But I thought they were cheap?!?

I'm no Lurie fan but the last thing the Eagles are is cheap.

its not....but even if it was the notion that them paying out a couple hundred thousand dollars would make them not cheap is funny....they make that much from one johnson kendall johnson sign at the linc

Uh they only have late round picks to sign. Their rookie budget is huge. This is not surprising.

I don't think the Eagles have been considered cheap since the heady days of "Dream Team."   It's funny that a lesson like that caused them to restrain themselves later only to go buck wild with Chippah last year and then back to it again this year with Howie.

I really, really like what he's done since he regained the reigns.   Again, this move with Wentz looks like a reckless gamble and maybe it is but considering all the other moves he's made have been pretty darn good, I'll trust him here.

they were considered cheap for a hot second when banner used to cut guys before they got old instead of recklessly resigning them....but that was for a very short period of time and mostly came from the meathead slice of the fanbase

They had a lot of years where they didn't spend to the cap, IGY.  They were always trying to sign their own guys to sweetheart deals, etc. yet when a guy really excelled, they tried to low-ball them.  That was the perception, anyway.

That was the CPA jew in Banner, he just had to nickle and dime to save precious money. That's where Lurie needed to step in. A good owner doesn't let the TO situation happen knowing the team is on the cusp of it's first SB.

completely agree they botched the TO thing but in general banner was good (not cheap) with money and youd be hard pressed to find to many players they got burned by not paying and theres no contest between those situation and situation where they didn't pay someone who needed to be let go.....even the TO thing wasn't about not wanting to spend the money it was a battle of ego's

problem with banner was he started trying to get into the player personnel game to much....and of course he also was a legendary bad human being

The official list:

Cool I see they signed Turned from LaTech too

Seems like a solid class. Gordon may be moved to OL as he's a straight up blocking TE.

Two names that were previously mentioned but didn't appear on the official list: Angelo State QB Kyle Washington and Utah State LB LT Filiaga

offseason train keeps on rollin..........

QuoteThe Eagles didn't shy away from players with potential red flags off of the field at the end of the draft, and the same goes for the undrafted free agents. Arizona receiver Cayleb Jones transferred from Texas after punching a Longhorns tennis player and breaking his jaw, while Utah State wide receiver Hunter Sharp was suspended for the first two games last season for a violation of team rules.

It's unclear what prompted the event, but tight end Dillon Gordon was stabbed several times in a bar in January, causing Les Miles to ban his players from going to bars. Baton Rouge Police said the stabbing occurred "during a fistic encounter," but the injuries were non-life threatening.

Wide receiver is arguably the weakest position on the Eagles offense, and it appears Sharp is the guy with the best chance to make the roster in this position group.

Also G Darrell Greene tested positive for marijuana last season.

these mongos can smoke whatever they want and punch each other in the face as long as they win football games
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Kyle Washington's something of a Randall type. Here is a clip of highlights, in crap-def video.

Apparently the Eagles are going to use him as a WR.
