to avoid having 4 games all on the same schedule

its very silly but they didnt want the bye teams to have too long of a break so they had them play, then rest, to get the NL and AL teams on different schedules. would the world have ended if they waited 1 more day to start the AL series? no.

the schedule will be a tad different next year, though the league and espn seemed to really like having the WC round on the weekend so i dont know. i think a 2-3 division series format makes sense.

I like it on the weekend too. At least when they put day games in people can watch them.

And MLB farged the fans in NY tonight - let them come into the stadium and spend money for hours on food and drink and have zero updates until they killed it at 930.
