It seems like yesterday when they drafted him #1 overall and now he's signing with the team to retire as a Phillie. Makes you feel old.

We were at his first minor league game when he played for Clearwater. My wife got his autograph on a ball that has Schilling & Tito Francona's sigs on it.

Also makes you realize how ancient the infield is when the prospective starter at every position is within like 3 years of age of a guy who just signed a ceremonial retirement contract.
