The sellout streak is over. 257 games.

That shtein has been a fraud for awhile now so good that its ended so we can stop hearing about how its a sellout when most of the sections are empty seats.

This probably belongs in the Rest of Baseball thread but he's only been gone a week.  They may sign him but not for the $/years he wants.  He did go 2-4 tonight in 2-0 loss to Rockies.

QuoteLOS ANGELES -- Shane Victorino has been in Los Angeles for only four games, but he's already hoping for a long future in Dodger blue.

Victorino has informed his agents that he would like to re-sign with the Los Angeles Dodgers, the outfielder told ESPNLosAngeles.com on Monday.

Victorino is in the final year of a three-year, $22 million contract he signed before the 2010 season with the Philadelphia Phillies.

"I don't want to just be a two-month or three-month rental," Victorino said. "I want to be here."

Victorino played all but one of his nine major-league seasons with the Phillies, but being in Los Angeles has shown him the advantages of playing on the West Coast. His parents, Mike and Joycelyn, flew from Maui to attend Monday night's game against the Colorado Rockies. His wife and two young children can fly from the family's home in Las Vegas to Los Angeles in less than an hour.

Victorino, 31, moved to left field to accommodate Los Angeles' best player, Matt Kemp, and is off to a slow start with the Dodgers, with just two hits in his first 17 at-bats.

"Don't get me wrong. I still miss Philly and I still miss everything about that place, but now that this chapter has come into play, there are a lot of other things I look at," Victorino said. "I'd love to stay here for the next however many years and win one here."

The feeling might well be mutual. Before landing Victorino at the trade deadline, the Dodgers had used eight different left fielders, who had a collective .338 slugging percentage, 29th in the majors./quote]

Von Brown actually not looking too bad in this go-around.  Hope he can keep it up.

PhillyPhreak54

Hamels pitched a beaut.

Brown is showing some glimpses...

2015 here we come!

Like the approach with Brown, "You're it buddy so don't worry about looking over your shoulder".  Best thing for him.

Pretty much.

He still takes some adventurous routes on fly balls but I liked his throw to hose McCann and his plate approach.

MDS

very underrated

watch him at the plate then watch hackers like mike mike and roidin freddie. one is just a tad better than the other.

not sure if hes ever going to be a middle of the order all star but hes definitely going to be able to hang around. probably wasnt worth all the hype, but oh well. whatevs.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Brown's best asset is his plate approach.  He walks a ton.  He just needs to figure out his swing mechanics (big "just needs" admittedly), and figure out wtf he's doing on route in the OF.

24 meaningless at bats into his season and dom brown proclamations are being respun

It's not officially the offseason but unofficially it is:

I like Bourn, and if he were 5 years younger I'd be all over him. But he's 30, averages over 100 strike outs a game, and has a low OBP. His speed is still decent but that's going to decline every year after the age of 30. Not to mention he's represented by Boras. Just don't see him as a good signing. This team needs to go younger and take a step back. I have the feeling someone is going to overpay for him big time.

Meh.  I think he'll be an average MLB starter.  Even last year he had a strong walk rate.  It's the rest of it that needs to be worked on.  For his age he has a very solid plate approach.  I don't think anyone is projecting him to be a superstar like they were 2 years ago.

Munson

Exactly. if dude can bat .270, get OB at like a .330 clip, and be average in the outfield, that'll be good enough. Sign some big names in 2014, and worry about one less spot to fill in the OF.

He was starting to look good last year too before the Phils sent him back down

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds
