I'll take Richie Ashburn, Wilt Chamberlain, Chase Utley, Reggie White, Bobby Clarke, Dr. J, Charles Barkley, Mike Schmidt, Steve Carlton & Jerome Brown over that douche.

Thanks.

QB Eagles

AI might kill himself with the bottle before he turns 50, but he won't be more of a douche than Jerome Brown until he starts recklessly killing 12 year olds.

Rome

How about the other men on that list?   Especially Richie Ashburn.

Brown is my favorite Eagle ever, though.  Not especially loved or even appreciated even if he was the heart and soul of that defense.

QB Eagles

If you asked everyone who roots for all four teams to name their favorite Philly athlete ever, Iverson would be near the top of the list, though maybe not the overall #1.

If you asked the same group to give a simple approve/disapprove to a number of different athletes and then ranked the results, controversial Iverson would be far down the list and it would be dominated by people everyone loves like Brian Dawkins.

So it depends on what you mean by most beloved.

MDS

guessing rome cant get past AI the person...as is common for elder whites

judge the player not the man.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

SunMo

how can two players you've never seen play be on your most loved list?  that's madness
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Rome

It's not my list.  It's Philly fans in general.

And Iverson is a terrible human being.   farg him.   If you think I'm a racist because I never cared for him or his selfish me-first attitude, that's fine.  farg you too.

iverson is a top five all time philly favorite...period....thats not even up for debate

and why would you ever care for him or care that he was selfish...you arent an nba fan and you arent a sixer fan....seriously be honest and tell me how many full games you have ever seen allen iverson play....ten?....which brings us to the real reason you hate him...the clothes and jewelry he wears and that he tried to rap once

I hate him for blowing $160 million...he could have fed a country full of hungry children. But it was his money so whatever.

He never dogged it on the court...never blamed his teammates...never puked in the huddle. He was 160 lbs soaking wet and would drive the lane like hd was a freight truck. He was as Philly as Philly gets. You might not respect his off the court persona (I found them amusing...especially his mom)...but I can't see how you'd over look him as a Philly icon.
