The formatting looks much better in the posting query. Way closer than I would have thought. I am partial to Chase mostly because Jimmy Rollins became the most overrated player in Phillies history after the 2008 season.

Jimmy is HOF worthy, but his career has been largely plagued by playing on bad teams, with a 5yr run of success on what could be considered an under achieving team from 2010-12. If he's the SS for the Sawx or Yanks for his career and puts up those numbers, he might even go 1st ballot. But as it is now, he likely won't even get in.

Point is,  for anyone from this wretched franchise to get in the hall,  they have to be truly elite like Schmidt or Carlton and Jimmy definitely isn't on that level.

2000 doesn't count because he only played 14 games...other than that he's only played on two sub .500 teams...one being last year and the others being 2002 when they were 80-81. That's hardly being on bad teams especially since he was a key component during a great 5 year run.

Fine. Replace bad with mostly forgettable. Or mediocre.  My point is still the same. If Jimmy had more Oct at bats either earlier or even later in his career, he'd probably be talked about as a HOF lock.

i dont even know what to say to this...I knew people hated gawd but not sarge

Huh?  How did you possibly interpret that to mean that I hated Jimmy?   If he was trying to rape my squaw, I'd help hold her down.

Shows you how much Phillies baseball I have watched this year. So basically Tony Gwynn just died and I said who cares. I am a good person...

2007 qualifies as mega numbers.

Kinda like more than 40 people in the stands for a lacrosse game would be mega numbers.

Oh I get it. So that one mega stat mega season = mega HOF forever!
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

Utley has been better, marginally.  Not sure that he meant as much to the phillies as Rollins in 07 & 08 though.

Well it was kind of a big deal, that season. So it helps legitimize his candidacy.

tony gwynn jr's father died

Just saw this. Wow.

Sr. was a class act.  Loved the guy.  He came up through the Padres system back when the Hawaii Islanders were their AAA affiliate.
