This bullpen has been amazing for the past month.  Get rid of jackass and tardo (you know he's gonna lose it again all of a sudden) and they'll be even more fun to watch

The Phils will trade what little they can, pretty much get worthless minor league players in return, and Amaro will get fired when the season ends with a 0.430 team. If they can play some enjoyable baseball games in the interim, that's great. Major league baseball clubs are supposed to be capable of entertaining their fans at least some of the time.

Montgomery was making some noise the other day about how the front office has been the same people the whole time, and that Gillick is still advising the team. This was supposed to be a statement in support of Amaro. I recognize the team has been overly loyal to many people, but please believe that after the season they are going to stash him in whatever part of the ballpark they keep Wheels in, and hire a new GM.

Getting excited about any win (or salty about a loss) before Sep in baseball is pretty pointless, no matter how good or bad the team is. But when you're watching a bad team like the Phils play a solid stretch of ball, it's cool to enjoy it. Especially when you see Howard hitting the way he did in the last 3 games.

It's a bad team, so stop dreaming of a division title you idiot homers and simply look forward to the next 8-2 stretch they'll get sometime in August.

They're having a nice little steak right now and playing well so just enjoy the brief flashback to 2008 that they're giving us you salty curmudgeons. Don't worry, they'll go back to being terrible sometime within the next week.

and playing well = sweeping the awful padres, losing 2/3 to the awful cubs and sweeping the mediocre and slumping braves. hooray. well.

in 2009 the astros swept the phillies in a 4 game series at the bank. im sure it was a monumental series for the astros and led to a huge turnaround and world series title.
