Havas' Nats took 2/3 from the Mets and have taken, assuming this 5-1 lead holds, 2/3 from the Cards (one more game tomorrow).

So I fully expect them to beat the Phillies this weekend

Narrator: and the 5-1 lead was not held

Cards win 6-5

QuoteAaron Judge has struck out 167 times so far this season... Tony Gwynn struck out 167 times in the 90s.

The dude who caught Judge's 62 works for an investment firm that handles like $200bn

Number of pitchers who threw 200+ innings this year - 8

Number of pitchers who threw 200+ innings in 2010 - 45

Today Davey Martinez was talking about the Nats next year and how their SP needs to be better. His key? Getting them through 5 innings and throwing into the 6th.

Nerdball.

ok ill bite

using the worst team in the league with a roster full of terrible pitchers as some sort of example for the death of baseball makes a ton of sense

the #1 reason why so few pitchers threw 200 innings is health related. every team was extra careful with their staffs this year - 2020 short season, 2021 full, 2022 late start. pitching effectively is 100x harder now than it was in 2010 than it was in 1980. everyone is better and the stress on your arm to do it is obscene.

i again must ask you. you watched the phillies. tell me why kyle gibson and ranger suarez didnt reach 200 IP despite making 31 and 29 starts. now think about every other team's mediocre starters. this is zilch to do with analytics of whatever youre going for.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

QB Eagles

There are also thousands more strikeouts than 2010. Health aside, teams do what works.
