hes certainly hitting well, but he doesnt walk and he still throws like a girl

a 346/358/396 slash line post-all star break is pretty good, but when 95% of the hits are singles it doesnt really do much. overall hes probably a ML starter, in the least a 4th outfielder. the phlllies could do a lot better than him, though he is the least of their concerns.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

He certainly fits a leadoff hitter role though - the one that THE PEOPLE burned up the WIP phone lines for years over. Small ball playing, base stealing, slap hitter.

Yeah he does need to walk more...but he's having a nice season.

ice grillin you

revere is not a starting ML player but if he was he bats 8th...his obp is slightly above average....he has 11 walks this year lol...and he averages 30 rbi a year...hes the guy you use to try and make sure your pitcher doesn't lead off next inning

and lets not even get into his defense
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

the people are idiots...slap hitters stink. i mean philly is an old school blue collar town thats full of dumb inbred meth addled white people. and then theres the people that call wip.

his problem the last 2 years has been horrible starts. if he hits 260 or 280 in a month, his obp is still under 300. and again its all singles...he has no power whatsoever. and of course, his defense.

if he hits about 320-330, theres a place for him somewhere in baseball, perhaps as a starter on an AL team where he can bat 9th. but its very, very thin. hes such a one dimensional player. if hes not hitting 330, hes barely a bench guy.

I think he's definitely a starter (there are always worse outfielders around the league than what Revere is now, including at Phillies LF), but towards the bottom of the barrel. And definitely not at CF and not as a leadoff guy. He's the guy you trot out there in the corners if you have to and you don't feel too awful about it if he comes cheap (which Revere does), but you're always looking to upgrade. I think he needs to stay a .300 hitter (not .330) or his value plummets to below zero immediately. Nonetheless he's maybe the 20th worst problem the Phillies have, so maybe that's why people can be confused into thinking he's playing well.

Also Revere is worse than Vance Worley (3.05 ERA), who they traded away for him.

MDS

vance is a smoke and mirrors starter...hes a better version of david buchanan. very replaceable pitcher.

revere cant be a LF...he has no power. he can barely hit a double. you cant have a corner outfielder with 2 career homers. the game is fazing slappy's out, theres really no position for him anymore. 2B is the really the last vestige of small scrappy do's. but even then you have utley, cano, neil walker, jason kipnis.

revere also has a 0.9 war...thats horrible

if hes back next year, its not a huge thing. they arent close to being good and they really dont have a CF prospect in their farm system that he would be blocking. but if they were to trade hamels, getting back a CF would be my priority. you can find corner guys...byrd they just got, yasmani tomas will be available, stanton in 2017--theyre out there.

His WAR is that because he's skewered defensively.  His OWAR is 3.0 which certainly is sufficient to start.  Problem is he's one of the worst defensive outfielders in baseball.  I mean, if you're going to cite WAR at least acknowledge that it refutes your own point about his offensive worth.

ice grillin you

lol at war.....quadruple lol at owar but even if you don't think so

1 hr and 40 rbi in a good year plus watching his arm and angles in cf trumps all

the guy should not be starting in the major leagues on anything more than a last place team with no future and even then i question it

no lol at oMAR

ooooo nerd fight

his stats to me are misleading....i dont see the value in a slappy happy that can string a bunch of singles together. and then theres his defense.

QB Eagles

Do you guys think he is worse than Dom (8 HR, 58 RBI)?
