we got this standard corporate email about the storm...precautions and whatnot blah blah.  one of the girls in our NYC office sent me a picture of this dude's cubicle in manhattan, has his monitor and all kinds of valuables and whatnot underneath his desk. so funny.

Yeah, yeah. But what about naked pics of her? Lets see those.

Diomedes

got a cooler full of ice
about six gallons of drinking/cooking water in the fridge chilling
a case of bottled water
plenty of food that can be cooked on the grill or warmed from a can, plus fresh fruit & veggies
fresh tank of propane
cars have gas
storm drains are clear
gutters are clean

all I have to do now is clean the basement some, make sure things are stacked as high as possible off the floor
buy alcohol
fill half a dozen five gallon buckets with water for flushing toilets.

too bad I don't have our rain barrel installed yet...oh well

I'm ready

Irene update.

QuoteWith its eyewall collapsed and just 18 more hours over water before landfall, Irene does not have time to build a new eyewall and intensify. The storm is too large to weaken quickly, and the best forecast is that Irene will be a strong Category 1 hurricane at landfall in North Carolina on Saturday.
