So I guess Charlie is gonna beat Eskin's ass now? He said when they scored ten he'd whup him.

Delmon has six RBI and hosed a runner at the plate.

A Ben Revere homer would really cap this slaughter off.

Odds they get 3 or less runs tomorrow? High.

Was tonight the night Todd was going to the game?  If so, ha...

Rome

Quintero struck out with the bases loaded in the 9th and Vin Scully says, "well, the Phillies failed to score... there's a headline."

GOAT.

Grit with two gritty homers tonight.

Todd gonna owe me $50 when he's back with a new contract.

Don Ho

Nice job bullpen.  Worse than that was the bases loaded top 8 and they come up with jack shtein.
"Well where does Jack Lord live, or Don Ho?  That's got to be a nice neighborhood"  Jack Singer(Nicholas Cage) in Honeymoon in Vegas.

Don Ho

Got to love Hanley Rameriz ignoring the third base coaches stop sign on the winning run.  "farg you, I'm going!"

i saw the clearwater threshers last night.  it's amazing to watch a team in the minors that resembles the big club as much as they do.  terrible fundamentals like poor baserunning, missing cut-off men, hacking wildly ahead in counts with guys on base.  oh, and head-scratching decisions by the manager too.  and when they did manage to score the bullpen barely noticed or reacted.  no cheering, no clapping... nothing.  very strange.  disappointing too, but hey, get used to it i guess.   just my impressions and i'm obviously biased, but just so weird and it leads me to wonder if it's an institution-wide thing.

QB Eagles

Here's David Schoenfield in a story about Puig's 4-hit night. Even though the story isn't even about the Phillies, it says everything you need to know about the Phils season and the offseason moves made by Rube.

QuoteIn truth, Puig was a little lucky on this day. Two hits were infield singles off the glove of Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Michael Young, plays that a better third baseman could have made. The triple was blooped to right field, a play that a more agile fielder than Delmon Young could have caught. Then he drilled a line drive between first and second and made it to second base as Young must have been stationed in San Bernadino.

on wednesday our tickets in san diego (amazing city btw) were directly below press row. we wound up right under la and franzke. sarge was in the next box over sitting next to a ginger.

anyway none other than ruben amaro jr was hovering over us the entire game. after each farg up i would get up and and yell at him. he was mostly on his blackberry or talking to a fine looking 30 year old white chick who might or might not be his wife. after cole hamels gave up the homers he just stared at the field, smugly looked on, then walked away.

on saturday we tried to go but it was sold out. i found 2 scalpers in the lot. 2. both were asking for ridiculous amounts. farg that. as it turned out, not going was beyond wise. this team sucks something else. trade everyone. goodbye.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Thank you for yelling at Smug. Not that it does any good but I feel good knowing you said something to him. Did he show any reaction to your comments?

BTW - we'll be evened up on our bets. Utley will be coming back and they ain't making the playoffs

Geowhizzer

Are you kidding, J?  Todd probably went meekly up and asked for his autograph.

PhillyPhreak54

"Mr Ruben can I buy you a drink after the game?!"

he paid no attention to me, but im pretty sure he heard me

we were watching bp before the game. some dude was railing on doc for not throwing a ball to him. says something like you make 20 mil cant you give us a ball. keep in mind this is a 40 year old man. anyway doc fires back YOU ALREADY HAVE A BALL IN YOUR HAND. he doesnt throw one into the crowd of the rest of the session.

kendrick was on bitch duty. anytime a ball skidded past everyone to the wall he had to go get it. jon laanan meanwhile was miming his delivery in centerfield. hof brown was tossing balls against the wall, then he was awkwardly flailing his limbs and firing balls into the crowd. im talking like letting them rip. he did it twice then sprinted for the dugout. i thought it was funny.

petco is amazing by the way. absolute must see.
