Our family dog of 14 years died today. She was a great dog. Border Collie. Wish we had given her more attention though.  :-\

Sorry to hear that. 14 years for a dog is pretty solid.

Sorry, h.  It sucks, and nothing helps but time.

Or hookers.
The drawback to marital longevity is your wife always knows when you're really interested in her and when you're just trying to bury it.

sorry to hear that chuggie.  my pup's not too far behind.

what do you guys do with your dogs when they finally pass?  bury in the backyard, pet cemetery or cremate?  i decided quite a few years ago that i'll have my dog cremated since i move every couple of years so i'm not going to bury him in the back yard knowing that i'll be packing up and moving some place else.

In my family, we've only ever buried small animals in the yard, small dogs included.  Anything bigger than a pomeranian has been disposed of by the vet.

I butcher my old dogs and feed them to whatever younger dog I've got at the time.  Dog food is expensive, yo.

That's an errand worth missing an Eagles game for.

You can do that while watching the game. It probably gets easier on 3rd and 1 when they pass.

We had her cremated...ashes will be given to us Monday.

My dad told me that in Mexico (of course) when people's dogs died...they would go to the outskirts of their cities and dump their dogs for the vultures to eat because most people didnt have the money to take them to the vet or animal shelter/clinic/morgue.

We chose cremation.

nice to see your family is Moving on up...

We cremated our first dog when he passed.  Of course the place got busted 5 years later for giving people random bones and ash, and  burying them out back instead.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds
