Done after 2 innings.  yea

At this point you have to start to wonder if he has a problem with heat exhaustion.

He must really be looking forward to the cool, crisp months of June, July and August.

Don't worry, those mid-Atlantic summers are a dry heat. I swear.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Munson may be too young to remember those heady days of the late-1980s and 1990s, when Gregg Jefferies was the big FA signing of any particular season.  In the next season or two we may find out whether the ownership has really changed its M.O. or if they'll retreat to their "we're a small market" mentality.

Halladay was stellar the first few starts, and mediocre-to-bad in the last few.  The one thing positive that I cling to is that, mostly, it's been one bad inning in many of those starts.

Getting older and losing velocity happens to all pitchers, especially now that they can't chemically enhance their deteriorating skills quite as easily.  Some pitchers learn to adapt, others don't.  The one thing that Halladay has is a cerebral method of pitching that may be able to find a way to adapt to a diminishing fastball.

No I definitely remember some of those days...I would say my earliest real memory was the Schilling trade that brought Crazy Vicente and Omar Daal (And Travis Lee??). I vaguely remember the 93 season but only because I loved Kruk and Dykstra.

I'm just hoping now that they've taken the steps they've taken to spend money the last few years, it means they're here to stay and here to compete year in and year out. I know everyone (IGY) hates the "south jersey fans" but as long as CBP stays the "hip" place to be and continues to sell, that's more money for the franchise to spend.

Thanks for making me feel old - I remember '93 real well.  It was the year I married and moved to Florida.  The earliest major acquisition I remember was Pete Rose back in '79.  He's something of a pariah in MLB now, but without him that 1980 team doesn't win the World Series.

You may be right in that they'll spend the money as long as they're making it.  Once they got the new park and began to ascend they did become much more willing to part with money.  Maybe they just need to quit the nepotism that is RAJ and look for the best GM candidates.  I still have too many memories of Omar Daal being the opening day starter and Steve Jeltz being touted as a SS candidate to trust them.

It's gotta be a heat exhaustion thing. He is in shape and works out a lot but he's got to have some sort of problem.

Haha yeah I remember Daal being the "ace" and Vicente....and Bruce Chen.....I'm blanking on a few of the other names but damn they've come a long way.

I can't remember specifics about the 93 season, I just know I loved Kruk and really loved Dykstra, wore #4 in little league because of him. I remember celebrating with my older brother and dad when they won the NLCS, and I remember crying when they lost the WS...but I couldn't really tell you anything specific about either series from memory.

Hmmm... Halladay left the game "as a precaution" because of "right shoulder soreness."

They could be screwed.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

PhillyPhreak54

I like MDS' suggestion better. Gas Chamber!

STL fans irk the farg out of me. They want a curtain call for every goddamn homer. Its a 3R HR in the 5th inning of a 4-1 game IN fargING MAY!

QuoteDavid Hale --- If Halladay misses time, #Phillies 4 highest paid players would've all seen DL stints this year. Combined 2012 salary: $76.8 million.

lol get outta there Yaddy...

Flipped to the Texas-Toronto game.  Did you know that Kyle Drabek is 4-4 with a 3.27 ERA?  :paranoid
