Wow...the San Diego community is going to be in shambles for a while. Dude was a bit of a hero in that community.

This is probably a topic for another thread (possibly one that already exists, but shut up who cares) but we could legitimately be seeing the beginning of the end of the NFL.

If superstars keep offing themselves and manifesting these terrifying post-career health problems, someone somewhere is going to start crusading seriously against the sport entirely.

Yep, I've said that before. The sport will eventually be illegal to play.

He shot himself in the chest.....just like the one dude who said he had brain injuries from football and wanted his brain intact so that it could be studied. This could seriously be the beginning of the end.

He owns a huge sports bar called 'Seau's' in the Mission Valley Mall. I met him once at this outdoor bar in Mission Beach called Lahinas, it was right before the Eagles/Bucs 40 degree debacle...his buddy had a Bucs hat on and we were talking shtein to one another. He [Seau] was just laughing at us.

Lets all calm down...as long as the NFL continues to generate the revenue it does, it's not going anywhere. Sure, they may continue to puss the game down a bit more, but I'm pretty confident that none of us will live to see the end of the league.

PhillyPhanInDC

More like the end of the league as we know it. Might be flag football in a bit. If Seau did it cause his noodle was banged up, as high profile as he is, look for the federal government to come swinging in from the rafters.

He might have finally eaten there for the first time and decided to off himself. The place was terrible and survived (made a nice profit) on his name alone.

In all seriousness though, I was listening to Max (Kellerman) and Marcelius (Wiley) during their radio show and Wiley is just breaking down on air.  I guess he and Seau were sort of tight.

I turned it off because it's kind of hard to listen to (sad, really).

c'mon ladies. they're not canceling football.
