traded a Phantom, a 2nd and 3rd for him......pretty much the same thing Homer dealt for Grossmann.  This guy leads the league in blocked shots though

looked at the nhl standings for the first time all season and saw that the flyers are in 5th place

i thought they were one of the worst teams in hockey based on how you will bitch about them all the time.

probably wont even make the playoffs but yeah if they make it they are toast early

Typical Holmgren trade.  Gives up a 2nd and 3rd for a player with an expiring contract.  I cant wait to see how he gives him a NTC and overpays by 5million after the season

The consensus from flyer fans is that he is terrible defensively other than blocking shots.  But the immediate reaction from the homers is 2nd and 3rd rounders never pan out so its a good trade.  I don't understand that thought process at all.  To me picks, and Scouting are how you build a winner, but what do I know.

I just don't understand how after all these years and the same old outcomes, they still think you win by acquiring washed up players at a steep price.
