I hate the shift. I hate lefties who can't figure out how to hit oppo even more.

do you also hate zone defenses in basketball. and the 46 in football? and ___ in hockey.

games advance. but yes, howard never once bunting down the 3b line is a mystery
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Yes, I do hate the trap in hockey.

the left wing lock in hockey zone defense in basketball and the 46 are not analogous to the shift...those first three are complete systematic strategic overhauls

there isn't a lot you can compare to the shift because the shift is solely used to take advantage of the opponents weakness rather than trying to counter an opponents strength or hide your own weakness

closest thing I can think of is maybe the hack a shaq in the nba?
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

MDS

im thinking of dong things differently...instead of always playing man to man or instead of always playing a 4-3 or a 3-4....or whatever hockey term

basically advancing the game past its most primitive point which, solely in baseball, drives tex nuts

I don't doubt the strategic aspects of the shift and it works 95% of the time but I still hate it...id make a rule that the ss cant cross second base...its hard enough to hit a baseball as it is

not sure you can tell teams where they can and cant play people

if a hitter keeps hitting it into the shift, then maybe he should adjust his swing. ted williams did ok.

actually you easily could...also you aren't telling where a player needs to be just where he cant go...kind of like how a player in football cant line up offsides

ted Williams was maybe the greatest hitter of all time...that's a horrible example....again 95% of the time the shift is on it works...its kind of like cbb where they don't advance the ball and what you end up with is a team trying to score a game winning shot and having to go the length of the court in 1-3 seconds to do it...takes all the drama out of the game...that's why I hate the shift you pretty much know the result before it happens

I get argument that the batter should be better its the same argument hack a shaq defenders use...just hit your free throws...which I cant argue against...its valid...but imo I think both the shift and hack a shaq make their respective games worse and id rather not watch either one

QB Eagles

Technically you can put seven fielders down the first base line if you want, or put them all on the warning track. Or everyone can switch positions after every pitch.

The positions (other than pitcher and catcher) were never something that were mandated, they evolved. I see no reason to prevent further evolution of the game by forcing fielders into (or out of) certain areas.
