QuoteAndrew Bynum sat at his locker prior to the Sixers' Sunday night tip against his former team, the Lakers, talking to reporters, many of whom covered him during his years in Los Angeles.

This is a big week for Bynum, who will visit knee specialist David Alltchek in New York City on Thursday to get an update on the bilateral bone bruises in each of his knees.

If all goes well, Altchek will allow Bynum to ramp up his conditioning by adding the treadmill to his workout routine.

"I am feeling much better obviously, and when I see the doctor, hopefully, I will be cleared for impact," Bynum said. "My right knee is fine."

Bynum added that his left knee feels better then it did six days ago, when he last updated the status of his two injured knees.

As for the Lakers, Bynum reminisced about his days playing for the purple and gold and empathized with the adjustment Dwight Howard is making in playing with a talent like Kobe Bryant.

"I think Dwight's a great player, but he's going to have to get accustomed to playing with Kobe obviously, and not touching the ball every single play," Bynum said.

Bynum's attempted a career high 13.3 field goals per game his final season in Los Angeles; Kobe attempted 23.

"Later I thought I was able to get the ball more and do more things with the ball, so I could definitely see how at the end it could stunt growth," Bynum said. "Winning championships there was fun. But obviously my time there is done. Health is the main concern with me now.

"I don't regret anything. Personally, they traded No. 1 for No. 2 and that is what happened."

Bynum would have loved to play against the Lakers tonight or on New Year's Day when the Sixers visit the Staples Center to prove his No.1 for No. 2 theory.

"You want to play against your old team always, but I would just be excited to play any game at this point," Bynum said.

When that day comes Bynum is confident he will make the Sixers significantly better.

"I think I could do wonders for this team because right now we don't have a lot of post threat and that would help free up a lot of our guys from the outside – knock down shooters," he  said. "And Jrue (Holiday) and Evan (Turner) are playing a lot with the ball right now so it would be good to join them and Thaddeus (Young) also."

hurry back Jrue...another L

How many times did they just let OJ Mayo drive the lane?

It was cool to see Dorell Wright try to go Reggie-in-the-Garden at the end but too little too late

ice grillin you

without iguodala they have no one to stop people like mayo last night

imo the most important stat in basketball is defensive fg%

sixers were 4th in the nba last year and 20th this year

denver was 23rd in the nba last year and is 7th this year

give you one guess why

hate to say i told you so

it's going to be interesting to see watching a team with legit shooters, though it'll make ET even more frustrating.

my perceived weakness of this team is going to be perimeter playmaking on both ends of the court....i think they are going to struggle defending dribble drive on the defensive end....also how will they do defending the leagues legit scorers especially small forwards...they are really gonna miss iguodala there...

stop looking for an argument and answer this yes or no question:

did the team that was structured last year have a chance to win a title?
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.
