Just saw on Baseball Tonight that Pineapple Head was removed from the lineup. They speculated trades but then said that the beat writers are saying he came into the locker room and saw be was hitting 7th and walked out without a word. Not sure if he went and bitched to Charlie.

Good job, Vic! You're stinking the joint up and you have the balls to bitch about where you're at in the lineup.

I'd trade his ass to the highest bidder, he should be able to bring a mid level prospect or two, he's a hell of a defensive outfielder, still has good speed on the basepaths, and is playoff tested. Trade his ass and send a message. I'm not saying this season is salvageable by any means, but going forward it sends a message to the rest of the team.

he had to go anyway but i agree ship his ass asap...he doesnt play another game for this team as far as im concerned

this douchebag pridie has already made me forget him

Brutal.  This team is just brutal to watch right now.

Jeez...

Let the Pridie era begin.

1-5 against Mets and Braves has officially bolted the door shut.  Season was over a few weeks ago but now just sit back, relax, enjoy your summer, drink up and count down to training camp.

So does the Ryne Sandberg era begin soon? I can't see how they'd let Charlie finish out the season at this point. I just watched his post game presser, I know he's usually a jolly idiot but at least you got the sense that he gave a shtein. Not getting that sense anymore. You can only come up with the same excuse for so long.

Rome

It's pretty evident the old country bumpkin has lost this group.  You're right that it's time to cut bait, but I doubt seriously they'll can him.

I don't think it matters one way or another anyway.  They're just plain dreadful right now and that's really not Cholly's fault.  This catastrophe rests squarely on Smug's narrow shoulders.

firing him this year would be about as low rent bush league a move as there would ever have been

i have major problems with the guy as a manager.....but he did win a world series and is the winingest manager in team history...to fire him in the middle of a season where you were decimated by injuries and have a roster that is gotten old before our eyes would be outrgeous...but if there is anyone to do something so low its definitely smug....i could ossibly see him doing it to try and take heat off himself...but i think theres less than a 1% chance hes fired this season

i could see him retiring after the year

Yeah, give him a gentle push out the door at the end of the year but giving him the boot now would be awful.  And just unfair, really.

PhillyPhreak54

50 losses at the break.

When are Mike Mimbs and Garrett Stephenson pitching? Oh that was fifteen years ago? I couldn't tell the difference.

Firing Charlie would be wrong on a thousand levels. He deserves to finish out and also to be back next year.

It's the players not the manager who are the problem.

SD

It's the managers job to lead and motivate those players. Maybe they're not a playoff team but there's enough talent to be .500. Uncle Cholly is just as at fault as RAJ is. Sure it's easy to not hate on Cholly because he's one of the good ole boys while RAJ is a smug assface but they deserve equal blame.

Rome

Was he just as responsible for the 102 wins last year?
