If you think the goal was to put the best possible team on the court in 2014-2015, then yeah what they did is terrible.

What difference does it make where Saric is playing right now if he's here and good in 3 years?

this is like in religion where they keep coming up with excuses: "everything happens for a reason"    "we can't understand god's plan"    "they're in a better place now"   and on and on and on. the sixers keep lying to you. they blow up mcw out of one side of their mouth, then try to trade him out of the other. they go crazy over kj, then only sign him to a 1 year deal. so many holes and what ifs everywhere. its fraudcity.

My question was more specific.  What does cannot play mean?  Cannot as in not talented or cannot as in literally cannot play this season?  The point is why does it matter whether they can play this season?  This season was irrelevant from the jump so who cares whether Embiid or Saric play this year so long as the CAN play down the line?  I'd rather have someone with Saric's upside than someone who physically can play this year but who has a far more limited ceiling.

and again i get what theyre doing....but that doesnt take away from how insulting and overtly pathetic it is (there's tanking, there's really tanking, then there's the sixers) and maybe not smart. there are a ton of holes in this "plan," there's a terrific chance it never works. you can make the same argument about drafting exum and mcbuckets instead of embiid and saric.

winning in the nba isnt easy. i just wanted them to get on with it. because right now they are 3 years away from being 3 years away.

They tanked this season not just to get another top-3 pick but to avoid paying a 1st to Miami (they'll give up two of the 1293912392183 2nds instead).  Next year you're gonna have Noel, MCW, Embiid, KJ and top-3 pick (plus whatever they do with Miami's 1st) and they might win 25 games, then they have another top-5 pick, Saric comes over, Durant's a free agent (hey I won't give up hope yet)....now all of a sudden you have a great looking team

so you're good with everything they've done except for embed and saric. you would have rathered that they drafted dude who they see as lesser talent just so maybe they would get a few more wins this season?

this is going to happen game after game. nobody respects or cares about the sixers. you heard joakim noah, nobody is even preparing for them. but ya'll homers will cherrypick the "positive" things, like some kj slam against a disinterested 11th man in the 3rd quarter of a 20-point blowout, while ignoring everything else associated with this catastrophe.

if you wanna be down with the tank and pretend the 0-82 doesnt matter, FINE. but then remember everything and anything that happens this year, including the good stuff, doesnt count either.
