Even though you cant really complain about his performance overall, if Doc doesn't take 95 pitches to get through 6 innings, the Phils probably win.  He's looked good his last 3 outings but if he can't consistently go into the 7th or later then it's just a bunch of window dressing because the pen sucks something awful.  Maybe he becomes trade bait though.  Does he have a full ntc?

the backend of the pen has been terrific actually...mike adams blew a game for the first time this year. its late april. it happens.

when youre bad you overreact and go into hyperbole mode when shtein goes wrong. oh the pen sucks halladone cant go longer into games the offense bla bla bla.

the fact of the matter last night was a game they win 3 years ago when they were good. with ease. now they suck and cant win unless every little thing goes right. you guys are watching a bad baseball team. just accept that and life will be easier.

setting aside the pitching for a moment, the team literally has one player in the lineup who could fairly be described as good -- utley -- and the odds are he'll be hurt in a month or so.  after that you have one player who is probably still above average for his position - rollins - and the rest of the lineup is average or (much) worse.

breaking news, i know, but they don't even have above average players anymore.
