pretty much his nightmare scenario...i would bet anything that he would rather not bunt there and the phillies lose than beautifully sacrifice the team to a victory

the bunt was retarded but it worked....so hooray bunting

he gave up an out so jayson nix, choke (against a lefty lol) and revere could bat. revere managed to hit the ball out of the infield for once and they won. great. the whole thing had a very slim chance of succeeding.

again. i didnt make this up. im not the king of math. but its simple. your chances of scoring DECREASE when you bunt. its point blank simple probability.

chances of scoring with a runner at 1st and 0 out: 0.820
chances of scoring with a runner at 2nd and 1 out: 0.650

i was at high school game tonight where bunts killed rallies on 3 separate occasions. does this prove bunting is wrong? NO. it was proven wrong by thousands of different games. you guys sound like global warming deniers yelling at al glore because its snowing.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

QuoteSecond Straight 1-0 Game For Braves And Phillies

The Phillies beat the Braves, 1-0, at Citizens Bank Park on Thursday afternoon, after Atlanta won by the same score when the teams played on Wednesday night. It's the first time that the Braves and Phillies have played consecutive 1-0 games against each other (regardless of which team won) since the rivalry began in 1883, though on Sept. 5, 1913, the teams played a doubleheader in Boston with Philadelphia winning the first game, 1-0, and the second game ending in a ten-inning 0-0 tie.

The Phillies and Braves were not the first major-league teams to play back-to-back 1-0 games in a series this season. The Cardinals and Reds did so in the first two games of their season-opening series in Cincinnati, with St. Louis winning on March 31 and the Reds prevailing two days later.

Late-Inning RBIs Are A Rarity For Revere

Ben Revere drove in the run in the Phillies' 1-0 win over the Braves with a two-out single in the eighth inning. It was only Revere's second RBI in 119 plate appearances in the seventh inning or later during his two seasons with the Phillies. The first one was also a tiebreaking and game-winning RBI on an eighth-inning single at Citizens Bank Park, against the Cardinals nearly one year ago (April 21, 2013).

And you sound like a stubborn repub refusing to admit something lol

Bunting works. Why are sabr people trying to rewrite baseball when it is been thriving as is for over a hundred years?

ice grillin you

because its their way to be sports fans without really liking sports....sports is a medium that nerds have never been a part of...sabremetrics is simply another way for them to get into a field where they can show everyone that they are the smartest guys in the room as a means of acceptance

HA!  Pettiboner with 36 pitches in the first inning.

Either there are a shtein load of Phils fans at Coors Field or they're all dead.  Place is quiet.

I fell asleep on the couch and just woke up.

Flipped on the ballgame and see it's 8-0 and they're losing and being no hit by someone named Chatwood and am seriously thinking about going to bed.

Hey hey! Grit ended the no no!

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

17 hits by the Rockies.

Great start to the trip. TMac waxing poetic on how Rosenberg was supposed to be an integral part of the bullpen.

Time to watch the bad boys 30 for. 30
