in theory, yes

in reality hof needs to worry about his stats and his stats alone. he needs to look good to keep his job. this team stinks he cant be thinking like he needs to pick up the slack...what slack...for what...winning? lol.

Getting on base matters.  He will do it.  Maybe in light of how awful this team is you're right but Brown can be a decent player because he will get on base period.  To be "good" he needs to combine that with hitting for power.
