Week 16 - Giants: Thursday Games Are Dumb

He pulled a dougie, no doubt, but he handled the challenges and timeouts well and otherwise called a pretty decent game.  Honestly i really didn't hate the pass play there.  If they execute it the game is over.   They didn't and the defense did its job (barely).   I'll take it.

He wasn't talking about the pass play - which in my opinion was also moronic - he was talking about Wentz lead blocking on a double reverse 5 minutes after coming out of concussion protocol.

Also he said Mathew's neck injury happened on the 3rd and goal play. So why have him try to punch it in on 4th and goal? Maybe Mathew's didn't say anything but that's a significant injury that could have left him paralyzed.

the only call i didnt like was the 4th down decision....you obviously didnt trust daniel to do anything so you had 1 option there and the giants knew it. just take the points.

the pass play at the end was actually a run/pass option and CW made the decision to throw it downfield. matthews wasnt really open and he didnt get enough on it. kill doug for letting his qb ice the game but when youre 5-9 why not let him? i watched the play again, it looked like the eagles were anticipating pressure that never came. had ertz and sproles blocking. so they had 3 receivers on 7 in coverage. 2 lbs in the middle of the field so nowhere to run. agholor and dgb covered (of course). matthews was streaking in 1v1. so he threw it. could wentz have held it, rolled out, slid and forced the giants to use their last timeout? sure.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

at least the second time this year doug had no clue he had an injured player on the field...the first time was the disastrous tobin sack...coincidence maybe but i cant recall this ever happening before and its happened twice with this clown that we know of

Wait a minute.  You can't blame Dougie for not knowing about the crystal duck's hurtie if he never mentioned it.

Putting Wentz back in was colossally stupid.   Having Wentz leading a downfield block is a fireable offense.

So to sum it up, fire Dougie.

putting a healthy player in the game was dumb?

You talking about Wentz or Mathews?

No you don't have your rookie franchise QB lead blocking on a double reverse. You ESPECIALLY don't have him do that 5 minutes after he had his bell rung and just left concussion protocol.

With Mathews you have wonder why he wouldn't report to Doug he was injured. First off for his own health that's something he needs to disclose. Second he hurt the team trying to play through that.

MDS

wentz

i wont argue the lead blocking....but of course you put him in the game. this is basically the last game of the year and was their super bowl. and he was healthy and fine. play football. he gets paid to play football.

I was referring to Mathews.  Wentz was wobbly and since, you know, he's the future of the goddamn team, you might want to sit him out especially since you're paying Daniel a fortune in case he does get hurt.

Even if Wentz was in there, that's still probably a situation where you just need to take the points. They were up 5 and a FG means the giants need a td and a 2pt conversion just to tie.

MDS

with wentz and your entire playbook, im fine with going for it there, especially at 5-9. with daniel....god no

Lemme guess...he shouldn't play vs. Dallas either?
