That's awesome. Wish he would have put a plug in to bring back the Kelly Green. And no to Gruden but otherwise job well done. Pissed now that I have to miss this game.

lol thats great

dh finds a way to get himself some pub
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Looking at Reid today I'm starting to wonder if he'll survive the season - not his job, but literally survive.  He just doesn't look well.

So I was thinking about the next Eagles HC. Of the two Lurie hires neither was a known name and both were surprise picks. For that reason I doubt we'll see Gruden/Cowher although I guess anything is possible.

Here's a name no one is talking about, would come from left field, and is a local guy

He's inexperienced but so was Reid, and is seen as an up and coming coach in this league. Add the local mystique into the fold and Lurie has his guy.

SunMo

i think Lurie would want an offensive guy
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Why so? I think he'll hire the best man for the job. Rhodes was a defensive guy, he brought Gruden in and the Offense was fine.

The league is driven by offense, so it makes (business) sense to bring a HC in who is offense oriented. If you go with a defensive minded HC, and he brings in an excellent OC, you can plan on looking for a new OC in 3-5 years when he leaves for a HC gig. An offensive HC ensures offensive continuity for the duration of his tenure which likely leads to high(er) revenues.

Not saying this is the way Lurie would go, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if he did.

ice grillin you

having a defensive head coach and a good offense are not mutually exclusive....in fact one has nothing to do with the other...in fact id rather have a defensive head coach and a great offensive mind at coordinator...imo a defensive head coach lends more to having an overall tougher team and a defensive head coach can reign in an out of control offensive coordinator more than the other way around

in the end tho just get the right guy
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

Agreed...dont' really care if the guy is a offensive or defensive guy just that he's the right guy. I'm not advocating for Pettine but this is the out of left field sort of guy that Lurie would take a chance on.
