maybe killin it is a stretch but he's like 20 lbs lighter than last year. and people seem to forget dude only played 12 minutes a game last year.

say what you will about hinkie but getting mcw, nerlens, embiid and bennett in his first two drafts is pretty slick.

Bennett was awful last season but like Matty said he's looked good in the summer league and dropped 20 pounds. Plus he's still young and can score. They're getting another lottery pick for Thad who's going to opt out after this season anyway. Pair him alongside Noel and this season is suddenly a lot more interesting. Rumor is the sixers might be getting picks back too.

bennett alone is way more than i would have expected for thad.

not gonna get my hopes up though, i imagine someone will come around before the 23rd with a better deal than thad.

i could care less about thad...its not about him or this trade

its about hinkie and his minions acting like the only possible way to win is to suck for 5 years, collect "talent" and figure it all out whenever. it goes against the fabric of sports. im not asking them to go all out for the 7 seed. but this nbadl team masquerading as the sixers is a joke. and hinkie is just some nerd who a decibel of a gm that thinks SO outside the box that he threw a bunch of money at howard, bosh and melo. what a trailblazer!

The Sixers have 5 players on their roster drafted in the 1st round over the last 2 drafts. Bennet was a laughable #1 pick, but if he'd have gone anywhere between 5 and 10, he probably wouldn't have been highlighted quite so much for the way he played last year.

No idea if he can make himself a viable part of this team or not, but I still really like this trade.

they actually have been pretty terrible for more than a decade before hinkie got here....ill take his philosophy anyday over trading for chris webber and drafting jiri welsch...altho if you have a better one other than hysterically screaming the same thing over and over im open to ideas

yeah i think its a just to be different thing with him...hinkie has pretty much gotten universal praise almost across the board with everything hes done so the lil guy just figures hell go the other way....because he has no real plan of his own to make the team better....he just yells about people loving hinkie

He's trying to be a contrarian like his idol. The NBA set the system up this way, you either have to hit big on a f/a or be bad enough to draft high and pray you draft a superstar. What other options do they give teams to improve? I think it's funny they're now trying to modify the draft. Don't do it when Cleveland tanks for half a decade, just do it now that the Sixers are doing it. They're just made because Hinkie's playing their game and bragging about it. That's the one problem with Hinkie, you don't tank and call it a successful season. It sends the wrong message to the league.

except ive never been a contrarian and in fact im 100% with everyone on hinkie....if there was a ever a time to be a contratrian it would right now with hinkie...i say what i believe and believe what i say...and i would never yell to just yell about something like the lil guy is....ill yell all day but ill say what id do instead (whether that ends up being right or wrong is another thing)
