me and odubel are like buddies now its insane

also the sun cooked me up but fun game. phils win! hooray!
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I've see you dude. A fifty watt bulb would cause 3rd degree burns.

new BP top 50 is out and lookie at numero uno....phils also have 23, 36, 46

also kinda depressing and sickening to see how loaded the nats are...giolito would be 1 if he wasn't just called up plus they have 9, 13, 39....not fair

and....

keith law on espn insider just came out with his 25 best mlb'ers under 25

21. Odubel Herrera, CF
Philadelphia Phillies
2015 rank: NR (rookie)

No joke: Herrera has gone from a Rule-5 "who did they take?" guy to a legit All-Star -- he's the token Phillies All-Star this year, though he's deserving -- in about 18 months. He turned out to be a solid regular last year, a little-of-everything guy without a single carrying or clearly plus tool, but the revelation this year has been his patience: He has 43 walks (tied for eighth in the NL) after never drawing more than 52 in any full season in pro ball. Some of this was because Herrera drew almost a walk per game in April, after which he has been less patient, but even if his true talent level is 50-60 walks per season, that makes him an above-average regular without any other gains in his game. The Phillies' staff did a great job in identifying him in a crowded Rangers farm system in which he was overlooked.

22. Vince Velasquez, RHP
Philadelphia Phillies
2015 rank: NR (minor leaguer)

Velasquez has been dominant at times. He scared everyone with possible arm injuries, but lately, he has been pitching more -- not just throwing all-out but using his changeup really effectively, sitting low 90s and touching 94-95 when needed. Whether that's by design or fear of injury, it's working, and in the long term, it might help him stay on the mound, as it seems that pitchers who consistently work at the highest end of their velocity ranges get hurt more often. Velasquez appears to be at least a league-average starter for now, with the potential to be a solid No. 2.

Honorable mentions:

Aaron Nola, RHP, Phillies

Hamels trade is incredibly promising right now.  Not going to pretend to know if Eickoff can keep this up, but he was an also-ran in the deal and has been very good.

its been pretty amazing thruout the system thru a half season thus far its hard to find too many guys in their top 30 who have been massive on the field disappointments...off the top of my head appel and eshelman are the only ones I can think of

this game tonight might be one of those old fashioned 14-11 coors field johnsons

I don't care if it takes him 30 ER and 200 pitches to do it they need to make Morgan go a minimum of seven tonight...then outright him forever

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

BA's midseason 100 just dropped:

3. jp - crawford has gotten into some bad habits at the plate but the tools are the same.
40. nick dub - benched for lack of hustle multiple times, but excelling at Triple-A when actually on the field.
62. jake - thompson lacks star potential, but he's a nearly ready to fill a back-of-the-rotation role.
67. alfaro - alfaro is starting to live up to lofty expectations as his defense is catching up to his bat
96. franklyn kilome - has more potential than current production, but there's all kind of hope for the future.

rest of division:

nats - 4, 5, 13, 48, 61 - yikes...have a loaded ml roster and all this coming....seems unfair
braves - 7, 17, 33, 77, 78, 95 - them and the phils been in a minor league system arms race the last couple of years
mets - 18, 76 - of course many of their best are playing in flushing right now
marlins - 100
