But if he's Kendrick then he's starting the AS game and getting a $112m extension right?!

ummm, if hes kendrick then its not ideal to draft a bottom of the rotation starter with the 7th pick, but not the worst one could do.

easy there hater. why doesnt he pitch 1 competitive minor league inning before you pull the woe is me wahh wahh nothing ever works out in philly card.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

ice grillin you

how am i hating to say a marty wolever pick will make it to the majors and be good at anything....that would be a huge accomplishment for this scouting dept

Scouting report on Aaron Nola.

QuoteThe ace of a 2013 Louisiana State pitching staff that included Twins second-round choice Ryan Eades, Nola finished among the NCAA Division I leaders in wins (12), ERA (1.57), strikeouts (122), K-BB ratio (6.8) and WHIP (0.80). He helped the Tigers end a three-year absence from the College World Series and finished his sophomore season without allowing an earned run in his final 26 2/3 innings. He extended that streak to 54 innings this spring, when he has been better than ever. Nola isn't physical or overpowering, but he has exquisite command of his three-pitch arsenal. He effortlessly works at 91-93 mph with his fastball, which plays up because his low three-quarters arm slot produces sink and he can locate the pitch wherever he wants. His changeup is his best secondary pitch, grading as plus at times, and he can throw his three-quarters breaking ball for strikes. Among the 2014 pitching crop, Nola is the best bet to reach his ceiling and likely will be the first starter to appear in the big leagues. His older brother Austin, who teamed with Aaron at LSU in 2012, is a slick-fielding shortstop in the Marlins system.

They adjusted their strategy from taking upside guys who they never farging develop to more polished players who can maybe promote quicker.

The dude who went 8th to Colorado was drafted by the Phils outta HS and rejected $250k. Smart move, son.

strength of the draft was college pitching....phillies in reality do not care. amaro is trying to win as quickly as possible and is no mood to draft high school players or project collegians and wait them out. which is the mentality you need when you should be doing a complete overhaul of your organizational talent (its not).

That's what I was saying this offseason.  I heard his interview when he was talking about signing Byrd and said the people in Philadelphia don't accept rebuilding and need to win now.  It's so terrible.  He has no interest whatsoever in the actual welfare of the organization and is only out for his own job security (which is hopefully destroyed anyway).
