Reuters, on a variant that has been found to evade anti-body treatment...researchers frantically trying to figure out if it also shrugs off the vaccine.  Same link as drunk igy posted elsewhere:

But wait, there's more.  In Brazil, a similar sounding variant...but they aren't calling the Brazil one "501Y.V2," they're calling it "P1," noting that it bears 20 mutations from the originally identified strain.  I'd love to know if these are the same new strand or if we have multiple variations on the theme of "farg your vaccine" percolating out there.

UK variant -  SARS-CoV-2 VOC 202012/01
South Africa variant - 501Y.V2
Brazil variant - traced to B.1.1.248 strain and has 12 mutations in the spike protein - is this the same one as what the NPR piece called "P1?"  I have no idea.

There's a kid I know who found out her anti-masker mom caught the Rona on an interstate car trip with a stranger. The mom already had issues that had her at 50% lung capacity, and she's been fighting a respiratory infection for months. They sent her home because her oxygen levels were just at the cutoff for keeping her, but they want her to go back tomorrow because she's at risk for blood clots.

Anybody with a hot nurse wife, what's the odds this kid is going to lose her idiot mom?

Thanks man...I don't have my PCR tests back yet so I'm headed to go get a rapid here in a bit. I took the PCR swab on Wednesday. But I believe my first exposure was Monday now so today makes day five since exposure.

Even if I am negative I know I've got a little cold going on. Runny nose still and overall tiredness.

The two from work are still having a helluva time. Bet ya the girl, whom I'm friends with, believes this shtein is real now.

I tested negative on both tests thankfully.

Still had some minor congestion but no other symptoms developed.

Dodged a bullet. But I'm sure it'll happen again since no one gives a farg.

I was pretty sure I had covid beginning of December. On again off again sore throat...fatigued as all hell...congested...2 family members I had seen a few days prior tested positive. I was at my brothers bachelor party the prior week and we only wore masks in the casino. Was in my brother's wedding Jan 8th...it was in Montgomery county, masks were optional. Staff was fully masked but 100 guests maybe 5 had masks on. Donated blood Wednesday...test came back negative.
