uhhhh hes been flat out bad since early may. 5.12 era that month and his first start in june wasnt much better.

he has the tools to be a good pitcher but it remains to be seen if he can actually put it together. like i said early in the season, hed be a great closer. not a bad fallback.

control isnt so much his issue as developing breaking pitches. his first couple of starts were largely aided by an electric fastball that the nl hadnt seen. didnt take long for everyone to get on him. you cant be a starter in this league with 1 pitch.

Thanks for your scouting report. He's only 23 and should be pitching in triple a. He's exactly what I expected, has the stuff but needs to develop. Again, I was expecting exactly what we're seeing. Maybe you guys should taper your expectations a bit.

hes not a lost cause by any stretch but to say hes fine is a quite rosy outlook

hes not 21....hes 23 and has no second pitch much less a third and is brain dead when it comes to knowing how to pitch

its 50/50 right now as to whether hes a starter or a closer....btw there would be nothing wrong with getting a future closer in a trade but as a sp hes far from fine

They're not learning anything at AAA that they couldn't learn in the Majors.  The only reason the Phillies won't pull the trigger is they don't want the service time clock starting too early.  The longer they sit at AAA, the better.  Every major league franchise pulls the same shtein, so it's not like the Phillies are unique in that regard.
