54 in 55 update:

number of players put on dl during that stretch -- 4
choke homers -- 4
ben revere starts -- 11
numbers of wins -- 5
number of games they will be back of 1st at the end of it -- 6

homer j's guesses:
Zero (wrong)
10 (low!)
44 (sadly on pace)
27 (lol)
IN FIRST BITCH (lololololol)
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

QB Eagles

He actually guessed 37 wins, 27 was a typo. Big 32-9 stretch coming up I guess.

They are projected for 72 wins right now... one worse than last year. That sounds about right. The team should be completely blown up, but it won't really achieve anything due to the fact that pretty much every player better than replacement level has a trade-unfriendly contract. It will be up to the new GM to start from absolute zero next offseason. With the right moves they could be back in the playoffs by the end of the decade.

2019 is really pushing it

they would need to hit on lee and utley trades (likely to be made by ruin, if made at all) and need franco, giles and biddle to be really good (which they are not). otherwise all their "talent" is in lakewood or injured, regardless about 4-5 years away from even becoming competent major leaguers, if they get there.

im a pessimistic person by nature by i get the feeling this is lasting well into the next decade.

6 hits, 1 run off a dugong. Nice work boys.

Time to watch the Phils blow this two-on, no-out situation with the meat of their order coming to bat.

More bullshtein tonight.

Brignac being sent by Mackanin was dumb.

Offense stinks. Grit and Choke failed in the 8th

And now Diekman is gonna let them blow it wide open

PhillyPhreak54

And they're last in the league with only 7 sac flies

PhillyPhreak54

Hahahahahahahahahahah

Aumont gives a granny to Wilmer Flores.

11-2

I'm done. That's it. This game has been my final straw

Don Ho

Honestly, is there no one they can bring up that is better than Diekman?  The guy is the worst pitcher on the planet.  Aumont being a close second.  You can't get any lower than those two.

Even with the excuse that this is one of the worst lineup/bench/bullpen in the big leagues, very disappointed in Sandberg & Co.

Aumont is a farging waste of space.

He shouldn't even be in the independent league.

24-31 and I'm done. Get back to .500 and let's talk. But I doubt it.

May 4th they were above .500 and a game and a half out. Worst record in the bigs since.

Lazy corksucking losers

MDS

ben revere has the lowest walk percentage in baseball, among qualified batters. he bats leadoff.

carloz ruiz is 10th in baseball in obp. he hits 6th or 7th.

hof brown has the 5th-lowest ops in baseball (slightly ahead of nate scheerholtz. SCORE ONE FOR ROOB!)

the. phillies. suck. its not about effort, its not about working harder or giving more of a shtein. they just suck.

QB Eagles

HOF's the biggest liability on the team this season and that's saying a lot. He farging sucks.

Long weekend in Philly falls one inning short of record

The Mets completed their five-game series at Philadelphia with an 11-2 victory over the Phillies and this time they needed only nine innings to complete the win. But with the three middle games of the series lasting 14, 14, and 11 innings, the teams fell one short of the all-time major-league for most innings in a series of five games.

The Yankees and Tigers played a total of 58 innings over five games in June 1962, including a 22-inning Sunday marathon. The only other five-game series to span 57 innings was played by the Pirates at Chicago and it was so long ago - June 1916, if you're wondering - that the stadium we now call Wrigley Field was known as Weeghman Park.
