I'm actually surprised it hasn't happened yet.  In the World Series year of 1980, the NL came (I believe) one or two votes short of adopting it.

The Phils were in favor, but wanted to wait until the winter meetings, so they abstained.  It would have been perfect for The Bull.

i think that was the year it didnt pass because giles couldnt reach ruly carpenter, who was on a boat fishing. if he had, he would have voted yes and there would have been a dh.

that might have been a bit later. though i suspect now that that fossil selig is gone the dh will eventually be passed in the nl and the flat eathers will get on twitter and COMPLAIN ABOUT SPORTS STUFF
