I can imagine the excessive racial crap being spewed out there.  I've deliberately avoided reading any articles online about him so that I don't accidentally start reading user comments.  But I will say that the difference between him and most other scum is 1 unjustified beating at the hands of the police, which never would have happened if he weren't driving drunk in the first place.  It's not like he was just driving down the street and cops pulled him over for no reason and started beating him.  Ex-con on parole, driving drunk and led officers on high speed chase for about 10 miles and resisted arrest.  Obviously the cops went WAY overboard on what would be considered reasonable force to restrain him, but King was no innocent victim.

And he had several more run ins with the law after this event too.  Another DUI when he drove into a wall, hit his wife with a car and yet another DUI when he ran a red light, refused to pull over again and crashed into a house.  I think he got shot once too.

Whatever....cops treating his skull like a piƱata for a few minutes brought some serious civil rights issues back to the forefront, allowed for sweeping changes in the LAPD and gave us a pop culture catch phrase.  Well done, Rodney.

Some guy brought his Neiman painting into the shop on Pawn Stars the other night. Rick said "Neiman is 91 and once these guys kick the bucket their artwork skyrockets". The expert estimated the painting at $1200...I think they got it for $700-800. If they've still got it they just doubled or tripled their money.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds
