to direct it. this move sucked in the 90s and it sucks now. 0/5

fatal attraction - misogynistic 80s movie where the man can act like the worlds biggest sleaze but looks like the hero because the bitch is crazy. the original ending (she kills herself but makes it look he killed her) wouldve made it 1000x better. 2.5/5

three kings - saw this around when it came out but didnt remember a thing. just an enormously fun movie where a insanely hot george clooney commands the screen like a boss. david o russell is a horrible person but can really direct, or at least he could. 4/5

the graduate - brilliantly made with a perfectly cut soundtrack but its *impossible* to get past a drop dead gorgeous woman, or really any woman, ruining her life to be with a guy who farged her mom. let alone a very strange and very short and very nebbishy jewish guy. its just preposterous. nobody would ever do this except in like alabama. if you get past that its an all timer but i could not. 2.5/5

y tu mama tambien - pitch perfect road trip movie about life, sex, friendship and what it means to be alive. theres plenty of nudity of all kinds so no matter what your preference is youll have a good time. if youve seen CHILDREN OF MEN or ROMA you can see where cauron began to master the long take. 4/5

bonnie and clyde - if you ignore the awful editing and sound mixing (i know, its the late 60s) it still holds up a masterpiece. one performance in particular (gene hackmans wife) is so hysterically over the top it kind of detracts from everything, but when you learn that the director requested it to make faye dunaway seem cooler -- of course, the only way to make a woman look cool is for another to look insane -- its justified. 4/5

SD

Brian Banks story - decent cast, I'm really familiar with the story but if you're not check it out. Two bitches ruin a mans life

Knives out - sucked. Ending was awful

Uncut Gems - Adam Sandler plays a Jew with a gambling problem. The story revolves around a rock, the Sixers/Celts 2012 series, bookies and Kevin Garnett. Ending was dumb.

#22213
da 5 bloods - disjointed at times and with one or four very strange choices i did not agree with (youll know one when you see it)...but other than that. boom. one of spike's best. he took a lot of swings here and most of it worked. delroy lindo was *phenomenal* and there was major supporting run for lestor freamon and clay davis. the last 30 minutes were some mighty powerful shtein. 4/5

the lobster - yorgos lanthimos takes the weird up one too many notches. stay for rachel weisz acting collin farrell back to the irish gutter they found him in. 2.5/5

jaws - i had never seen this all the way through. its a horror movie ? pretty mind blowing for 1977 with a very strangely prescient ignorant politician mixed in. 3.5/5 is the highest grade i can possibly give a horror movie

die hard - another thing i had never seen all the way through. the og of singular hero action movies and nobody can match the perfection, even with a prick like bruce willis at the center. 5/5

tootsie - so im not going to get into the transphobia. that is known. i want to describe the plot. dustin hoffman is a irritable actor. he is told he cannot find work because of his behavior. so, immediately, he dresses up like a woman to steal a job from his hook up. he proceeds to treat this, clearly disturbed, woman like garbage because he wants to farg peak jessica lange (we all do, but still). peak jessica lange's dad wants to farg lady dustin hoffman. bla bla bla everyone gets over it, she takes this 5'0 old jew in and end credits. what in the actual farg. 1/5 for the ridiculous 80s music.

20th century women - the marginassi special. really enjoyed this. its 1970something, a teenager has 3 women of different ages in his life and the stories of past, present and future are interwoven as he comes of age. good stuff. 4/5

cape fear - robert de niro gives an all time performance then about halfway through cant rein it in and goes 100 feet over the top. i have seen the simpsons episode mocking this about 25 times so kind of a weird experience. 3/5

your horrible taste was already known but giving die hard a bigger grade than jaws cements it in history unless you are just trolling and then the jokes on me
