The religion thread.

The religion in our government which ought to be of real concern is not a morning prayer in school.  It's the money flow from church to government, it's people, the people who leave government in order to lobby on behalf of relgion, etc. 

Why have there been no serious criminal investigations of priests who have allowed rapists to play with their parishioners' children?  We seem to have a hard on for nailing the mormon child rapists, why not the catholics?

If mega churches want to influence politics, how about they pay taxes?

I agree with that completely.  I don't care if schools offer a "moment of silence" so to speak, so kids can say a prayer if they want to and the ones who don't pray can daydream about the hot chick/dude sitting next to them.  I just don't want them calling it "prayer time" though. 

I also don't want politicians referring to their bible when it comes to passing, preventing or proposing laws in this country.  I want them referring to the Constitution and Bill of Rights.  It's laughable that politicians still try and point to their religion as a source for their morals.....as if they actually have morals.

why cant people just base their morality on the mantra "because its just the right thing to do"

when you start basing it on religion you start hearing things like the bible says gays are amoral are going to hell...all it is a cult...and cults are no place to base your morality

Not arguing with that but people I don't give a farg how they come to their ideas of morality so long as they aren't pushing it on me and it stays out of the govt.  People can say the flying spaghetti monster gives them their moral compass so long as they act within the law.  Doesnt matter at all to me.  It isn't my place to tell them they can't believe just like it isn't their place to tell me I have to.  When they start doing that its crossed just believing what they want to believe.

You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.



Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty



Are words that were used to intimidate me.



Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen



On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton!



At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter



To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.



And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith



Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace



The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded



The reason for the season, stopped before it started.



So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'



Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.
