Don Ho

Piece of shtein first inning for Lee followed by no patience at the plate by Vic, Polanco and Pence.  Think Dickey threw about 7 pitches.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Don Ho

11 hits 2 runs.  Shocking.

Lee did get his shtein together after the first inning melt down.

not that im sunshine and lollipops with this team but you might want to ease up. its one game and they are 3-4.

wait until they are 20-35 or something before going all in.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

i dont care about the regular season....i hate this team because they spent all this money and supposedly have this dream roster and in the era they are only going to have won one world series...i also hate having to watch this slow excrutiatingly painful slip into the abyss they started last year and will culminate in the next couple years

i just wish they could blow it up and get rid of all these blood sucking deals and be terrible but at least be terrible and have a future that includes fun young players to watch....theres nothing worse in sports i hate than an old dying team...it kills me inside a little bit every day

in five or ten years ill look back on this era with great joy and will remember the GRIT with knees and the "get me to the plate boys" choke and gawd jimmy being the greatest leader in the cities history...but for now and the near future its going to be one of the hardest things ive ever gone thru

I didn't read your entire post past the first few lines but a couple things:

Part 1

They'll probably make the playoffs this season, what they do in the playoffs nobody knows. What we know is it's no longer the best team in the league that wins it's the team that gets hot and gets timely hitting come playoff time. As long as they get there I'll take my chances with what they've got. On paper every Phillies team after the 2008 team that won the WS has been better.

Part 2 is this is no longer the 90's Phillies where they'd sign scrap heap free agents and we'd all be praying that some random minor leaguer would turn into a player. This team actually develops their farm system and as long as fan support stays high they'll be among the league leaders in payroll. We're in the Yankees/Sox gonna compete every season category now. You have to move on from the mindset that the Phils are a small market club. As long as fan support stays high - and judging from the amount of tickets sold this season it hasn't slowed - the Phillies will stay competetive.
