black jack is fun and can be an easy way to walk out of the casino with a few bucks in your hand as long as the other people at your table know how to play.

roulette is fun too.  more fun than craps imo because the "dealers" can aim the ball and some of them fall into predictable patterns as to what section of the wheel they'll be throwing for.

blackjack's also probably the easiest way to walk out of the casino without any of your money.

not to split hairs, but any form of gambling is the easiest way to walk out of a casino without your money.  i just know that when i play black jack, i look for a table full of people who are having fun and have a reasonable understanding of the game.  i won't sit at a table full of "serious" players, jerkoffs or rookies.  find a good table, with good people and at the very worst, you'll walk out a few hours later with alot more bourbon in your liver than when you showed up and at least the same amount of chips you started with.

i've never really won "big" on black jack (maybe $400 is the most i've walked away from the table with) but i've definitely never lost big on a table either.  more often than not, i break even.

QuoteI personally enjoy playing roulette more than craps, but one of my boys was at a table during a good run and he made somethin like 800 bucks and as Reese said, when you get that many people gathering around cheering it's fun as shtein.

i farging love playing roulette.  it's so simple and requires very little thought, strategy or skill which is pretty much right in my wheel house.

munson takes buses to vegas and thinks hes some kind of expert poker player. just prepare to engage in that conversation.

but @ blackjack its easily the most fun game to play with the best crowds and the best stories. which is the reason you do it because no matter what you play at a casino odds are youre gonna get got.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Sgt PSN

any good casinos in brownsville?

I was commenting more on the odds of blackjack being in favor of the house more than any other table game. Most of the stories I hear at the tables of mass amounts of lost money always seem to be about blackjack.

And agree on roulette. Unless you're a jew like me and bet against yourself on the outside in the hopes of making a little money at a time without much risk of losing. It starts out slow but once I build up a nice stack I can take a lot more chances on the inside.

Finklestein, I know your pea sized brain can't handle the strategy of a game of poker, but I pretty much guarantee that you'll have a much better time sitting at a 1-2 game of poker. You go higher stakes then that and it gets a bit more serious. But poker tables, at least in AC, get served more often, which means more liquored up people pissing away their money. Good times.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Whatcha coming to Houston for chuggie?

This city blows.

And LV, AC and Arlingto is how we on CF roll when it comes to traveling. Ain't no jet-setters on here...

I've been to Prague, barcelona, tuscany, and playa del carmen in the past year.  and going to guatamala next month.  i would recommend all of them.

PhillyPhreak54

Correction...we've got one Carmen SanDiego amongst us.

Whatcha going to Guatemala for, Matt?

Sgt PSN

drugs, probably.

my squadron was supposed to deploy to peru and then onto chile starting in may and coming back in late june/early july.  due to the earthquakes in chile, that portion of the training has been cancelled but could possibly be relocated to peru for the duration.  or it could be completely cancelled.  my money's on the latter and that pisses me off.

i especially don't understand why we aren't scrubbing the whole training exercise and going straight to chile for humanitarian aid.  the aircraft we have are specifically designed to transport people and supplies.  seems like the perfect tool to use in a country that's been leveled by earthquakes and has a lot of remote towns and villages that aren't easily accessible.

Susquehanna Birder

Negril for me tomorrow. And no drugs.  :P

PhillyPhreak54

What part of Peru, Sarge?

Sgt PSN

the part that doesn't allow you to wear football jerseys.  also known as callao.  it's on the coast, not too far from lima.

PhillyPhreak54

Technically I wore one there because that is where the airport is. I've eaten in a few pollo a la brasa places there too

have a good friend who is spending a few months there, so yeah, basically drugs.

Vegas Trip III starts tomorrow at 0700. I can't wait to hit the tables.

I really need to get elite status on Continental. I get close every year but always fall a bit short. They started charging for the damn exit row seating. When I checked in on line this morning the thieves wanted $69 bucks each to sit where I used to sit for free.

All 6 of the exit row seats (and the 6 bulkheads) are empty. No one's paying for that shtein.

And I guess there's no elites on the flight (or all have been bumped to FC) because they get free upgrades to sit there.

charlie

You're the Donovan McNabb of continental elite status... Do you puke when you're really late for a flight?
